Honestly, I find it both surprising and inspiring that you chose to create a vlog at your level of play but that being said, you're very enjoyable to watch and your honest and humble assessment of your game has made me a fan! You own up to your mistakes and ask for critique. I find that much more enjoyable than watching a poker snob who thinks they know better than everyone else. I feel like I'm learning along with you even though I tend to think you're newer at the game than I am. Maybe that's not correct but, either way, it doesn't matter....what matters is that you took the leap and started vlogging while putting all of your wins and losses, correct decisions and wrong ones, heaters and coolers all out for the world to see with no pretentiousness or ego. When I brought my girlfriend to the poker room for the very first time, I bought her $50 buyin as a gift and taught her an ultra- simplified shove or fold strategy (AQs, AK, TT+). The very first playable hand that she got was JJ, she shoved and got called, and she hit quads.

I like the 78h lay-down, but I'm the biggest nit around. And man oh man, there's no better garbage hand I love beating than Q8. Happy to see it erupt into flames. Well done.

I really enjoy your videos. I think you are capturing low stakes hold'em better than any other RU-vid channel. One thing you show more than most vloggers is how often you fold. If you can track this we could see total number of hands you are dealt and number entered. We can then calculate your VPIP for each session and see how we compare.

I live in Reno and play 1-2 and 2-5 all over town. Your fold with 78 H was the right fold. It's either jam or fold and with MP raising two players with you left to act he will have sets, straight or nut draw. At best it's a coin flip for your whole buy in. Very good disciplined fold, that is a very valuable attribute when building your bankroll. I like the content, ya got a new Sub. Take care and good luck. Peace.

The fold on 8/7 suited was absolutely the right call to make, especially when facing a 3 bet from a tight player. He's got something good and you're on a weak draw.

Word of advice, don't limp in with 78 suited unless you would do the same with stronger hands.

Remembering the card suits preflop was something I had to work on. I learned to just say the first letter of the suit in my head. Example, Ace of diamond King of spade would be AK ds.

The first 7-8 ♥️ ‘s hand was a definite raise preflop. 3 limpers to you that’s a great hand to show some aggression. Raise to $40-45 and you push out all the weaker hands and then with that flop you will feel much more comfortable showing continued aggression. The second 7-8 ♥️’s hand shouldn’t have been limped UTG. Raise or fold there. Limping UTG is just generally not a profitable play in cash games. 10’s will obviously call but it’ll be easier to navigate post flop if fewer players are there. Good vlog!

Try and count to 5 when you look at your cards every time. If you keep this to a constant it will remove a few of your tells.

I think you made the right choice folding the SFD, with it being a multi way pot it was very possible that someone flopped the straight or had a higher flush draw than the 78. Those straight flush draws look great but very rarely fall. In my 25 plus years of poker I have only made 6 straight flushes and only 1 if them were gut shot draws. When grinding to build up your bankroll it's important to not chase cards and play conservative. I look forward to seeing your process and hopefully once Covid 19 is under control you can really be able to read people better without having to worry about what's behind the masks!

I was going to suggest the card memorization. With unsuited ace, I always remember my ace suit for flushes. I’m almost 100% with not looking back now.

Playing on a short bankroll, you must protect the bankroll, therefore the big question would be should you ever play 78s on a short bankroll? If you can’t afford to continue on a good flop, then why play it in the first place. Just be a nit and play premium hands and double thru someone. It’s very hard to play right on a small bankroll. Hopefully you can run good enough to build a little cushion. Best of luck building your roll.

Honestly, the first 8/7 is a good fold there. When you have three other opponents, a bet, a call, and a raise all in front of you, you really only have one safe card (9h) to give you the nuts. You're not getting the right odds to call against their range.

Of youre willing to play 78 suited preflop you have to be willing to call at least one street when you flop a combo draw... Floppin a combo is what youre looking for when you play suited connectors.

Mike Caro said "Money not lost, is the same as money won." that weak flush draw was a good laydown. Chasing weak flushes will rarely work out, and you'll forget all them and focus on the one time you suck out with it. Long term it's absolutely a losing play. Well done.

Don't mind the folding of 7,8 if you had the higher end stay in but great stuff, never check dark only limits your play

When you look back at your cards on the monotone flop, villains will know it becomes much less likely for you to have a made flush... So when you bet there after checking your cards they will realise your most likely holding is the naked Ad, so you kinda put yourself in danger for aggression on later streets when getting called. I like the vlog tho

Folding the first 87 of hearts is an absolutely fine play

Hey. Good video. In my opinion, you played the 87 of hearts right the first time as you were in worst position facing a raise , call, reraise. Action behind you makes it a standard, good fold. The second time when you bet 10 and the lady went all in with 10s for 70 more and two cards to come, that is a standard snap call. You have 9 outs to the flush and 4 outs to the gutter. Poker is a game of skill, sure. But, luck is involved and when you have about 13 outs with 2 cards to come that is a bad lay down. No guts, no glory.

For the 87h hand, if you had an open ended draw for straight and straight flush, I'd shove, but I think that was a good fold..

at 12:26 when you're computing pot odds you wouldn't want to include the call amount in the calculation. 334/80 would be the true odds of a call there. still probably a call against most players, but an important distinction.

Nothing wrong with playing risk-averse with the 78s since you said you are on a tight BR. You had very little invested and multiple players trying to inflate the pot which likely indicates some of your outs are gone.

I like your vlog because it's real! And what i mean by real is that most people that play $1/2 or $1/3 have small bankrolls and have to buy in short... On the edge of my seat to see if you're going to run it up! I would say the most profitable way to play the small blind for the majority of players is 3 bet or fold. 3 bet your strongest hands and fold everything else even if others have limped. If you are going to flat 87 on that board and then fold you should never have called in the first place.

I think you played the 87 hearts hand wisely. Although you did have the gutshot to the SF, your hearts could’ve easily been way behind to an Ahigh or K high draw. When playing a multi-way pot with a draw, I’ve always found it worth while to have the Nut draw. It’s never a good feeling to hit your flush and to notice another player going a little wild when the 3rd heart hits. Idk, that’s my 2 cents

You shouldn’t be limping any hands until you feel comfortable post flop. Definitely folding the JT7hhx flop with 89hh. I know it’s 1/2$ but if a raise to 10$ is getting 2-3 callers, you should be raising larger. We want to be headsup postflop. Also the AJ off suit hand early on, we should be 3betting or folding this hand pre, and if we’re too short to 3 bet, then it’s a fold.

I realize that this vlog is over a year old, and you've gained a lot more experience, but I will say this anyway - when you raise over limpers in a 1/3 game, raise bigger than the $10 you used in the KQo hand. ESPECIALLY when they are super loose passive like this group was. it never even crossed their mind to take the pot away from you with a float on the flop and then betting on the turn. You could have picked up another $5 from each player who saw the flop, and then bet bigger on the Turn & River* *I admit this gets tricky when you start w/ $150 as you could end up w/ your whole stack in there, but the point remains. on the checking your hole cards when the flop in monotone being a tell - it *is* a tell, but what it tells is that you have an offsuit hand, and have not flopped a flush. the rule of thumb is: if a player has a suited hand, they know what suit they have. so, if they are looking, they don't (as in don't know what suit(s) they have, and don't have a flush.) on the (first) 78h hand - I don't knock your "nit fold". with 2 other players in the pot showing considerable interest, you have bottom pair, a gutshot, a weak flush draw . . . and one out to the nuts. a pretty as it might look, this is not a great spot. it's hard to even put them on 2 hands that don't have you in terrible shape. what's our best hope? the original bettor is over valuing ATo w/ no heart and the nit raiser has 2 pair with no heart ? that way our straight & flush draw are both good, and maybe even trip 7s ? seems unlikely. you're playing short buy-ins, which makes playing draws tougher as you limit your implied odds. so, you need stronger draws (like to the nuts or that neighborhood). let's look at the worst case - someone has KhQh . . . now you catch your 9h for the straight flush . . . and lose! you hit an offsuit 9 . . . and lose! and with bottom pair, assuming you even get to the river, could you call w/ bottom pair after you miss all your draws? you'd beat KhQh . . . if you got to showdown. I am confused in the JJ hand. you bet $75 on the flop, the button goes all in for $73 and . . you put out chips to show you call ? I guess you did not know he shoved for less? and finally - if you're going to buy in short, you need to remember that you are playing 50BB and then later 60BB or 70BB. these are not great stack sizes to be seeing flops with speculative hands. certainly not with the frequency that you seem to. but, I am a year behind. looking forward to catching up and seeing how you play "now". the fact that your vlog is still active is a good sign. 😀

79H good fold. Easy to say when it's results orientated but ask yourself... If it was just a gutshot straight or flush draw would you call or raise a 3 bet? Probably not. Decent fold in my head. Especially short stacks as on the turn all the money would've been in the middle

The 8-7s hand was a bad fold in my opinion... your position makes it hard to play because of you being the first to act after the raise, but your hand is easily strong enough to stick around for at least a turn... i think just calling would've been the right decision

You play too passively preflop, which is why you had to fold your 87 suited both times. I would have 3-bet the AQo, and open with 87s.

78♥︎ hand is correct in my opinion your surely drawing against a made hand and your draws except the straight flush may not be good or at best you hit the strait for a chop. Lots of players make the mistake of putting there money in in spots like this where actually your best saving it for easy more profitable spots later.

Sure it's 50/50 if you win Vs the nut straight, but you're drawing to a very valuable hand, so the implied odds incase you hit are much greater. + You have outs to chop as well as win. Plus you're ahead of all heart draws, having the pair.. so if he had Ax hearts you're actually favourite, and have the chance of stacking anyone if you hit the straight flush.
