I cry just at the title of this song. Just an amazing performance. Freddie can give us his emotions. Brian wrote this...he wrote a number of great songs...for Freddie to sing. Brian’s studio cut of this is very good. Different, but good & it’s his story.

A Winter’s Tale is a beautiful, gentler song where Freddie wrote about what he saw while looking out his window either in a hospital or recovering at home (Switzerland at the time.) Such a beautiful song. Brian wrote it when he was going through a tough personal situation. Please react to a very early live performance of White Queen live at Hammersmith Oden 1975. It was Christmas Eve and Queen was invited to perform a live concert by the BBC to be televised. It was right after their release of the monstrous hit Bohemian Rhapsody that made them a household name. It’s the first time I was totally amazed at this mans voice live. Also, please at some point react to their history making 1985 Live Aid performance.

This is one of my favorite songs of their's. His vocals can not be paralleled. Brian May wrote the song about his divorce from his first wife and his moving on with his new love. Brian has a solo version of this as well and he sings it really well but no one could sing it like Freddie. His voice is not just spot on, its so full of passion and charisma. Not many singers have all those things in one voice. Thank you so much for reacting to Queen. I love this song, absolutely one of my favourites. It’s hard for me to decide whether I prefer Freddie’s version or Brian’s. They’re both beautiful, each man brings their own emotions to it, but Brian’s is more personal considering he wrote it about his marriage breakup.

Released in 1995 on the Made in Heaven album with Fred's voice, after Freddie died in 1991, although performed in public for the first time at his tribute concert in 1992, Brian's solo arrangement. Freddie recorded the lyrics in the studio when he was sick in 1989. It was suppose to be on the Miracle album, but didn't make the cut. Brian wrote the words in 1989 about his divorce and falling in love in love with Anita. His dad also died then.

Beautiful song by Brian May. I think that this was one of the songs that Freddie recorded towards the end and was either too sick or had already passed when the video was made which is why the old clips are used. I loved your reaction, sometimes I go all fan girl over QUEEN too.

This song is so sad. It makes me think of what he went through in his life. Not knowing what love was until Jim Hutton showed up and taught him the meaning of the word. But by then, it was already too late. That is why Brian May wrote the song. Thank you so much for sharing this video and reaction with all of us. This gorgeous song was written by Brian May, who recorded his own version on one of his solo albums. The song was actually written about Brian’s first marriage falling apart as he was falling in love with the woman who became his second (and current) wife. The Freddie/Queen version is beautiful and powerful... but I hope you consider reacting to Brain’s solo version, which is a different “flavor”, laying his soul bare. I love both versions. Freddie killed this, and because he was close to the end of his life, the song took on a different life, like in power but unlike in tone than the original-The original version was written and sung by Brian May, and it was about the emotional battle he fought against himself, when his marriage fell apart-At the time he was falling out of love with his wife and falling in love with Anita Dobson, the woman who would become his future wife, and with whom he was cheating on his wife with. The conflict is felt strongly. You feel his heartache. His pain. It’s almost a toss up which version is better, but I guess it depends what you want to feel. The lyrics are more accurate to Brian, but the words when matched with Freddie’s voice and the back knowledge about what was happening to him. Dying. Make the song as powerful or more powerful. Both men have great voices, although Freddie is the greatest-But in Brian’s version you can feel how personal the words are to him, and you see the pain etched in his face.

This is one of the best reactions I've ever seen, bar none. I know it's 3 years later, but your insight is spot on. Having said that, you must watch Brian May's version of this. It was extremely personal for him to write this song about his divorce. He has three children. The Brian May version is much better, in my opinion. Freddie can do it all, but Brian owns this one.

As many others have noted. BRIAN wrote it and played Amazing guitar on it too. Shame on you for making this all about Freddie and not the band. Freddie is not the leader of the band. Just the lead singer. Even though both Brian and Roger sometines sing lead too. For your education check out Brian’s solo version of the same song.
