This is freaken awesome. I love Freddie Mercury and I get to hear him through Marc Martel now. I hope they tour in the U.S. I am definitely going to their concert
I've listened to the reasoning for Roger cutting back to 5 in the Queen Extravaganza. 1. He never thought he would find instrumentalists that could carry the vocals, or that 2. anyone like Marc Martel existed. Martel sings and plays guitars, bass and keyboards. Warren (the drummer!) plays all guitars including mandolin and can sing like Geddy Lee (Rush). Radcliffe and Doyon play their parts with ease and can sing too. What made Queen great was their depth of talent, and it's been recreated in this band.
The drummer and vocalist are better at guitar than most lead guitarists in other bands. Check out Tyler's cover of Rush's Freewill, and Marc doing lead electric guitar in his band Downhere.
Just when you think he’s the highest singer in the world, then the other guy starts singing harmonies above!!!makes Michael Jackson sound like Johnny Cash
+ShortBusUs I agree! Most importantly Martel is true to himself and his artistry, unlike Lambert who, in my opinion, has a tendency to copy Freddies' phrasings and note-by-note. Mercury himself once said something like: if we were to play all songs like the way it sounds on the album, there would be no reason for people to come see us. In that regard "Queen" of today has tarnished the legacy of King Mercury. Anyway, that's just MY humble opinion.
