No auto tune. No computers, No profanity, Just Queen!! Saw them in concert twice!! I am 75 yo now, I still love them!! Listen to the Bee Gees Too Much Heaven!!
I think the band should get a special shout out just for being so in sync during all the live performances that everyone praises Freddie for. Yes he was the front man and he was amazing, but if the rest of them didn’t know him and each other so well they never would have been what they turned out to be.... which is god tier. All of them. Not just Freddie.
@@Drummer4President You are absolutely correct. The band itself is amazing, the musical talent and sync that those 4 guys had, was out of this world. They all knew that Queen were all of them, but Freddie was the most flamboyant, so people do talk more about him, but they all were, together, Queen, the best band ever 🤗🙏👑💖
@@Anisabell2 my dad was a roadie with their lighting in the 80s before I was born so I feel kind of protective over them as a whole lol He also did Meatloaf and some other 80s rock bands, but he told my mum not to come to any live show that wasn’t Queen, because they were all shit compared to them lol
There are rock bands, but there is only one Queen and they rule the world. Fun Fact: This song was sung long before autotune. The voices are their own with no computer manipulation.
queen were eclipsed and ridiculed by the punk movement because they were seen as self-indulgent prog-rockers. By the 80s they had become passe. Live aid came to their rescue. (you will say that they could still draw a crowd of 200,000 Brazilians - but Brazil was just emerging from a dictatorship where pop/rock was suppressed until 1980)
The genre transitions were as follows: Ballad > opera > rock n’ roll > Ballad The only song that achieved such diverse genre transitions in a single song ❤️
Only song? LOL. Rhapsody is a great little song, but not much different (and certainly no better) than One For The Vine by Genesis, and no where near several Yes and Pink Floyd epics. Not even close; but I do like the song.
The song is a metaphor about the son that that they raised [parents]. When he gives in entirely (married at the time to Mary) to his gay urges. The second segment are his good/decent side battling his party queen......
AGREE! I had to watch vids of it b/c I was too young to watch and know of it, but, he just COMMANDED that stage! And you can tell and see he was 'at home' on the stage and LOVED every second of it. He truly loved what he did.
Freddie Mercury - piano/guitar & lead singer Brian May - guitar/piano & backup singer Roger Taylor - drummer & backup singer John Deacon - bass player All members were college educated, all 4 wrote hit songs & are all in the Songwriters Hall of Fame, all played multiple instruments! Both backup singers have great voices, too!
And they are the only group that each member wrote a #1 song while members of the band. Freddy: Bohemian Rhapsody Roger: Radio Gaga Brian: We Will Rock You John: Another One Bites The Dust
I' m from Austria, so please apologize my English!!! I honestly want to thank you for the recognition for all Queen-members, nearly nobody honors this great musicians!!!
Freddie never liked to reveal the meaning of his songs. Many. Including his bandmates, consider Bohemian Rhapsody to be Freddie's coming out song...killing the "old" Freddie to make way for the new.
@@that.ll_do_pig In hindsight, I am of the belief that this song was written and 'inspired' (don't know if that is the best/correct word) by his diagnosis of AIDS?!?!
@@ian_bradley No he found out he was hiv positive in 1987. I have to admit when he sings; "Mama just killed a man" somehow he is referring to himself. Perhaps his coming out to himself, if you will.
The one bad thing about Bohemian Rhapsody is that it only lasts 5:55 minutes. It could last 10 minutes and still not be enough. :) I want a Bohemian Symphony!
Freddie Mercury.....and the whole band, put ALL their energy into their songs and they ALL have personal meaning to them all. Not many bands have been able to blend different styles of music so beautifully and seamlessly. Amazing! GREAT REACTION VIDEO❤
I was lucky enough to grow up with his Absolute Genius.Freddy called it a "rock Opera"the only one in existence. If you have ever listened to opera before, you can recognize the comparison.Freddy isn't dead. His fans will never let that happen. We will share his genius with generations.
Amazing fact about Queens' lead guitarist Brian May. He was actually working on getting his Ph.D in astrophysics when Queen was formed. Music meant so much to him so he put his doctorate on the back burner. After Freddie Mercury died, Queen disbanded. Even while still part of the group Brian and his father designed and built a new kind of guitar. Brian's IQ has been measured in the 160's. That's even beyond Big Bang Theory smart. So he was a real genius on top of being a musical genius. after Queen disbanded, Brian went back to working toward his doctorate. He finally got it in 2006 or 7. He's now Dr. Brian May Ph.D. He's also written about 6 books on the subject of astrophysics.
The amazing thing about this song, is that it had crystallized in Freddie's head, note-for-note, before he brought it to the band and very precisely instructed them on their parts. The band had no idea what the final product was supposed to sound like. They called it "Freddie's" nightmare. So maybe the song did originate from angels who then revealed to a very worthy musical prophet?🤔
@@3ScotsInk Oh, well, apparently there were originally three (or four?) separate songs Freddie was currently working on or had on the back burner, which he eventually merged to created BoRhap. One of those songs (IIRC) began with or contained the words 'Mama, just killed a man', and was originally envisaged as being a story about a cowboy! The cowboy concept was scrapped, but the 'Cowboy Song' tag I guess must have stuck. I heard it (BoRhap) was also sometimes referred to as 'Freddie's Thing'....
I read that this song was about his struggle with his identity. To become the person he really was he felt he'd be killing the person everyone knew. He was concerned that people would judge him harshly and leave him.
In the beginning when you see all four of them signing, actually it's only Freddie's voice, multitracked, he was harmonizing with himself. In the whole song they used more than 200 overdubs and the tape became almost transparent.
Actually Roger Taylor, the drummer sang the very high notes. I'm not sure about the others, but I thought that they all sang. I'd have to look it up, but I know about the drummer.
BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY is Freddie Mercury’s masterpiece but his best song is SOMEBODY TO LOVE. QUEEN’s catalog is massive!! There are so many great songs by Queen that weren’t even big hits. They were geniuses in writing & composing. They are in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame and Song Writer’s Hall of Fame. Now do their versions of SOMEBODY TO LOVE & BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY live in Montreal 1981. You’d love DRAGON ATTACK, too!
Hi to you guys. Maybe it's because they didn't had technology at that time, that they were abble to create that masterpiece. No computerized music and no autotune. They had talents, they knew how to play music!
This by no means is Queen’s only masterpiece. And Queen live surpasses all the studio versions. So check out another of their big hits, Somebody to Love live at Montreal 1981. Freddie’s voice will give you chills all over again
Bohemian Rhapsody was written, in 1975, by the late Freddie Mercury (lead vocals, pianist), the falsetto vocals was provided by Roger Taylor (vocals, drums), the bass player John Deacon (white suit), the guitar solos is by Brian May PhD (the guitarist with the striped shirt, playing a guitar he and his father made out of an old table top.)
Hey Guys! At that time when Freddie M. wrote this song, they had to go 6 different studios to record this song! It took 3 weeks! The song has three part. When you listen the 'operatic" section they sound like as if 160 people would sing because what you can here only 3 guy, Freddie, Brian and Roger and the recordings were layered top of each other for 24 times in the end the best studio at that time in London. I have just writen a book about Freddie Mercury life and interpreted all of his songs those that have secret meanings. This was his best song and he was singing about the most important thing what happened with him in 1976 eventually. I explain also why is the choire part, every word has a very special meaning. I love them so much, Freddie was a wonderful person and the others are the best musicians in the world. I wrote the book in hungarian and it's gonna be translated to English by next July and it will be available on Amazon. Anyway I watched this and others reacting because I am so proud of them and I also love to see when people's jows dropp to the floor. Please keep listening Queen music you'll never be dissapointed I promise. Anyway welcome in Wonderland! If you really want to see their top performance watch Live Aid 1985. Queen. You'll be amazed. Thank you for the reaction. I enjoyed it very much!!!! God bless you all who love Queen and their extremely good music. Happy Christmas for every Queen fun all over the world and a New Year without the Corona19.
Queen! Best frontman ever with the best voice of all time! Please do “Somebody to Love” live from Montreal 1981 and “Who Wants to Live Forever” live from Budapest! Also “Now I’m Here” live Wembley 1986. Love you guys...you’re so cute🥰
The breakdown of the composition according to wiki. 1. Intro, 2. Ballad, 3. Guitar Solo 4. Opera, 5. Hard Rock, 6. Outro Great reaction! I really enjoyed it.
Yes Queen were well educated, and I loved them from the first song I heard, Killer Queen; such intelligent sophisticated lyrics. So musical, so clever, even if it was about a high budget call girl. Brian May's solo in this song really established the Queen "sound". I look forward to watching you react to that one and to other Queen songs from their amazing discography.
Great reaction! You might know they did a movie about the coming together of Queen and it shows the making of this song and how their producer said "Bohemian Rhapsody" would never work and the world would hate it. They walked out on that dude and obviously proved him way wrong. But the movie is called "Bohemian Rhapsody" and it won four Oscars including Best Actor for the man who played Freddie. Check the movie out when you get a chance. : )
Dude in the plaid was feeling it the whole time, riding the waves of the song like a true pro. And other guy reaction was just like a first time reaction should be. Perfect transition between a new listener and someone who knows. Knows what? They just know.
This is a timeless classic. The lead singer is Freddie Mercury. He wrote the song(genius) He was and still is a legend and he sadly passed away from AIDS in 91. He's so missed ❤❤❤ Considered by many to be the greatest vocalist of all time. I def agree. There's no one like him 😍 In the beginning it's actually just Freddie singing. He did all the harmonies himself 🤭 The rest of the band is Brian May on guitar, Roger Taylor on drums and John Deacon on bass.
I was having fun seeing different reactions from one who hasn’t known the song well and from one who already knows the song and appreciates it’s artistry. It’s like guy #1 ‘what’s going on?’ While guy #2 ‘ooh, I can’t get over this masterpiece!’ 😂
A friend of mine who´s very much into music once said: "You can make music too perfect (meant in a somehow flat way). But Queen managed to master the perfection in inperfection."
Speaking as a sound recordist, I know that the vocals were all recorded on one 20 track tape. To get the vocals, it was reworked so many times, there were transparent patches, on it! A couple of interesting things about Brian May, the guitarist. Doesn't use a plectrum, he uses an old sixpence. Also, when not playing music, he's one of the world's leading theoretical physicists and was one of the people that worked on the Large Hardon Collider. Freddie, still to this day, has the largest vocal range, ever recorded.
Hellsbunnies TV, I hate to disagree with you, but Dimash in 2020 has the greatest range ever in human history, even better than Adam Lambert (who I love with Queen now). I just don't care for the genre that Dimash sings, every song sounds like opera.
@@janetconner2960 You're welcome to. However having worked in the music industry, for over 320 years and both those people are amazing. No. There's literally been no human, that had a six vocal range. Bass/Baritone to falsetto. I could talk to you about the science of it as I'm an acoustician. Lambert has a voice and a range that can make me cry. I'm not going to put him down, ever. When I say that Mercury has the best range, it's because no one has. It's biological freak. If you've been in a studio and seen the man sing. There's just nothing that you can compare to that. I was a Live Aid and I was also at the tribute concert.
Hellsbunnies TV, LOL, I'm not young either, but I recently read a comment saying that on notes too high for Freddie, Roger sang them and they blended together so well that most people never noticed, I think it was someone else in Queen or on the stage crew, so I can't verify that, but Roger did get higher than anyone else in Boh Rap so I guess it's entirely possible! I only deal in facts though, and if I'm not 100% sure, I'll say so.
I am the gentleman in the yellow. I have loved Queen since I was a child...I'm 40 now. The last 9 months I have EASILY watched 700 Bohemian Rhapsody reactions alone and EVERY TIME I get the chills. This masterpiece IS infamy.
@@decodolly1535 good catch lol, readin my comment back I can't recall even what I *meant* to say but I can't see why "infamy" was my chosen word 🤷♀️ idk what I may have put for auto correct to change it to that also??? Who knows. Regardless Queen, Freddie and this particular master piece are all as close to perfection and will forever hold dear to my heart. *THAT* was all my comment was to convey. Blessings to yah 😉
YES, Freddie was way ahead of his time !!! This song is truly Amazing, it is very interesting to listen to interviewers ask him about writing this song. I guess when they released this and it ran for lots longer than normal, a specific radio disk jockey got ahold of it and played it non stop for a while and it took off and that is history.
Just imagine, it is December 1975, this has just been released and you are watching the video for the first time on TV, it was an amazing event that changed music forever. I have loved Queen ever since. Have a look at the video of their Wembley Stadium concert in July 1986, I was there and it was one of the best nights ever.
Saw Queen twice, they were an opening band in early 70's at the Aragon, then as a headline act at the Auditorium. Glad to see how they progressed and conquered rock n roll.
I would strongly suggest the live version of Somebody to Love from Montreal 1981, Who Wants to Live Forever, also Montreal. Also, The Show Must Go On, the last song Freddie recorded before his death, and released posthumously. Talk about goosebumps. Brian May and the drummer Roger Taylor are very much alive, and along with Adam Lambert as vocalist toured as Queen last year. Adam doesn’t try to replace Freddie, but he is probably the best singer in the world to fill that role with Queen’s catalogue. They were scheduled for this year, but it was obviously cancelled. Brian then suffered a heart attack this past spring, but is slowly recovering. They still plan on some touring next year, so you guys might be able to see them live.

OMG i loved reaction. COMFORTABLY NUMB and BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY the best song ever.
Audience: Wonder which characters Freddie will conjure tonight? Freddie: Yes Absolute legend, no performer/front man comes close or ever will, in my opinion.... when they made Freddie, they broke the mould xxxxx
Great reaction, for me Queen is the best rock band in history and Freddie Mercury the best frontman. You have to react to Queen in live (the best concerts are Montreal '81, Wembley '86, live aid '85, Budapest '86, among others ...) New sub
Brohemian rhapsody. Hello gorgeous boys with attractive accents. I've seen your videos suggested in my feed before but since your reacting to this song you got me hooked. Let's give you a try
I was a teenager when this came out and instantly loved Queen. My Dad was a fan and when I was 18 he gave me Queen Sheer Heart Attack album. Please listen and select a track.....they are all good. At my tender age of 58 yrs I have a huge repertoire of music. Rock on guys.
Every time you listen to BoRhap, there’s something new. All 4 of these musicians were perfectionists always playing their hearts out. Their live performances are better than their studio recordings because they were/are REAL musicians in every sense of the word!
I remember hearing this for the first time when it was released I could not believe what I was hearing I can explain to you what it was like , the anticipation waiting for the next album to come out we don't get that any more . Also the record company did not want to release it as a single it was to long Freddie insisted , it was a BBC Radio 1 DJ who played 10 times on his radio show and the rest is as they say history . I've heard it many many time since then and still get the same feeling , now in my late 60s and still love Queen . Great reaction to the videos just amazing to still see young people still enjoying they're great music .
Please do "Live Aid 85 " I know there are some great concerts out there, and it might not be for Queen perfectionist, but this way we can watch you experience Freddie in full flow with his control over audience and condensed so we can see your reaction and feel your joy.
Thanks so much for your reaction, stunning! As a huge QUEEN fan I'm is very important to hear your words: FREDDIE didn't dead... Legends live forever! Welcome to your bro at the Queen experience! 👑❤️
I think they chose the sad and dramatic lyrics to fit into the "Opera Theme." Drama and Tragedy goes back to the ancient Greeks and Romans and their plays. If you are familiar with classic operas, they often have these tragic story lines. After all, their album name was "Night at The Opera." :-)
Their second album, second side, known as the Black side” is full of songs that make this sound like a cakewalk! (Don’t get me wrong, this song is PHENOMENAL!) Ogre Battle/Master Stroke/Nevermore/March of the Black Queen make up a big part of the second side and both “Ogre” and “Black Queen” will MELT YOUR FACE OFF!!! So many stereo tricks and VOCAL HARMONIES that can’t be outdone! Please do yourself a favor and listen to these and even their first album as well. Great reaction!!!!
I just wanted to say how much I loved your reaction. You really felt the passion and are obviously true music lovers. Respect and peace to you both. Try Somebody To Love live at Montreal 81 in HD - it is wonderful. Cheers!
