I m french, I played a lot of Quake 2 when I was teenager, my English wasn't very good so I never understood "computer updated" this robotics voice was mysterious for me 😂, and engraved in my mind without any understanding, thanks BMD to clarify it

Another great walktrough BigMacDavis, now that you got all the weapons it becomes easier to balance ammo and choose the right one for certain enemies. I already have a pattern, I use rockets against the iron maidens and railgun against the gladiator (pay with the same coin LOL), and like to use grenades against the tank because though his shots are deadly he is quite slow and gives you time to dodge and target the grenades, about 6-7 are enough to kill him, rockets are good option too. Now waiting for the continuation, will try to get the next stream on Wednesday. Also waiting for SOD continuation on floor 6. The Reactor Unit is in my opinion one of the best in Quake 2 main campaign. By the way, the deathmatches are really cool and funny :D

also, if i remember correctly, that "chilling" music that gets played after a while instead of the "normal" soundtrack is the normal level music of one of the secret levels the original version back in the 90s did not do that music swap, iirc...

If nobody answered the Brains laser question I will! The Brains in the original game was basically just a bullet sponge: slow and only had a melee attack. The Reckoning has a stronger version called Beta Class Brains that gave it a Power Shield, lasers and tentacles. The Remastered version just gave the same properties to the regular Brains so the only differences there are between them now are purely cosmetic.

You get 'up close and personal' with all this in Quake 4.

These deathmatches are getting more and more fun :D A friendly tip for both single and multiplayer (something that would have helped with the Sudden Death map too) - there is a holdover in the engine from the times of Quake 1 that they never fixed and in fact is now consciously being treated as a feature: it's possible to accelerate practically without limit by performing "bunny hops" - jumps while moving forward while slightly shifting the direction of movement every time. Quake Live and then Quake Champions in fact even had training maps that let you practice this skill. It's a bit tricky to incorporate while tryign to make sharper turns to navigate the map, but relatively easy to learn if it's just for going in a straight line - not only can you move reaaally fast that way, but you can likewise make farther jumps thanks to the extra momentum. It probably doesn't need to be said out loud how many benefits mastering this has, but just to give one example - it makes you much harder to hit with non-hitscan weapons

Good fight through the processing plant. I get a kick out of watching those machines that grind up the human bodies. I always have noclip into them and let them kill me just for fun. Shame I missed the live stream. Hopefully I can join the multiplayer sometime too.

Sometimes i feel like this game is too easy for you BMD, even on the nightmare setting. Of course, the Railgun tends to make things a lot easier. 😀

So I might have been wrong I believe the settings you might be looking for are in accesbility there's settings in there which might be why it was reading out the comments I believe I originally thought it was in multiplayer settings but you looked so sorry about that.

When you get to the expansions (and yes, the N64 campaign is unique), I must strongly caution you to not play Ground Zero on Nightmare. That game is infamous for its insane difficulty that’s more irritating than challenging.

kinda soft of BMD to shutdown all machines immediately... i remember watching the troops gettting "emulsified", squished and whatnot for minutes 😛 i also seem to remember all those conveyor belts that are moving those heads forwards had complete soldiers on them in the original version... but i might just mix levels up mentally..
