and chilean!!.... to bad here in chile most of the people don't even know him and he's been at almost every side from rock n' roll history since the late 80's im proud of him.
+Camillo Battilossi in the ideal oniric world of fans like me, this album should be the best selling most aclaimed Bilboard top 1 forever. Any less than that: the most underrated album ever made.
Daniel Magalhães i just think Josh should either just play guitar or just sing. Being 2 out of 4 just makes it too similar to QOSA. Thankfully Dave isn't singing how about u guys start a project and get a truly blessed "real" singer. Obviously Nirvana and Kyuss had better vocals, and what is a huge factor of why it was insanely good.
exactly! They could release shitty or unoriginal music and still make mega bucks, but they choose to make quality stuff, that many people might not even be able to appreciate
God dammit. John Paul Jones is so rock solid. His subtle little fills are amazing. Listen to this with a good set of earphones and you can hear every note he's playing
He and carol kaye are the 2 best bass writing songwriters to ever live. She did the mission impossible theme song along with multiple uncredited albums etc en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carol_Kaye, and he did "Babe I'm going to leave you" (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mdrAdcxFB9c.htmlm23s) along with all the other Zeppelin hits, the 2 of them are responsible for so many hit grooves on rock songs and inspired so many people to play that instrument that people still say sucks sometimes (idiots).
This is one of my favorite albums of this century so far. I've been astonished by the resistance to it. Haven't been able to get any of my musician friends interested in it, and some people can't get past the Grohl-hate (which I've never understood). I still don't get why this wasn't a much bigger record than it was. It remains a largely undiscovered gem.
The respective managers, attorneys, various record companies weren't making as much money off this as opposed to another record by their respective group. Often, these projects get made to please the artists, but get "sabotaged" so they go back to their regular gig. Plus, what record company will push a record if the artists don't tour too much to support it? Sometimes, it just gets lost in the shuffle. At least it's out there.
I can't profess to "Grohl-Hate". I can't have much to do with him when it comes to Courtney Love and Kurt Cobain, cuz he knows something about it, and if there ever was a prime suspect for something, well, Love is it. So I just can't be a Grohl fan. But in truth, I just want him to stay on drums. When he ventures off of them, I lose interest. Foo Fighters just aren't my thing, but I do like "Rope" alot. But when he's on drums, I am absolutely happy with the dude.
If I were Grohl, during John Paul's piano solo at the end, I'd be thinking of what it must have been like to be John Bonham during an amazing era in music, creating some of the most iconic songs in history with Led Zeppelin.
It's seriously been over 4 years since this album came out? I still listen to it about once a week (from start to finish), and I'm not sick of it at all. PLEASE MAKE ANOTHER ALBUM! The way Josh's writing style adapted on Like Clockwork (after his bout with death) could set up a 'TCV2' album to be beyond incredible.
Here's a band that you definitely know they play for fun. I'm sure money is not an issue anymore. But i need another album, man! Come oooon! Da' fuck, you guuuys??
MrSatanochio They confirmed/promised they would be back one day for another album, citing the fact that they have so many more song ideas and of course for the fun of it!
Hands down the best rock band ever . The songwriting and musicianship on this album is jaw dropping . I've played for over twenty years and cannot remember a group that can touch these guys . Rock music at its pinnacle !
How does the entire world know about Miley Cyrus and Kanye yet these guys just buzz along under the radar ? I'm going to go smash myself in face with an axe now , thank you .
You can see the awe in Dave's eyes as he stares at JPJ, and almost tear up? You can just see him thinking 'I am so honoured to be performing with this man,' same for Josh, it's such a wonderful moment at the end.
Dave's drumming can elevate anything tbh. The power plus the technicality he has is unmatched and I can't imagine any other drummer for this band, spinning in daffodils being one of my favorite drums ever.
Four guys having so much fun and making some awesome music. A pleasure to watch. John looks like he's having the time of his life. The keys at the end are sublime.
Alain Johannes is so badass that he kept Hillel Slovak and Jack Irons from playing on the first Red Hot Chili Peppers album. What Is This were a pretty awesome band. He fits in perfect here and they should have more closeups on him.
+deathmetaldouglas69 I agree - it's a bit strange he's not included as much. I guess it's do with the whole 'supergroup' thing. But considering the people he's played with, he meets that requirement. In interviews I've seen Josh and Dave mention him, but the interviewers always skip over it.
Yeah, I think it may be possible that he doesn't like being in the spotlight too.. Idk. Then again, the band doesn't really have a say in who is filmed, and who ppl want to interview. He's underappretiated for sure, but so is tcv. Many ppl that would love this band have never heard of them
Stechunderscore Because they were in HIS band What is This. RHCP became a side project once WIT got signed and produced by Todd Rundgren. They had a video in 1985 covering The Spinners "I Be Around". Jack Irons is in the video but Hillel Slovak already rejoined RHCP in time for Freaky Styly. cliff Martinez drummed on that 2nd album and Jack Irons got to the "The Uplift Mofo Part Plan" which was the band's third and best album. Their 3rd album was the only album with ALL RHCP original members.
If you try and think and picture them as just a normal band, just an upcoming band with a debut record, it's the kind of music that will catch your attention and will want to listen to it. This band is great not because they're a supergroup but they make great music
Still come back to listen to this a few times a year. What a great performance. I like how all the band are looking at john paul jones in awe at the end when john is improvising on the keys like the rock god he is. Love Dave grohls drumming on this track too....💥💥💥
My god this is a total powerhouse of intricate stunning grooves and melody. It just doesn't get any better than this and I listen to all kinds of music. Its like QTSOA on steroids times 100. Grohl and John and Josh and wait whose the other guy? Hes kicking ass too. This has become my fav. video on youtube. I already bought the album because of this and the in concert video. I can't wait till their next one so I can see them live.!
What a joy that these fuckin legends made their friends/fans/followers this beast of an album. I love that they went all out on it and made something so fast & technical
Someone in the back of my mind whispered: "breath...you idiot" for these DAMN MONSTERS will forever creep in your most wicked nightmares, simply the way you never expected to love it.
Dave has to be considered as one of the best rock drummers in the past 25 years. John Paul Jones did put together the Crooked Vultures, and it has to be the best post Zep band by any of the surviving members.
God, and they still have material left over from the self-titled sessions.. Hopefully their stars align and they can get back to the studio soon, I'd love another TCV album.
