Dude, I never noticed Jackson on this song before but now that I saw your comment -- holy shit he totally owns the whole song. He sounds fantastic and makes the whole thing come together.
Rage For Order was their most complex and experimental album....it was years ahead of its time and still sounds great today. Amazing creativity and recording.
I had to watch the video multiple times to tell that was Eddie singing the alt lines, the video would have been much better if it would have showed him as he sang. The first time I watched it I thought Tate was singing with backing tracks.
Innovators ... RAGE FOR ORDER was way way beyond its time and still holds its own amongst the dross of " Metal " .. mothing sounds or will sound like these guys. The only comparable album that innovated as much was "THE FRAGILE " NIN or " Master of Puppets " Metallica.
simon james Bedford YES! R4O is not only my fav QRYCHE release but it's in my top10 list of alltime! I was very fortunate to see them on this tour w/King Kobra & Loudness! Geoff was still playing synths back then!
On the Rage For Order Album Geoff Tate sings both lead and backing vocals. I like this version more with Ed Jackson singing the backing vocals. FUCKING AWESOME!!! AND WHAT A GREAT SONG!!!
This performance, Geoff Tate and all the band give me a huge goose bumps , just WOW 👏 This is surreal Geoff looks like possessed. I miss the original members 😢 the second voice is just amazing 👏
Yeah geoff lost started losing is range in the building empires tour. I believe that the best tour after that is the 2005 one with Judas Priest. Geoff was unbelievable there.
Eddie Jackson does make a big difference with the background vocs, goes well with Geoff's, you can tell in the performances without. I hope they will reunite soon someday. How a band can grow apart is shitty, a band works too hard to throw it all away or have indifferences in continuing on, business plays a part I'm sure. Just miss the band all together, but I will support Geoff's bands/music, the Queensryche that inspired me many years ago, and I'll always support Queensryche without Geoff, I'm "Team Tate" as far as Queensryche goes, but a True fan doesn't turn away from the band for whatever reasons. We're either fans All the way or not really TRUE fans at all. Rock on Geoff! Rock on all the rest of Ryche!🤘😎
What the band seemed to do was move Michael Wilton to DeGarmo's spotlight and look for a replacement for Wilton. This is why Parker Lundgren has seemed to work out. Parker was willing to learn Wilton's guitar work from Wilton himself. The others played their rendition of Wilton's parts. The difference is very noticeable.
Rage for Order was the first album that made me knew about QR. To me Rage for Order is still the best of QR, so unique in style, and never get bored listening to this album 😄
This is such a great show.... & I love this rendition!!! No problem with Geoff's voice here.... or even today!!! You Rock QR ~ w/ Geoff & Brothers! ~ peace
Totally late to the Eddie appreciation party here....but I have to agree with other comments here....he steals the song. Being totally honest, I'm not even listening to Geoff. Man...wish he would do a bit more singing. Chris got his own song back in the day...it would be nice if Eddie had one. He's been in the shadows way too long.
Fucking oldest school QR fan right here. Like out of the gate in SeaTac baby! So seeing GT, CD, SR, MW and EJ raw was a sight. I remember b4 Tate when the others were then called The Mob. But when GT came over from his lil crew in Babylon, it was a match made in heaven. Tho i long for the old days when what you heard on Tape, Album or later Disc was what you heard live, this isnt bad at all. Not at all. Kudos GT for takin care of those pipes. Saw Don Dokken a few months ago..couldnt hit a note!
People are splitting hairs here. This version is fine. So the solo is not exactly like DeGarmo's. Big deal. It's a LIVE performance, nothing is ever the same way. What matters it that it rocked and the audience loved it.
@TheWorld21 Parker Lundgren is an excellent player for sure, probably the best since DeGarmo left, but I really miss Stone. He really brought an edge to the band that I think was missing for years.
Amazing performance !!! I seen the other comments about Eddie Jackson...wow, what a voice he as as well :O

Kelly Gray can’t hold a candle to DeGarmo. Otherwise, this is Queensryche at its best. Geoff Tate sounded amazing and EdBass nailed the backing vocals.
what year was this from? i saw them 2 weeks ago and this song, live, just didnt deliver (the opening band, the Voodoos, were so much better overall!). its a hard song, i guess, vocally and otherwise.
@ozzfann I saw them a year ago, I can tell that he hasn't lose his range. But he is trying to sing in lower keys, trying to take profit of the textures of his low ranges... Such a complete singer
I see Live Evolution as the last time the band played without any flaws and i hold it in high regard - Geoff hitting that insane note at 3:22 is a prime example! This was their absolute peak!
Well one thing i consider a flaw is Scott cheesing it with one foot on parts that originally had double bass in it. Like this song and Queen of the Reich. It kind of castrates the songs.
@@austinspitler9177 It wasn’t about “cheesing” it, it was about playing everything a bit differently for Live Evolution. Scott plays the double bass parts in more recent concerts just fine which shows he’s not copping out of playing it. It’s called Live Evolution for a reason. Chris left and it was time to make a statement, that they didn’t want to sound just like everything that came before. It was refreshing. A few years after this we had Tribe which is a complete departure from the expected and is a masterpiece in my opinion.
Not bad enough for Geoff Tate to invite into his current Not-Real-Queensryche band! Heard some crazy stories about Kelly involving booze and drugs. Parker has been the best replacement thus far for DeGarmo, but that's only because he plays the parts like he's supposed to instead of fuckin' everything up and throwing a wah pedal on everything.
Told the future in the 80's!!! Cell phones and all that sorta happening now!! Saw them also Live a couple of time!! My very first show!! Saw Mindcrime show 1& 2!!~ !! on acid !!! Great time at the show!!
You obviously havent heard Kellys version of DeGarmos `Jet City Woman` solo from Live Evolution?...phrasing, tone, technique...perfectly played...anyone that says otherwise i assume is deaf...
@jfuentezhd he is very underrated as far as vocals go. Recently heard a live recording from the American Soldier tour where he did co-lead on Dead Man's Words and was very impressed!
@TheDannyhyde true, but you've obviously never seen judas priest live recently. Halford's close to 60, and still kicks major ass. Both guys are great live though.
