In the book when King George goes into his episodes he sees Charlotte as literally Venus and a Star. For Reynolds he sees the Sun. So when they are in the observatory in episode 2 and she had to yell his name he was starting to slip and did not hear her because he was seeing her as Venus in that moment ❤

It was a rite of passage which meant that the young woman was no longer a child, but an adult (and thus able to marry). Younger girls would therefore usually not be allowed to go to balls. This is why Violet's mother is telling her that she cannot go to the ball: she is not yet out!

George's condition and their love story is SO HEARTWRENCHING. and just knowing that their love story is what actually happened to them (ik that the show isn't exactly like what happened in real life, but the love story is pretty close to fact) it just makes it even more heartbreaking😭🥹🥺

this soundtrack has to be hands down my favorite of all the bridgerton soundtracks. This is just my kind of music. They had songs by SZA, Alicia Keys, Whitney Houston/Dolly Parton, and not one, not two, but THREE Beyoncé songs😭🤭

Girl, I feel you about the hands! My ex is an amazing pianist, and he has these big, strong, beautiful Black hands that I just fell in love with. They made me feel safe, secure, and cared for. Then on top of that, you add the magic that those hands create on the keys??? I was done for lol. AND he kept them manicured! (We just broke up and we're on good terms, which is why I feel comfortable talking about him like this lbs, just in case any commenters were going to try me lbs.)

fun fact: Many historians and scholars believe that the actual Queen Charlotte was descended from black people (this rumor has been around for a while, even before Bridgerton aired) Many different people would paint portraits of Queen Charlotte. In a lot of them, she looks like a regular white lady, but some portraits of her displayed her having some black features. These were done by artist who were known to be against slavery. At the time, painters would downplay features that were seen as "undesirable" (there is a scene like this in the later episodes) but these painters who were against slavery would paint her with these features. and it has been stated that Queen Charlotte was directly descended from a black branch of the portuguese royal house. ig we will never know the truth, but I kind of believe it😭🤭🫶🏽
