Queen Dizzy got her trailer and they ain't calling her Queen for nothing! Lots of fun gameplay here, and also the fact(as talked about later in the vid) she seems to be fully mature and in control of Necro & Undine is pretty cool character growth. She doesn't seem as fully re-invented as some other classic characters, but there's certainly some new stuff like BORROWING FROM JUSTICE'S MOVESET. Gonna be some fun times
I am so excited for this character definitely one of my favs. At first i was like where r her wings n then i was like oh yes full glowing butterfly mode, so cool! I hope they'll bring back the arrow super move from isuka n put their own spin on it. PS its interesting that that younger version of her looked like adult entertainment worker with very little clothing in the vein of ino, but now more grown up version is basically fully clothed, i guess it is maturity
@@pikachuattack542 honestly I basically fell completely off the granblue train. I don't know anything about that character other than a few twitter clips ive seen. Ive been playing Metaphor so any "side time" I normally have to get caught up on stuff is used up by that right now lol
Didn't go over every single change shown in the little balance preview cause well, this is the Dizzy video lol. If i did then it would be like 80% of the vid and not the dizzy vid anymore. When the time comes ill do the full breakdown no worries, should be interesting.
@@rooflemonger "awful" is definitely a way to put it. The changes as someone who likes the game and can view it in a competitive light, I can see the changes to Sparking and to each character to be pretty cool and fun, and gives every character some extra viability, while also being very insane and doing things Arcsys probably wouldn't. And let's be honest, it's been over 6 years since DBFZ released, I think it's absolutely fine for patches to go nuts.
Roofle I’m surprised you didn’t point it out but when the ice is on the floor, dizzy has more forward momentum when she does moves. Check the clip again before the throw, she slid the whole team doing that move while he was in blockstun! Keep fighting the good fight 🫡
I am curious if her pals being not as colorful as they were is a sign that maybe she has gained some control over them. That she can actually do something for herself as opposed to be the one that has to watch the fights play out in brutal fashion. Hell, the fact she is joining them in the attack as opposed to tackling one of her wings to stop them from nuking the opponent is pretty significant.
Dizzy has matured, now she has the spotlight. Their designs were changed to reflect that, now they compliment Dizzy’s design. Dizzy is strong enough to not need them to protect her anymore so instead of bickering while defending her and going overboard Dizzy is setting the pace and they help her as she needs. During the OD especially, she started the attack and Necro and Undine joined in
She's no longer getting beat up by her wings, so I certainly agree she's gained control. Necro isn't literally grabbing her tail and shoving her in the dirt when he sweeps (I'm assuming that normal after Bridget unfroze is sweep)
You're reading Gamma Ray somewhat wrong, actually. She's not joining her wings at all, it's the other way around! Look closely, she starts the beam herself, panics because it starts to slip from her control, Undine sweeps her hand across to help calm her down and join in, then Necro pops up and *actually waits for her to nod at him* before he joins in himself. Our girl is growing up! She's got control!
While Mortal Kombat has rebooted their series so many times their narrative has lost all meaning, Guilty Gear actually has the guts to let their characters grow over time and stick to those changes. People talk about how story doesn't matter in fighting games, but when the story is as present and tied to the gameplay as it is with Dizzy, it's very much relevant. She went from being a boss character everyone was out to kill, to a secret wife and mother, to a queen who finally embraces her powers. Ya love to see it.
I am a +R Dizzy player who has been waiting for this character from day one. I have already watched the trailer a couple times trying to learn whatever I can. Looking at her normals the big axe swing is clearly Xrd 2H, the Narwhal is probably Xrd 6H overhead, the close range icicle hit is likely c.5S and the multi hitting move that freezes is probably +R f.5S/Xrd 4S. Notably we didn't see her go airborne outside of her Dust combo, which is weird since having a double airdash is one of her defining traits in older games. If they removed her traditional air mobility I expect the replacement has something to do with her wings, or it could be something like what Gio has with the tension meter. Another factor of her strength in older games is that fish takes the hit for you if you are close to it, which they also didn't show, though I assume that is still intact. Being able to freeze people and go into a restand mixup/setup is almost always super strong, so I am looking forwards to that. On the other hand sword is cool, but they only showed it as a combo ender, which makes me wonder how useful it will actually be, because if it only works as a combo ender then ending with a move that freezes is probably better. At least being able to freeze people means Gamma Ray may finally be useful in a real match and not just a gimmick that costs all your meter. Lastly we can't tell if dagger has homing properties from this trailer since she only uses it at close range.
Dizzy looks amazing she got Michael Sword back, it's a lot to digest I'm still rewatching the trailer. Hopefully we get a character guide soon. Overall, I'm happy to have Dizzy back, favorite character in guilty gear. Great video Rooflemonger
I used to have a saying back in Xrd when I was only a minor GG fan: No Dizzy No Deal. I tried that with Strive but the consistent talk about it online drew me to it and thus I embraced Sol Badguy as my main and Strive became the fighting game alongside Smash Ultimate FP 2 (Pyra/Mythra specifically) that kicked off my true dedication to fighting games that hasn't stopped since 2021. Now that Dizzy is here its time to give Strive more attention cause this rework has got me PUMPED to play again
Wait... they're giving ARMOR to Potemkin Buster?!?! This can't be right, god would not allow me to get away with this, I don't even play Clark or Dino. Anyway, mankind knew that they could not change society, so they DID reflect on themselves and became the beasts
I knew Arcsys would re-introduce more and more wild stuff as time goes - and here we are. Also in terms of visuals GG is just in another league - not that the other offerings look bad or anything but just the amount of effort put in each character appearance is insane.
4:24, As a lifelong Sub-Zero main that statement hurts my soul, you're not wrong though. I blame Bi-Han being inferior to Kuai Liang in every way, bring back Kuai Liang Sub-Zero NetherRealm! In the meantime I welcome our new ice queen with open arms.
@@lukejones7164 Right sorry, briefly lost my mind for a sec there lol. I've refused to accept Kuai was Scorpion now so I always referred to new MK1 Scorp as Hanzo out of habit.
beautiful. She reminds me so much of hotaru futaba and I love the developers are giving the character treatment she deserves going forward also kira hit it for voicing dizzy cuz it literally almost sounds like suzie yeung voicing hotaru for cotw though i still hoping to see hotaru in kofxv
Another detail is the ice left by the pillar special allows characters to slide on it, which lets dizzy start up her attacks before getting to the frozen opponent in the trailer
Character development after 24 years. She’s actually using her power. I also like how they gave her back her halo but instead of dark it’s like a glowing halo.
Love Dizzy as a character, I absolutely hate playing against her already and that's with xrd mechanics, not looking forward to strive dizzy. It will be very funny to see all the slayer players coasting by get absolutely fried though. And I'm happy for dizzy fans!
My second favorite Fighting Game, from the modern era. I was personally hoping Dizzy made it in. I just want Jam, now. 2024 has been legendary for Fighting Games. I'm happy to see this new chapter in Fighting Games.
She looks pretty Cool. The animations are beautiful. I think we got a new Character dropping in Grand Blue Fantasy Vs the same day so it'll be a fun night. I'll be Throwing Candy out the front Door at Trick or Treaters in the middle of my Fights. 😆
Yo Testament is a grappler now! Dizzy is cool but i need good buffs to low tiers. Game got a bit stale when the top tiers and low tiers stayed mostly the same
I dunno if im tweaking, buy i SWEAR when the floor becomes ice Dizzy is Sliding on the ice allowing her to confirm short normals from mid range ...some check me plz
Strive got a 50% discount on Steam right now, is it worth buying? Basically been a Street Fighter and Smash main for years and never really tried any other fighting game franchises, but I'm willing to change that. I don't play that much online, so I don't really mind that I'm too late to the party when it comes to the online meta. Is it worth it for 20 bucks? How is the singleplayer content in this game?
The single player content is serviceable, other then arcade and survival mode the "only" other thing you get are the mission which are fantastic, probably the best tutorial out there and some of them are really challenging and dive into very deep mechanics (Kara cancels and Roman cancel cancel). Oh and story mode which are just cutscene but really cool. Online play is very good, net code is very consistent and the tower sistem although a bit strange and frustrating if you want to reach celestial, really allows you to match against people of your level. (Also the discord has many tournaments but that's outside the game.) For the gameplay by itself, it's different from other gulty gears (every "big" guilty gear is different from each other) and in this one we have very cool combination of street fighter mixed with core of guilty gear (bursts, roman cancels, gatling combinations, tension ecc). The game is fast and very frenetic, even zoner get in to throw hands. Also, like other anime fgs, the character have some type of very specific gimmicks like bars or item throws or statuses, Immagine something like Jamie drinks but much more explored. There are simple ones like KY and testament (KY is pretty much the ryu/ken of gg), nago, sin and Gold Lewis for example are a bit more complicated... And then you have characters like bedman and especially Asuka that play on another plane of existence (Asuka being the most unique characters ever, basically play mtg). Also music and visual are 10/10,no debate. Overall, I'd say I'm very satisfied with strive and I think you will find yourself a kind of second home coming from street fighter. Meaby the only problem is the kind of lack single player content.
Welcome almighty Queen Dizzy, but in base of her trailer, she use in the majority the Ice Powers, almost dont use the fire version, only need to wait for the Character Guide, Roof.
Not super familiar with GG lore, but Vialattea sounds like Milky Way to me (Vía Lactea in spanish, via Lattea in Italian). Is the milky way related to the lore?
I want to see my boy get the strong big boy buffs that allow him to be the biggest and bestest of boys. Potemkin is going to need them buffs (like armored Pot Bust) if he is to destroy his competition :3
