I love their chord progressions. Instead of repeating, they go in unexpected directions, sometimes spanning several measures. Musically complex, yet easy to listen to. Infinite replayability.
Yep... I only heard people saying ""time heals all the wounds """.... But after listening to this... It is very true that ""time wounds all the heals""... You got a very good music taste buddy...
*LYRICS* I sat by the ocean And drank a potion, baby to erase you Face down in the boulevard yet I couldn't face you There ain't no use in cryin' It doesn't change anything, so baby what good does it do? Your friends they'll sympathize, maybe I don't need them to Imagine I'd be your one and only Instead I'm the lonely one You, me, and a lie Silence is closer We're passing ships in the night There's nowhere to run away Said, 'Boy if you want love, you'll have to go and find it with someone new' 'Do you know who you really are? Are you sure it's really you'? Lies are a funny thing They slip through your fingertips because they never happened to you Time wounds all the heals as we fade out of view Imagine I'd be your one and only Instead I'm the lonely one You, me, and a lie Silence is closer We're passing ships in the night You, me, and a lie Silence is closer We're passing ships in the night Into the light, left with nowhere to hide Closer and closer We're crashing ships in the night
I loved queens since I was 6 years old, they’ve never gotten old. This was my favourite song when I was little, the nostalgia is insane. I saw them twice in Melbourne, and they’re performances was insanely good. 100% one of the best bands in the world.
@Brady80 appreciate it man its getting sooo much easier every day staying sober i had my fun for years with drugs and alcohol i dont plan on going back at all

Alright lyrics, but a pity of these five clichés: - "your one and only" - "I'm the lonely one" - "passing ships in the night" - "nowhere to run away" - "nowhere to hide" You can hear those lines in a thousand songs.
@@michavandam Are you suggesting someone ought to come up with some new, fresh cliches? Ones no one has heard yet...... That would really be something!
@@michavandam I mean it's such a petty thing to gripe about; so many artists have come and gone over the years, nothing can ever be "novel" again. There isn't anything new to explore lyrically, except how they're arranged and how they flow.
I'm so happy to see people coming back around to this album. It was at least 5 years ahead of its time if you ask me, and with ITNR being such a great collection of sounds from Queens past, this is one fantastic album. Easily one of their best IMHO, especially with all the guests on it (Elton John on Fairweather Friends, anyone?). Songs for the Deaf is another masterpiece but got way more love than this album. So glad to see this previously underrated record get this love!!!
In the last year I've been stricken with a complex breathing issue that defies diagnosis and treatment. Today, an ENT specialist took particular interest in not being able to sing anymore. So we're gonna do another appointment where they put a camera back in my neck and watch what happens when I sing this song. I'll probably get thru the first verse fine, and then my falsetto will start to break up, and the transitions will swing wildly. So ya Ocean is gonna be a medical diagnostic tool.
That's really cool. Hope it gets better for ya! I remember when I got laryngitis, I was just really getting into Karaoke around that time too. Took a month to heal but it eventually did. Do report back if y'all ever find out what it is.
That's a bit of a bummer.. I was in tears when I saw them in Oshawa a few months ago, I heard absolutely everything that I knew I wanted to hear from them including this. Unfortunately hockey arenas don't make the best venues for music though but still an unforgettable experience getting to hear them live
This song is a very special one to me....[[not relevant to the song meaning]] A friend of mine suggested it to me and he was 20 years older than me and lived far away..... Obviously INTERNET FRIENDS... We had a convo about metting up some time... Little did i know he had a very short life span.... And yeah.... I called...and one of his friends sent a video of his funeral... That hit me very hard .... So yeah... I feel closer to him whenever i hear this song... """Silence is closer """😢😢
