Quake 2 got it's much anticipated re-release today. I was blown away by this firing it up for the first time. They've completely remade the intro sequence, with it's original audio, in full HD
“Holy sh-! Bitterman! Bitterman! What in the hell’s going on?! We just lost a..a third of the platoon just as they cleared Sector Niner-Xray! You got a visual on any AA discharge?!” Possibly my favourite intro of all time
I miss the "after the recon from what was once known as Europe." in the voice chatter in the beginning. In fact they removed a few other lines too for some reason. Was a little disappointed with that.
"Command! I've Got No Flight Control! I repeat! I've got NO Flight control! Going in for a Crash Landing!" Also a good choice for post-cheese Toilet words.
Yeh it's hard to tell huh? Looks like maybe a bit of both. When down on the planet it seems like it's just an upres. The space stuff looks like it may have been remade (I feel like the logo exploding is a lot different to the original but would have to go check)

It's cool!! Just like quake 1 remaster I was quite lucky, because I already owned them on steam I was just issued with the new versions. Pretty cool of them to do that

Stoked to play this. I know it’s only $13 but I’m still going to wait til next week to grab this because if I get it now, I’ll be putting even more games on the back burner lol
Been playing this since 97 and Major thumbs up to the player named Deadeye 0.0 for inventing the speed jump humping sound effect to piss off other playing "Huhuhuhuhu" LMAO, at one point in 2006 we got all 26 players doing that and building player towers lol , great times for sure!! Huhuhuhuhuhu LoL 😆
You don't have them on but I think they made several mistakes with the captions for example the text says "little freaky EMP" but pretty sure they actually say "lower freq. EMP".
