I love hearing Brian and Roger--I know well that Queen loved The Beatles, and Lennon and Elvis were Freddie's two performance idols. Brian still resents that he lived in London and his parents wouldn't allow him to see The Beatles when he was young. I love to hear Brian and Roger, and Paul has a great voice. I believe this was two weeks after the bombing.
My brothers favorite group was Queen and he could sing just like him. He had all their music and the Beatles RIP Freddie, John and Gregory Hurst.I miss you all😢❤
the tears are flowing..in the world as it is today ..to see other artists sing this wonderful song ...reminds us that love life love and peace iis still the most powerful message of all....
As a great John Lennon fan and a Queen fan I must say that this performance is nothing but outstanding! And I hope the people of the world can come together and be as ONE!
I'm with ya, my new friend!!! Let's GIVE peace a chance, yes? God knows we've proven the current way isn't worth a damn....let's all try living and being with each other and find a way to make togetherness and sharing the things of the world! There is plenty to share. It does, after all, belong to us....equally.
How sweet is the memory of John Lennon when it lives on in a performance like this. I can imagine a world without war humanity living in peace and harmony, can't you?
Roger and Brian. The biggest friendship I've seen. They are always together many years.Since they made that little band called "Smile" and then became the legendary "Queen".
Queen and Lennon- both great performers- and then a horrible disease taking Freddie from us, and a deranged fan who thought he had the right to kill John. I am 78 years old and I live in South Africa. The Beatles were banned for many years because of what John had said about religion. I have visited Central Park many times- I was gratified to visit "Strawberry Fields Forever" and more so the little memorial where South Africa is also listed. While the medical advances made over the years dealt with Aids, thereby saving so very many from the disease, outright murder is so very prevalent every where in the World can never be justified. As a lawyer I have always fought against the death penalty anywhere, and when it was finally abolished, I felt vindicated. Our World needs more Freddie and John.
paul rodgers is just carrying on a legacy not trying to replace freddie...paul rodgers is one of the greatest rock legends ever...freddie was queen..paul was free...together they are beautiful!
very nice cover, brian sings, roger, sings, paul sings... grest guitar is great. i like when the drums come in the middle, nice playing, rog Queen&Paul Rodgers FOREVER!!!! thank you for the video. i watch it every day.
Just a small part of how Roger feels, but he was forced to be a choir boy, for his school scholarship. (Also Paul McCartney, I think.) I'm sure Roger was the best and most beautiful one ever--a dangerous thing. I've wondered if that's why he had what Freddie called his "dog whistle!"
Somebody posted a comment down below saying Paul Rodgers was not a legend. smh. I kinda agree. I'll call Rodgers an Rock icon. I think the nickname legend should be saved for Freddie and Lennon.
PaulJackson1988 + So you are inferring a rock legend is when a rock star is dead ? both Lennon and Freddie are legends. Clapton and Jeff Beck are rock legends they are still alive..
this pewrformance was actually dedicated to those who lost their lives in what was then the very recent 7/7 terrorist attacks in london. GREAT performance anyway regardless of the circumstances!
@Julianbc01 To clarify, Freddie Mercury is a legend. Paul Rodgers is a LIVING legend...as is Brian May & Roger Taylor...John Deacon too...(Even though he's retired.)
this song is for freddie and john lennon, as well as all those who died in the terrorist attacks in london. its kind of sad that freddie and john, both very talented people, both died so young...
They sang this song becuase the concert was a week after the London bombings. In fact the concert was delayed for a week. Great tune, very poignant, I was there with my son, great night never to be forgotten.
Lennon was right, they were more popular than Jesus, to the kids at the time, Why do all these people kill for? religion. Well, Imagine no possessions, no religion too. No greed or hunger. I'm telling you, there will never be another Lennon, as for that, The Beatles will never be topped, ever, they came at the right time, the right place, and the most perfect music for all us young people to listen to. Nothing compares to them, nothing ever will. The End!!
touching tribute to a wonderful talented musician- even he said Lennon was 1 of the greatest musicians ever--John Lennon let's hope John wasn't the only one- everyone imagine!
@sparky1184 you got that spot on my friend!!! Paul Rodgers talent has NO bounds!!! He did the Queen concerts ( and they blew me away) but he was true to himself and did Freddie justice in doing so!! He Is AWESOME!!!
