Scott and Eddie are so underrated, they deserve so much more credit for their work. Scott was always one of my favourite drummers, and Eddie is amazing me more and more after every listen. With Geoff caliber in the band it's hard to be noticed, but they deserve way more credit. Respect, guys!
The drumming in Spreading the disease is just unbelievable. I dont know much about playing bass, so i have no insight into what he is doing or what value he, or a bassist, brings to the band.
One of my fav QR songs off Mindcrime along with The Mission and Suite Sister Many Rockenfield sounds so good in this video. He and Eddie are undoubtedly one of the tightest rhythm sections in Rock/Metal Side note, gotta love the Speed Metal/Thrash riff in this track 🤟🎸
At this particular time in-time...they WERE THE BEST BAND IN THE WORLD... no doubt this recording was "prettied-up in the remaster in 2003, but I saw these guys so many times over the past 40 years, this is when they were in their peak and just fucking amazing live...rock-on brother and sister... JLG...
Timeless music just amazing this "speak" is crazy... Long live Queensyrche... Operation :Mindcrime is masterpiece and one of the best albums of all time. 🤘
You do realize he was singing the words from the point of view of the main character in the story. They even said in an interview that they weren't looking to overthrow the government or cause a subversive revolution. However, in that same interview, in a sarcastic manner, they said they had no problem with right-wing fascists running the United States.
To think, it’s the communist and Socialist left that has us 1 step away from WW3 and nuclear war. As their face gets melted off, they will cry, “At least their are no mean tweets!!”
This band and their message were WAY ahead of their time! Their prophecies are now coming true,as are their words of revolution and promised demise! The ending has yet to be written, no ending is construct! It is ours to write and direct! Our lives are theirs to take,or ours to save!
THAT "DEMISE" YOU SPEAK OF IS NOT THE DEMISE OF US..... BUT THE DEMISE OF THOSE WHO HAVE NOT DESTROYED US.............SO SHOULD IT NOT BE ENOUGH TO "CIRCLE OUR WAGONS" AND LET'S COWBOY UP PEOPLE!!!! WE HAVE A LEGACY TO LEAVE OUR NATION AND NOT MORE DEBT TO " FOREIGN" INTREST.........!!! DO YOU NOT "REMEMBER THE ALAMO " I MEAN WTF!!! THOSE THINGS THAT ARE COMING FROM MEXICO ARE "WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION" i.e. POVERTY, DRUGS/PHARMACEUTICAL, FRAUD, CORRUPTION, GREED, COVETOUS AND YES VIOLENCE IN EVERY FASHION IMAGINABLE. SO FOR THE SAKE OF OTHERS CONSIDER THESE WORDS.
No it's just nothing has changed really aside from crime falling in the USA. It was describing a cynical dystopian version of what was happening in the 80's in the USA and other western nations.
The media is made of up millions of parts. To count media as one single entity is absolute paranoia. First you say that something else is paranoid and then you say something completely paranoid. Ha!
How they got these lyrics past the PMRC is beyond me. Relevant as ever in 2011. I remember when I bought the vinyl the day of release. I listened and read that thing from start to finish. It sent chills up my spine. Great record!
Surely we need, but it will never happen again. The music industry changed so much after the 90´s, and the mainstream doesn´t allow these kind of statements anymore. Only the underground can do that, no news, no comercial publicity.
I remember the promiseland tour . At jones beach in NY... They played this album as well as promiseland a rare 2 hr. Show.. Type O opened for them.. Best concert ever.. Where is this talent today?
We grew up and they got old. I will say this if the Hollywood Vampires play in your area give them a listen, Alice Cooper and crew cover a lot tunes from artist who aren't with us anymore. I never realize old baritone Cooper was so flexible but he pulls it off.
I'm in highschool and I love those bands, I'm even going to see maiden live, it sadly was delayed, but I'm going to see them. I'm not that kid who's like, I'm born in the wrong generation, because now I can watch and listen to this great music for bassicly free. I am the only one in my class who listens to the bands you were talking about, but I'm definitely not the only one who still listens to those great artist
At there, I had heard another voice in heaven that had said: Leave her my people so that you will not share to her sins and so that you will not receive her plagues and since they have been piled up to as high as heaven, God has remembered her sins and thus share back to her what she had shared and share double back to her about what she had shared. Pour her a double portion using her own cup. Share to her as much torment and grief about the glory and luxury that she had shared about herself because in her heart she boasts: I sit throned as queen and I am not a widow and I will never mourn.
They can not make a bad tune! I Swear they are Gods from Heaven! I love this music more than any other in all of humanity! Beautiful voice! Wonderful words! Amazing! Just Amazing! No One else as good as Queensryche! Anywhere!
Man, they were so good back then. Man I miss my youth! I want it back! Some person said I have a weird axe to grind with the GT. I don’t, but the quarantine plague has me nostalgic for my youth and of the bands I loved as a kid. Honestly, I hadn’t listened to them since I was 18 or so...I just see them in videos like this, on their game...And I see GT sad and man, it makes me wanna cry.
This here is a great song I always liked it and still do!! I wish there would be more metal music now like how it used to be. It's like it faded away you know. I mean there was always rock in the '60s-'70s-'80s-'90s. And then it slowly got to be less and less. I love rock/metal I wish it was still in it's hey-day. Anyway great tune. Peace.
In your face, powerful and intelligent. It's like a musical storm you get caught up in. Live Crime my favorite. Must be how they mixed it...they play so clean, clear highs and awesome low end. Scott R. is awsome...I miss Chris De Garmo too though to agree with another post.
On the greatest metal albums I say. The relevance of the words are so freakishly real its jaw dropping. WAY ahead of their time!! Which is why I think they couldn't get as many fans as a party band like Bon Jovi. People weren't ready and it seems most of us don't want to hear the truth. It will ruin your happy hour and your weekend so most just keep their head in the sand...CUZ its easier.
I wish Queensrÿche was still this good. Their early days are the reason they are one of my favorite metal bands but fuck man they need Chris Degarmo back.
DeGarmo is finished with performing, unfortunately. He left that life behind back when he chose to prioritize his family. He was quite spectacular in his prime.
The music on this track is all Michael Wilton!! He deserves every right to lead the current incarnation of the band and is doing a great job of it too!!
@j800r at least we both love them at the end its the only thing that counts the vocal are so hard to beat, i saw them live in 89 whit metalica in montreal and live they sound so great
