Not saying QS is sure of success, but for all those fellow Tesla fanboys slating QS...remember- J.B. Straubel is on the board... as is Celina Mikolajczak. This isn't a Nikola.

I am a firm believer that once QS starts production and commercializes, this going to be huge for EV. Not only drivers can drive upto 800-900km but also this is so necessary for Self driving cars with Lidar technology. It will require more battery power to run lidar to do self driving.

Maybe you should put more trust in "facts" and less in "belief" ? A quick googling reveals that motorized LiDAR sensors consume about 10W with future MEMS LiDAR systems requiring even less. This is a completely insignificant amount of power in a car. But I guess facts don't matter if one is "a firm believer".

We all should be wishing for Solid State batteries to be commercially viable and successful for our future generations to be successful and lead healthy lives. Nothing against Tesla or Solid Power or other promising battery technologies. Hope QS succeeds.

Solidstate batteries will be difficult use in cold climates but yet it is a challenge to be solved.

I wouldn't call you racist. It is true perhaps from your experience. But the US and Europe had restricted India's access to their markets in many ways and so a diverse country like India might seem like a monochrome. That just isn't true when you come out and explore.

Saw this before. A123. Batteries are good enough for now. Prove your claims of breakthrough. Without third party corroboration this is just another Theranos.

For cars they're definitely not good enough. They're too expensive and too heavy. You'll compromise range in a big way if you fit less than 35-40kwh worth of batteries in a economic car. We need at least 50kwh in every EV, and currently it's too expensive to do that.

Volkswagen has been testing to stack these modules and it seems to work. They are building a first factory to extend their tests capacties. Rumors say, that probably AUDI will present a car in 2024 with QS cells on board.

@@derek3524 Yes, but until there is a product (innovation turned to something profitable), it's nothing more than promises, hopes, ifs, ideas, concepts and goals.

@@FMTF-makemoneyonline I disagree. Innovation is sometimes a lot more difficult than production/fast revenue generation. Li-Ion batteries havent changed since the 70s, yet dozens of companies (Samsung, Panasonic, LG) have produced them, rather than improve upon them. Production of a proven product is the safer route. However, risk = reward. Tesla is a prime example of how innovation pays off. Remember, innovation comes first. Almost every billion dollar company that creates revenue right now was once in QS's shoes.

@@derek3524 I think the trajectory is wrong, but other than that we do agree with each other. Normally what you see is a company developing a product, the business grows and eventually gets listed on the stock exchange. This time however, there only is a product in the lab and no commercially available product. Remember that from lab to mass production, there is a loooong way to go. From my standpoint, what we are seeing now is unhealthy behaviour of the market. SPAC mergers, and many companies getting listed while generating 0 revenue. All to pick a piece of the booming EV pie / sentiment. Not saying we're in a bubble, but we're getting in that direction.

QS sure seems suspect. What is VW's current position on the claims made against QS? The entire VW EV strategy hinges on this early stage battery business. The QS has yet to produce a product and will not for five years.

You can already buy tons of electric VWs. I don't see how their entire strategy depends on these batteries.

I would love for the tech to be real, but the VW validation is not good enough. Remember GM and Nikola? Would VW even reveal they have nothing yet, hoping QS will eventually have a product? Also the ending was really suspicious. Comparing scaling up new battery tech to building a new factory where most of the processes are well established is either very dishonest or reveals lack of experience.

@@TheRubsi I agree. The success of VW in the short term doesn´t rely on QS, rather on management and will to switch to EV production, which seems to be well on the way. If VW does all they promised on Power day, they´ll be fine.
