It's interesting that you drove past 63Rd & Queens Boulevard. I pass by that area everyday to take the subway.

Love your videos but you missed a chunk of it....Queens Blvd actually starts at Jamaica Ave....you skipped the section that runs thru Jamaica/Briarwood

Good but two corrections. (1) it's Thomson Avenue and when you went left on to Thomson Ave. Queens Blvd. does continue by going to the right (over the Sunnyside Railroad yards) to the Queensboro Bridge (lower roadway). No smart New Yorker use the upper roadway roadway which often has massive back ups at either end.

You're going to be surprised though, I managed to catch the upper roadway in all its glory with little traffic.

If you reallllly want an interesting ride, go on the 59th Street - why manhatanites call it the 59th St. Bridge - outside (ex. Trolley) lane/way. It only goes FROM Manhattan to Queens. It can be hard to get to but the view south is basically unobstructed, as you're outside the bridge structure. Point your camera to right - if you can. Also the ride is tricky for a number of risky/tricky reasons. As always thank you for your videos. RG

You're bouncing around, aren't you? :-) I hate Queens Blvd - you would think that side road helps but it's still jammed up. I don't remember parts of the ride (but then again - that was late 1990's - early 2k) - I used to occasionally take the "long" shortcut from the LIE/Queens Blvd to the bridge via Queens Blvd because the LIE to Van Dam is backed up. It really is amazing what you pick up when someone else is driving. I should post a video of Rt. 25 by me - completely different.

It sounds like if you're coming from Long Island to the city you don't have many choices. Either that or there's just so many people that every choice is congested 😂

Queens is my hometown but move out a year ago. The speed limit being 25mph you feel like your crawling 😭🤣.

Well, it's the city-wide speed limit for the entire city of new York, except where posted otherwise or alleys and highways where the speed limit is either way lower or way higher. They did this for pedestrian safety because a lot of people got hit by cars and seriously injured or killed and cyclists too. The previous citywide speed limit was 30 unless posted otherwise. They did studies and learned 25 and below is the safest because a pedestrian struck at that speed is more likely to survive and not get severely injured when struck at that speed. It also gives drivers more time to react, makes seeing easier, lowers the distance it takes to brake and stop. Queens boulevard used to be nicknamed the boulevard of death because of how many pedestrians and cyclists got hit, injured, and killed. It was also nicknamed the boulevard of broken bones for that same reason. New York city is and has been doing a vision zero campaign for the part decade to lower traffic deaths and they are lower than they were in the '90s and 2000s and before, but they have been trying to make it safer for decades now. Guess you better not out of new York city as a whole as they are trying to become safer, less car-centric, and more pedestrian and bicyclist friendly and encourage public transit so people do not have to die getting around anymore, walking, biking, and encourage alternate ways of getting around, lessen the pollution that has plagued new York and make it so people do not bike on smog so much anymore.

0:30 can they put more names on that funeral home, I remember when it was just Schwartz bros... I was there for the wake of the Donal Manes look him up if you don't remember, this guy was a Joker. Also at 0:50 if you look on the right side of the street there is a fire station, 3 doors down from the fire station at 111-16 Queens Blvd, now called Shogun Hibachi Grill, back in the day it was called the Suite club and was owned by Non-other- than Good fellow's Henry Hill, this is where Tommy Desimone Beat Billy Bats with the butt of his gun, over the shoe shine box joke. Also, two doors down was the real Morries wig shop. Great Video by the way ...
