Just to clear the air. I never once said this was an authentic Mexican recipe (I’m very well aware it’s not) I’m also not the person that created the name for this recipe (that in the beginning of the video I stated it’s literally just a salsa) Cowboy Caviar has been around for years and years, recently it’s gone viral on the web and I’ve been asked to share my take on it probably hundreds of times so I did. A quick Google search will show you it’s not a new idea and certainly not one I came up with. I do my absolute BEST to show appreciation and respect to different cultures through food, I would never purposely disrespect anyone or any culture. This is not a new concept for this recipe, just Google it and you’ll see! There’s no need to send awful messages and comments, it’s harmless and I would never say this is an authentic recipe.
Wow, I'm so sorry to hear this. You have ALWAYS been so respectful and gracious to all cultures. It just blows my mind that people actually took this and made it into something💔 Cowboy caviar is a well-known recipe with a million different ways to make it. I'm so glad you shared your recipe ❤️ Thank you for bringing joy into our kitchens, one recipe at a time😁💕
I feel like your “house seasoning” probably takes this up the notch it needs to be amazing! Would you mind sharing the amounts of each spice you use to create the blend? ☺️
I just want to say that I love all of your recipes and thank you so much for the tips and secrets in so many recipes, you are amazing! Whenever I look for a recipe I check your channel first every time.
Laura, never delete this video. Lol ignore the HATERS. As a Mexican, this isn’t even close to pico, nor do we care. I mean a few of the gen z ones care, but us normal ones don’t🥰. I’ll be making this!
Cowboy caviar is one of my FAVS. I make it all summer long. I soak mine overnight in Canola oil, sugar & apple cider vinegar, then strain it before eating. I'm excited to see how you make yours. Thanks for sharing❤️
Please correct me if I'm wrong but I thought cowboy caviar was a tex-mex thing and it is not the same as pico de Gallo, I though pico de Gallo aka salsa bandera so cilantro, tomate, cebolla. This seems to be different than that, also hasn't cowboy caviar existed like decades before it became a big deal to share a recipe for it.
Cowboy caviar has existed for years but recently over the last month or two somehow it got really really popular and everyone has been sharing their take on it. I didn’t create the idea for this, I didn’t create the name of it, I simply shared my recipe. As I stated in the beginning of the video, this is pretty much a salsa.
Apparently this recipe was invented by the Food Manager of the Dallas Neiman-Marcus department store. They wanted a catchy name to go with it, so chose "Texas Caviar." (or as some say, "Cowboy Caviar"). The dish was a hit, the recipe took off and the rest is history!
Laura, I blended avocado with lime and it was DI VI NE! Thanks for sharing your absolutely incredible and precios recipes! ♥♥♥ I've started cooking years ago with your Taco recipe and since then i'm checking all your uploads 🤗
Some of you really have nothing better to do with your time, and it shows. She never once said this was authentic, nor did she come up with the recipe name. Instead of coming at her for no reason whatsoever, channel your drama seeking energy into doing a quick Google search and you will see that she was simply recreating a viral recipe. Y'all need to get together and find a hobby or something. Leave her alone 🙄
Hi Laura, I, as both my son and daughter absolutely cannot eat cilantro. It seems we have a gene that makes that herb taste like soap to us. Would you know what we could use as a substitute when a recipe calls for cilantro?
I think what you did is nothing like people are getting upset about. I think people that did the more simple salsa/salad seemed like they were doing a spin of Pico de gallo, which has also been around for years
Our family has made a version of this for years using shoe-peg corn (no lime, no cucumbers) and called it Texas Caviar. And used Wishbone Italian dressing as the "sauce" - the recipe said it HAD to be the Wishbone brand. I'm sure some will frown on that part - but something about the flavoring of it melds really well with these ingredients. Served with the Fritos Scoops to get just the right ratio of caviar to chip in one bite - lol! Can't wait to try your version!
Oh my god, you guys are lunatics to complain about the name of a viral recipe and criticise her for double-dipping her own goddamn dish. So next time, if you guys dare to call our Indian tea "chai tea" meaning "tea tea", I'll go over there and smack you!!
Sheesh peeeps chill out! Getting upset because it's called cowboy caviar and not pico de gallo... seriously.... stop taking life so seriously. You've let society and social media and news media dictate to you and heightened, your sensitivity. So Stop it!
I literally said in the beginning of the video this is basically just a salsa. I didn’t come up with the name, people are just so mad over anything it’s exhausting
@@melwise2007 yeah, that the problem! Education seems like it’s lacking. Learning about other cultures and the food, the correct language, where it comes from so on and so forth. It’s the lack of education
Let’s no go appropriating other peoples cultures. Let’s do research into where dishes originated. This is a Mexican/Latino dish called Pico de Gallo, not cowboy crap. Ok. Ok.
A quick Google search will tell you that “cowboy caviar” has been around for years and years. I literally said in the beginning it’s just a “salsa” but I’m recreating it because this recipe has recently gone viral and I’ve been asked to make my version of it probably hundreds of times. This is wild.
The original cowboys; Vaqueros, were from Mexico. Their skills in horse riding and herding were widely respected, so was their practical and nutritious cooking. Those aspects were shared with people from other cultures that had respect and a willingness to learn and adapt. It was not a matter of appropriating culture, but a matter of appreciating it. Ok?
@@iammisskriss no, that’s not what’s going on. So if took a traditional Italian dish that your grandparents and great grandparents cooked and passed down these recipes, and then you see someone who’s not Italian and making a traditional dish and just giving it a whole new name. Yes, try out our traditional dishes because that’s not the issue. The issue is , there isn’t any education about learning from other cultures and the traditional foods that have been a staple in our home and in our families. So the next time you go to a authentic Mexican restaurant, and you say cowboy caviar. They are going to look at you crazy because that’s not what it’s called.
I literally said in the beginning of the vide this is basically a salsa. I didn’t come up with the name of this, cowboy caviar has been around for DECADES, just recently it has gotten super popular and I’ve been asked to recreate it so I did. It’s not that deep, it’s not me disrespecting a culture, it’s really not. One quick Google search will tell you it’s not a new idea.
I understand completely but I didn’t make up the name, I’m simply making my version of a very popular recipe circling the internet right now, I didn’t create the name for it.
Delete a recipe that’s had the same title for the last decade????? A title I didn’t come up with? Recreating my Version (that I literally stated in the beginning of the video it’s just salsa) to share is that big of a deal? Not deleting.
THIS just pisses me off sooo bad!!!!! Dragged for what???? She's recreating a recipe that went viral that she didn't come up with the name!!!!! Damn y'all pressed! Who cares what it's called. She literally said a million times that she didn't come up with the name! And exactly what does she need to be apologizing for?!?!?! I'm soooo sorry Laura that you have to deal with this! I love you and your recipes always have and always will! 💕
"our recipes"? Enough of this swj nonsense. And respect? Respect is something earned. And after trying and tasting this delicious assembly of food, IT has my respect as does the creator of this video.
