Roger Taylor is the secret weapon in this performance. Everyone knows how great Freddie was, but Taylor and May's vocals were such a huge, yet overlooked, part of their vocal sound. Roger is just KILLING it on this.

That song is just so damn special. From the point of lyrics: Find me somebody to love! That is almost unique. Most songs are just somebody should/has to love me. Freddie was an unbeatable stage presence! Don't care who is better or you like more. He just owned the stage and crowd. And the whole band itself! The moment you see Roger beating the drums AND sing... priceless. Not only is he a really good drummer... he is a damn good vocalist too. Your daughter should listen to this too!

He was as in love with and enthralled with Freddie as the rest of us. Saw them walking together and Freddie was so tall and in command...had such a presence...and MJ looked so small next to him...looking up at him like a puppy in love! Thanks for each and every reaction. I'm a huge Queen fan (I was at the July 1986 Wembley concert). To the people who criticize you when you stop the video: Pshaw!! You stop the video so you're not trying to talk over it. And your unbridled enthusiasm for the music -- which is contagious, BTW -- is what makes your reactions honest. And since this is a reaction channel rather than a let's watch music videos channel, that's how it should be. Please keep on keepin' on. And it's great that you involve your kids. It expands their music horizons, and makes for a great family activity. You're a good Dad.
@annoyingme7743
@annoyingme7743 5 лет назад
I disagree. I think the commentary can be saved for the end. It really kills the moment when pausing. You can’t feel the passion as much.
@briangraham5156
@briangraham5156 5 лет назад
@@annoyingme7743 : It may halt the moment in the music briefly, but it creates the moment in the reaction. That is critical for a reaction channel. You can't feel as much of the passion in the music when it stops and starts, but the spontaneity in the passion of the reactor is greatly enhanced when everything is not saved until the end. That's also why it's so great that the music Glitch is reacting to is readily available on RU-vid for those who want to view a music video without interruption.

@@rock_it9533 I had just wrapped up a contract on a pantomime (Jack and The Beanstalk) that toured England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. I was there on the 12th with some of my cast mates. Our seats were at the far end of the stadium from the stage, slightly to the left, in the second-to-last row of seats under the roof. But being surrounded by about 72k other Queen fans was electric. It was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. As I wrote in a post for a Live Aid/Queen reaction video, I felt that Freddie grabbed hold of part of my soul when he walked on stage, and only released it a couple of hours after the concert had ended.

The first time was a few months before this was filmed, during the opeing leg of the US tour for the Game album September 1980 and again in July of 1982 for the Hot Space tour, Billy Squier opened for them. Now that's someone you should have your kids react to, Lonely is the Night, My Kinda Lover, The Stroke, Too Daze Gone, In the Dark all rock classics. I thought the whole venue was going to explode..!! everybody went nuts, the police was in front of the stage the whole time during the concert looking at us, wearing white helmets with the PM logo (Policia Metropolitana), billy clubs, guns and a stern look on their eyes. Unforgettable experience. With the release of the movie about Freddy Mercury's life, that experience is even more significant to me. He definitely was and is one of if not the greatest frontmen of all time, as you said, no one else has ever achieved what queen did, and especially with their performance at live aid, they pretty much set the standard for what live shows should be, and here in the UK, if you don't like Queen, we pretty much just ignore you in every way possible lol, also Freddie as a whole, there's no other artist I know of that still to this day bares as much deep love from the public world wide that he does, he just enticed and drew you in with every song and every performance. Heaven truly gained an angel the day he passed that's for sure, and as Brian said, with a tear in his eye, he really wishes Freddie was here to see their continued success and the publics never ending love for Freddie worldwide. But as in the lyrics of the show must go on (one of my most closely relatable and personal favourites) the lines, "My soul is painted like the wings of butterflies, fairytales of yesterday, will grow but never die, I can fly my friends" such a beautiful line and written obviously Freddie and Brian whilst Freddie was getting worse by the day health wise. That song is pretty much his autobiography to and for us.

Let me just say, I have a huge passion for music... Pearl Jam, DMB, Queen, Jack Johnson, Chris Cornell (RIP, I miss you 3,000), amongst so many others... I hope one day I can get my children (12 year old girl and 5 year old boy) to enjoy music that I love the way you have with yours. And I also hope that one day one of my children can introduce some decent music to me. I love watching younger generations appreciate the fantastic music from previous generations and when that appreciation is shared between parent and child, there is NOTHING better!!! Love it!! I’m a die hard Pearl Jam fan and try not to force it down their throats as you like what you like. I can’t wait to take my daughter to her first PJ show (I’ve been to 42). Fantastic stuff!!

We all mourn the loss of Freddie but at 68 years old I am so looking forward to seeing Queen with Adam Lambert in June 2020 at the O2 in London. Old rockers never die!!

Ahh Freddie we miss you man. You know it makes you wonder about all these great artists who have passed and if they were still around today, the music they could still be producing but sadly we could never hear..

I love that you’re teaching your kids the « classics of Rick ´n Roll... be sure to tell them that Freddie Mercury’s beautiful live vocals are even more impressive because that was BEFORE the corrective software in today’s performers’ microphones that can adjust iff-key singing by as much as ½ pitch! Freddie’s voice is PURE!

I defy you to point me to one star today (just one) who can deliver such incredible charisma, and impact the stage to the point of literally directing an audience of 50 thousand people the way a movie director manipulates a scene....Freddies sheer talent, and unparalelled style were to rock -pop music what Beethoven, Mozart, and Brahms were to classical . Just WOW....

This is an amazing performance but also illustrates how integral the other musicians were to this group. Taylor, for example, is over there doing the backing vocals AND drumming. The others are rocking right along. The four of them were so fantastic together.

Great reaction thanks! No auto tune, no tracks just pure talent, the energy they give is outstanding. Roger's back up vocal while keeping the beat is just amazing. Please do some 70's songs like White queen live at the Odeon,Hammersmith, You take my breath away live at Hyde park and then the studio version, the prophet's song studio version...for beginning, there are so many more to enjoy. And I do like your energy, it shows you like them, don't change a thing. I like the superman t shirt. Someone wrote Superman should wear a Freddie's t shirt.

I always thought that Freddie Mercury singing with all his body...... with every pore... through his entire humanity... every fiber of his body was singing with him!!! I feel the same every time I saw him in a concert ... every time he closed his eyes and let his head back behind ... every time his hands and fingers flew up and down trough his microphone 🎤 (please Sorry about my poor English)

Freddy wrote this song loosely about himself. He was very lonely much of his life, especially his early life - first trying to understand being gay and then to find someone who really cared about him. The first true love he had after coming out really just used him. But he lived through it and this song helped the healing process and let him find himself in his music. I think that's that why he is so passionate when he did this song. He is always a huge stage presence but this song really used to bring the best out.

Hey guys! Great video first of all!🤘🏻 and you know what I think makes Queen so special is the fact that they harmonize so well together! And I’m not only talking about their voices harmonizing but also about them as persons!♥️ Freddie for example never considered himself as „the leader of the band“. He always explained that he’s just the lead singer but that they are four equal people and that everyone is just as important for the band than the other. I think it’s a very rare thing to hear from a rockstar/band nowadays but also from one back then! The talent of the four is just incredible! No wonder that they are actually the only band world wide in which every member wrote at least one no. 1 hit!👍🏻 And beside Freddie Brian and Roger are amazing singers as well!!😳 They are actually lead singing lots of songs on the albums!👌🏻 Sad that John always thought he couldn’t sing that well😌😊 would’ve loved to hear him sing😚 see ya !!
