Love love love seeing y'all together! I've been making this for years and years only we call it Cowboy Caviar. I also put black and white beans in mine. I also make the dressing it'smore of a vinaigrette. We also eat it with tortilla chips.

Ms. Paula, you and your sons tease each other the way my mother and I used to tease together. I was so happy to see the love and joy between y'all. I love Paula Deen and her boys. So entertaining to watch them cook and interact. I was privileged to eat at the Lady & Sons in Savannah years ago, what a treat that was! I also met Bobby at an event in Salt Lake City many years ago. Great family! 💗

*Green* Bell peppers are just as sweet and juicy as any other color, especially when picked fresh right out of your own garden or from your local farmer's market. Don't buy them pre-chopped in little plastic containers. They can have a bit spicier flavor sometimes, but nothing wrong with that, imho.
@PawL NoneYa No, Bobby is not gay, he is happily married with children. They are not competing with each other. Jamie is very outgoing and talkative, Bobby is shy and quiet, so it sometimes look like Jamie is hogging the camera, but in reality he is just trying to make being on camera more comfortable for his brother...and of course they are brothers, so they have some fun rivalries going on sometimes! They completely support each other, they run businesses together, write cookbooks together and visit in their mothers home together all the time!

I mentioned here in a previous post that I was having trouble finding canned black-eyed peas without a smoky-flavored seasoning added. Yesterday I had better luck. I found plain canned black-eyed peas without smoky seasonings at Harris Teeter, under the HT store brand label. I bought two cans and made another bowl of Paula's Georgia Caviar last night, and it is delicious. I love the crisp texture of all the ingredients, almost like they have been pickled. I also used the Olive Garden Italian Dressing this time, per someone's comment here. I used about a third of the bottle.
They got some good genes Paula and her sons look gorgeous.. you know what they say hard work, good work and having love for what you do will keep you young! and they look good! bless them
Ohh my goodness, Paula this has been my whole day, my 14 yr old daughter trying to get me to hush. LoL. I'm from North Georgia, but I miss my summers down in Savannah, or Tybee. Thanks for another great cold dish when it is so hot and muggy.
Good morning and Happy 4th of July. I love this salad with grilled fish. Shoot, I just love to get a small bowl out for a snack, been making this ever since I saw you mske it Paula years ago on your show.
I love corn salad which is very similar to this. Just corn, peppers, onions & either Italian dressing or Catalina dressing. Yes it does need to be made the day before just like this for all the flavors to marry. Just bought some frozen blackened peas to make something my Aunt Jo used to make but I can't think of what it's called at the moment. Brain fart.😂💨 Blackeyed peas, poured over chopped & well cooked eckrich sausage (I mean almost burn it...flavor!) w/ chopped onions & bell peppers sauteed in too & then cover that all with spicy V8 juice. Oh man! Good stuff! Make ya a pan of corn bread & get ready to throw down! Can't go wrong with blackeyed peas, corn, tomatoes & something tangy n spicy. 😋
I'm making this for my family tonight!!! I'm going to add green onion instead of white and serve it with some feta or goat cheese and homemade sourdough

Your videos here are so fun! This salad is the one I’m taking to our next church dinner. You could add thawed frozen peas or celery to get more green in it. You could substitute chick peas in place of the black eyed peas. I’m surprised you didn’t add sugar.
Just love your boys, Paula. My boys give me the same kind of hard time. It’s just that we’re so happy to have our grown boys around that we can’t help ourselves from butting in on their show, or whatever. LOL !
