Mark actually did tour in part with this lineup. Saw them on their Lullabies tour March 2005 in DC. He sang God/Radio, Precious, Hanging Tree, Burn the Witch

​@Pingaheimer not sure what was wrong with his leg but I know he eventually had surgery on his leg and he actually died on the operating table..luckily they obv were able to bring him back. Would've sucked to lose him.

Brendan Mather He plays rhythm and lead on other songs too. All Queens songs have awesome parts no matter what instrument you play, that's what makes them great, you can enjoy yourself playing whatever you want. And the ego thing, he's pretty down to earth and level headed. If you don't get his humour then I guess it can seem pretty narcissistic at times, but it's just the drugs, man.

I think he's a band leader first and foremost live. I mean, he might be egotistical, but its used to be a pretty standard practice in like the jazz world and such, save if you were buddy rich or another drumming bandleader.

He’s really no a dick like that. He admits him self he needs other people to write music with he can’t do it alone. He gives all the members the props they deserve. Troy is better at accenting the main riffs then homme they know there roles and stick to it nothing wrong with that. It’s like saying Kirk Hammett is a cocky douche for always playing the solos

Newer tracks have been putting Mikey front and center, too. My God is the Sun is a prime example of being bass-led. Post-Oliveri QOTSA, everyone has their roles. Josh hits the main riffs, Troy brings the atmosphere, keyboards fill any holes in the melody, bassist brings the "groove", and the drummer drives the whole damn car. Part of what makes the newer QOTSA polarizing is how niche all the band members are now.

If anyone wrote a better riff than him they get to do it, but that just doesn't happen too often does it.
