Luv that you did this song! Freddie is really in his element here - a different vibe/side of himself showcased. When you see John beaming in Freddie's direction, you can tell they were really collaborators on this one. The Hot Space LP irks some Queen devotees, but if you lived in that very intense time, it really encapsulates that energy. And who doesn't love Freddie dancing with a fierceness that would seem to be the polar opposite of his quiet self -- but isn't.

Congratulations! Great! I think in England, "Back Chat" was their term for "back talk". This song was about how the band bickered, especially during this period. Though they were close like brothers, the band actually argued a lot through their time together in general, like four artists painting at one canvas, never sure of who's ideas would be included, or who sang lead etc. Yes, both Roger and Brian particularly hated the fact that most of the songs on this album were funk/soul/disco style, among other things. While he was concentrating hard, you can tell on Brian's face he was not having fun. Wow thx for the Back Chat Live at the Bowl! Never saw that - and gosh, the energy required was mesmerizing! I've got to see if there is a lyric video (or lyrics only) as I get lost in the pulse of it all. I suspect Brian and Roger felt the gulf between them and Freddie on this and related "disco/funk." There is that sense of isolation between the two camps and perhaps a harder push/sale from Freddie as a result.
