I remember visiting the Queen Mary at the end of July. It was a fun experience. Crazy to think that an early 20th century ocean liner is still around. I'm glad you had a great time on the ship!

1) It's a ship, not a boat. 2) It wasn't you who said 'Queen Mary' was "hoisted out of the water" for repairs. The ship was _never_ hoisted. It was towed into a dry dock, which was then drained, leaving the ship sitting on blocks. Once maintenance and repairs were complete, the dry dock was flooded again, floating the ship, which was then towed out again. 3) The line is "I'm king of the world" and he was standing at the prow, not the stern. 4) The model with the cars in it is not a model of 'Titanic'. It's a model of 'Normandie'. 6) "Lusitania" is pronounced "lusitaynia", not "lusitaania". 6) You looked good dressed for dinner. 7) I did a day visit to 'Queen Mary'. I started one of the tours, but, found the guide to be pretty infantilizing, talking to the group like it was a kindergarten class. So, I went around on my own. (I've known about and learned about 'Queen Mary' since I was a kid.) I think the ghost tours are a bit silly and the ship needs work; but, the latter is ongoing. So, over the next decade, 'Queen Mary' should be looking better. 2034 is her 100th year. I'd still recommend people visit, too.

_RMS Queen Mary_ was also known as 'Rolling Mary' because she had a constant, slow roll, so they had to install handrails in passenger spaces, as well as 'the Grey Ghost' during her war years. An ocean liner's best defense against U-boat attacks was her speed, and _Queen Mary_ was built for speed, just like _Lusitania_ and _Mauretania_ were before her. Unfortunately, one of _Queen Mary_ 's chief competitors, _SS Normandie_ , had to be scrapped after a fire and she capsized before the US could convert her into a troop ship. It would have been nice to be able to tour such a ship as well, she had a revolutionary design for the time. I believe _SS United States_ can be toured with special permission, as she's not open to the public. While her interior was gutted to remove the asbestos, she still has her engines. Her propellers were a US military state secret, as they were part of what made her the fastest ocean liner ever built, even to this day.

I wonder where the ghosts came from? During the years of 1975 through 1980, the Queen Mary was my second home. I went there almost a every weekend, knew every inch of the ship. Was friends with the lady who operated the Wax museum, and others who worked there. Used to ride the British double decker bus for a dime to Downtiwn LB and back. But never once have i seen anything wierd or even heard of a haunting. Makes for good buisness i guess.

@@gregtrain1 yes it’s featured a lot for ghosts. I’ve seen some of them before going 😊 part of the research 😉 but as I’ve mentioned in the video, it’s best to have the tour coz a lot of the Internet stories are not true.
