It's interesting how the original series balanced both sci fi and the supernatural, showing the devil and the evil leapers really demonstrated the cosmic and supernatural side of things especially since they introduced GOD with the ambiguos bartender which really fleshed out the whole good and evil dynamic.
The whole evil leapers never made any sense. Why would they ever do that? Just to be a dick? The reboot says they are from the future and Lathos is Ziggy...but still why bother ruining a random persons life? I can see god wanting to change it to a better outcome but why would someone sign on to be an asshole in time?
This freaked the hell out of me. And it's a no-brainer that the evil leapers later on in the series were the devils next attempt to derail Sams journey.
I haven't seen this full episode since I was a little kid but I do remember it scaring the hell out of me. I wonder if it was really that scary or I just remember it that way because I was a kid.
I'll never forget watching this When it was first broadcast..... and thinking holy shit.... and this was a great pre cursor for the introduction of the lothos and and the evil leapers
Dean was so good as Al and he gave me chills as Satan, especially 2:35. He was someone special. A good man. Lookup an interview Deborah Pratt did on how he protected her daughter, Troian, on the episode where Troian played the little girl whose Sam leaped into her mother.
That is a very devil thing to do chastise Sam with an accusatory tone. Who gave you the right?! I mean it's a cool thing to say in the parameters of the show, God did.
I loved this episode when I 1st watched. Had to watch it again a second time to see if Sam's photographic memory was correct to tell if Al ever used the handlink to open the imaging chamber door or used the handlink even ince to tell him the ziggy percentages. I also felt that maybe satan sent the evil leapers after Sam to undo the wrong he made right back to wrong again. And if Satan was somehow connected to Lothos and the evil leapers. It never came into fruition but made perfect sense that satan would fund a project such as an evil quantum leap.
Scott Bakula put out a very long statement on his insta how he was not appart of the show and disappointed after trying for decades to bring the show back.
even though the ending of the episode made it seem it was all a dream, i think all of this actually happened and the devil just reset everything to make sam think it was a dream so that he could strike again undetected.
I think God is the one who reset it. Sam said a few episodes before that that he didn’t believe in the devil. God let all this happen to wake Sam up, then reset it.
The Bible does say resist the devil and he must flee. Sam resisted the devil so he had to flee. Once that happened everything was reset and the devil wasn’t even able to take one life since Sam knew what was going to happen.
All the people that say the new quantum leap is trash and horrible are the people that are stuck in their ways they forget that it was a different time and place when the original series ended and it's been off the air for more than 30 years a lot has happened a new generation has come up give it some time and may impress us PS Rest in peace Dean Stockwell
I’ve been watching the new one and love it. Sure it has a few kinks to work out, but it’s still great. It seems to be finding its footing with these last couple of episodes too
@Streamer Momemts Magic being played by Ernie Hudson was a great choice. It sounded random he was the main head of the project, until this week’s episode. Plus, it’s Ernie Hudson, so I knew he’d at least be great in his role
who gave me the right to go back in time? well it wasnt you Deamon you didnt study timetravel you earned it in hell cose like there time space study dont matter its a diferent dimension easy
I remember watching this when it was first broadcast and noticing AL didn't use the door that appeared to enter or leave :) thought it was odd.....very good episode and should be shown every Halloween
