Freddie sings this song well but it is Brian's song and very much about his own life and all the tragedy that came to it. You need to react to this song by Brian solo and do use the video version, the video is powerful as well.. The emotion that Brian delivers to the song and the sweetness of his voice make it a real tear-jerker for me. I love both the Queen and The Brian May versions but I think in this case, Brian's solo edges out the Queen version.
Amazing song 🎶 Freddie never had the chance to sing it live - it was recorded 1989 and released 1992, after his death in 1991. You should hear Brian May's version too - it's awesome.
@@karinkrenn I watched the Freddie Mercury concert where Brian performed it playing on keyboard only (and it's probably the best version) and year later it was released on his solo album.
Too Much Love Will Kill You" is a song written by British guitarist Brian May of Queen, Frank Musker and Elizabeth Lamers. The song reflected the breakdown of May's first marriage and attraction to his future wife, Anita Dobson.
An amazing song from Brian. Freddie most definitely makes you feel it. One of his best vocals IMO Brian’s rendition is so emotional, a different vibe bc it’s so personal.
This song has a complicated history that makes it hard to interpret. It was written primarily by Queen guitarist Brian May, with two co-writers who were not Queen members. It tells the story of someone who has two lovers and has to choose between them. This appears to be based on Brian's life: he separated from his wife in 1988 and was reported to be having an affair with another woman who later became his second wife. Brian had intended the song for his single album but it took him five years to complete. Meanwhile, Brian showed the song to the band and when he heard Freddie singing the words, he said he knew that Queen had to record this song. Regardless of Brian’s intent, Freddie may have had other ideas about the song’s meaning, which could have influenced how he sung it. He probably connected the title with the facts that he had had sex with many partners and was dying of AIDS.
He co wrote it in 87 His wife had their third child found about the affair they split up He wrote this while Freddie was doing Barcalona Brian wanted it on the miracle album I dont think it went on when they realised it was co written not sure
