This sounds very Them Crooked Vulturesy. Or rather, Them Crooked Vultures sounds very The Fun Machine Took A Shit And Died-y. I love how Joshy everything Josh touches sounds. (Duh. But you get what I mean.)
I totally know what you mean! Fun fact: New Fang by TCV was meant to be on Era Vulgaris. Search for "Queens of the Stone Age recording Era Vulgaris short bits".
Yeah? You gotta assume Josh had to have been sitting on some great material before walking into the studio with John Paul fucking Jones! I bet Dave was under the most pressure, the man played with arguably the greatest rock drummer of all time. I don't argue between Bonham and Peart. Apples and oranges, blues and jazz.
@@Morphiman aw duuuuude, thank you for that, I'm a bitch for the Vulgaris ear, that's a shame they didn't documented the studio sessions like SftD or Lullabies !
Somebody said Josh forgot some lyrics, I think that he just stopped saying 'You're ten pounds of shit in a five pound bag' so it didn't come out like he was insulting the audience - he'll do that individually as necessary! ...IMHO
I feel like either A)he expect the crowd to chant it, and maybe they even did but the audio is only picking up the stage or B)he thought the implication was better than actually saying it Especially given that this is a B side for a specific part of the crowd that’s into that kinda thing
Saw them at a small venue called the Armory in Rochester, NY in 2014 that only holds about 1000 people and they played this song last. They blew the roof off the fucking place, the smaller intimate setting made the song seem all the more powerful as though it had just been written for that small crowd that night. Best concert experience I've ever had.
@@MikePado It's unclear whether Joey stuck the stick up his ass or not before throwing it in the audience so it's premature to say that there was no shit...
it used to be released on Lullabies, but they lost the record. The tapes got lost. Actually, they were just at another studio, but we falsely accused everyone in the world of theft.--Josh Homme
i've been listening to the part between 3:06 and 4:10 for now 1 week and duuuuuude, i can't understand how so much awesomness could be gathered for 1 minute... It's hardly bearable
