You gotta be more aggressive with your made hands. Players at low levels tend to call you down with marginal made hands. The pocket tens was an easy raise on the turn.

"You can bluff the good players, but you can't bluff the bad ones. Against the bad ones, you need to have a hand." - Sammy Farha Also, in my 4 years of playing poker, this is the first I have ever seen anyone 3-bet J♣️10♣️ in a cash game. Nice one. The 10's fold was undestandable considering how many players were involved in the pot.

Personally I'd have 3 bet 10s in that spot. Especially at a call happy table I'm not looking to go 6 ways to the flop.

small feedback, so far you're the only one I watch that shows some of their muck hands between hands you actually play. I like that... Keep that going. adds good transition between hands, and shows a small glimpse to non poker players just how many hands you see that you don't play.

agreed. I would have checked back. Your bet only enticed him to shove. You told him you had something and I am sure he was hoping it was AK. You could have punished him with a check. If he was not sure what to do and only knows to try and trap so you bet and he shoves then he might have checked the river as well or bet less than $40 for a cheap see of what he had.

This is the perfect poker vlog. You have single handedly gave poker coaches a forum to critique your 1-3 cash game play. I mean with out you these god like rounders who comment here would othwise be screaming "HOLD!" to their monitor's while playing micro stakes in their parents basements. Thank god you created a vlog to give these unshowered heros a place to submit their super computer like genius of the game. Nows the time to start selling your "merch" as a small gesture, to all the crushers stopping by to selflessly help you improve your game. Without their unsolicited advise you might be turning tricks for solvers. You are doing great work. Thank you for your content and always remember, split your tens, double down, refuse insurance and semi bluff hit on 17. It prints money.

When the turn is a 9 that is actually a decent card for you, in this spot a raise would be the best option on the turn to fold out hands like KQ, QJ, AJ, etc...then if the scare card comes on the river and he checks you can check back with showdown value and not be put to the test with a giant reraise, great video!

15:00 if you think your opponent has a jack and turned trips, you have 2 outs to a king. That gives you 8% equity. There are no odds in any scenario that would allow you to profitably call. I would have checked back that turn. He made a huge mistake by checking.
@PokerBEAST
@PokerBEAST 3 года назад
I know this player pretty well, he plays a solid tight game. I definitely should have checked back, ty for your advice. Cheers
@BenjaminRichardCraig
@BenjaminRichardCraig 3 года назад
You use sophisticated terminology early on in the video. Be careful not to think your opponents are aware of much, it’s easy for players coming from online starting live to think the opponents are higher level than they are. In 1/3 the best advice is still go for thin value and over fold to aggression. Over fold to aggression! Print money by tossing them the cards. The TT hand I would have raised preflop or on the flop as played but your line is ok. Against some opponents I will exploit fold the turn. River snap fold KQ is fine. You could check it back on the turn with the read and Q blocking all the draws. As a more general tip the reasons to bet are always 1) fold out their equity / protection for your hand 2) get value from worse Some of your decisions you mention other reasoning that doesn’t really make sense. You’ve got good potential in the game just keep it simple until you build up experience.
@PokerBEAST
@PokerBEAST 3 года назад
Thank you for this thoughtful comment. I actually don’t play online at all. I completely agree with your two points although I haven’t implemented them correctly yet. I call down too much. The concept of value owning yourself a portion of the time in order not be checking to much on the river is also a new concept to me. Thanks again!

Should had raised with the 1010, especially with position over raiser. If he 3 bets you can fold, I rather know where I'm early before the flop instead of being a calling station if a small flop comes out. You lose more money as a calling station and not knowing what to do on the river if big cards come out and you don't hit your set. Exactly what happened in your hand.

On the pocket 10 hand, the spot that killed you in this hand was the Flop. That's where you get someone off a hand. I'd guess you're not aggressive enough often enough, and hands like that where you may be good you aren't given enough credit. If that's your style, when you're sure you're ahead, like you almost certainly were on the flop with pocket T's, you're best play (in my opinion) is to over bet the flop. With your more straightforward play that would be a sign of real strength and you'd prolly take it down there. If you didn't you still had a lot of outs if you were beat on the flop by say bottom 2 pair.

I had 77 vs A3 on a 343 flop last night. He was a very loose player and led out on the flop $10, I made it $30, everyone folds and he rips it for $175. I got away from it after much deliberation and leveling myself, first reminding myself that I made the raise to see where I'm at and for protection...but then leveled myself while tanking, "did he rip it in thinking I'm never raising the flop with a 3? Did he snuff out that this is a feeler raise?" Thankfully I folded The same guy, I had reraised preflop with AK in position and he was the only caller. Flop ran out 53Q68. I triple barrel bluffed and had TANKED before the river bluff, which must've leaked my line and he snapped me off with a pair of 3's 🤢🤮

@pokercub (not a beast yet, but with work, you can get there), when discussing the hand ranges of your opponents, you have to consider what the preflop action will be. For example, you should not be considering super premiums like AK/TT+ hands in limped pots. This should allow to better define their range when facing postflop action. PS. What are you using to record this video? Also if someone at the table has a bigger chip stack than you for example you have 300 chips and someone has 1500 and the person bets 700 chips what happens? do you go all in with 300 chips and then if you lose do you owe the casino money? or can you not call because you don't have 700 chips? i am an online poker player and i have never played poker offline but i would like to because i think that online poker is rigged. i enjoyed this video.

If someone has more chips than you, the shortest stack is all that can be in play. If someone goes all in for 1000 and you call with a 300 stack and no one else calls, they get 700 back immediately and your only gambling for the 300 each (plus what’s already in the pot)

@@PokerBEAST fair enough. I only ask because I'm just starting to get into poker and watching these vlogs are super helpful to see how better players actually play every hand.

Did you just fold away A J off suit? I certainly hope that is in your opening range

Typically when I fold away what looks like a good hand, it’s bc of significant preflop action. Sometimes it’s for other reasons that aren’t as legit (various types of tilts, protecting a short stack, etc). Ty for your thoughtful comment and the support of the channel. Cheers

@@christopherton Haha they’re for sure real! It is pretty unbelievable though. I’m just on an unreal heater. I’m very lucky to be winning, but also the fact that the biggest heater of my life coincides with the start of my vlogging journey is very convenient. Take care!

You had kings and jacks and you folded! If you look at the odds of getting two pair you would have not folded. Incorporate and learn odds chart.Not the one that tells you what to do. The one that tells you the percentages of getting dealt one pair etc.

On 10 10 if he had worse of the flop you could have gotten him off it but if he had better, say JJ or a set or 9 8 for 2 pair then you are never getting him off it.

I never run into idiots tossing away their chips with A2... what a terrible play on that guy's part.

Your logic doesn’t make a lot of sense with the 1010 hand, the original raiser should NOT have a lot of 9x in his opening range, and the board pair as well as pairing top pair is a lot better for YOUR field calling range even though your hand should of been played as a 3 bet. Stop putting people on monsters. Isolate pre and take advantage of actually flopping a rare over pair with 1010
