The early years was the best years for me. Please follow up with Queen of the Reich, and The lady wore black. Both bangers that really showcase Tate's vocals! Oh... I am so impressed your actually digging us old folks music! lol
Just have to say thank you! Just stumbled upon your page and you're doing Queensryche? My band and in my opinion, doesn't get the credit that it deserves. I thank you for being a fan. Geoff is stupid good as well as the other musicians. Thank you again for recognizing talent 💯
FINALLY!!!!! Queensryche's "The Warning" is the most criminally underrated album of all time. But your audio is really messed up... That's too bad because I really wanted to hear hear what you had to say about this song...
Ronnie James Dio would be right in your wheelhouse. Whether it's with "Rainbow", "Black Sabbath (post Ozzy)", or his band DIO... ronnie was "the VOICE of Metal". The tiniest man in rock with the world's biggest voice.
@@venicerealm a few song suggestions to start with: "Heaven and Hell" by Black Sabbath (live 1980 or studio) - "Stargazer" by Rainbow - and "Rainbow in the Dark" by DIO (studio or live 1983). He also has a great cameo in Tenacious D's "Kickapoo" from their movie "The Pick of Destiny"
Going down the rabbit hole your loving this band they are great you rock as always love how you go though the lyrics love your passion for this your real cool and one of my favs good job
Very genuine reaction! Congratulations on the work! Queensryche is a great band! I think one of the most underrated bands within heavy metal. I recommend that you make a reaction of a great band from my country. In Brazil, the band is called Dr. sin. One of their main songs are Emotional Catastrophe, Fire and Silent Scream.
This is a very catchy melody with a lot of surprises. I love the shouts. The highs and lows. Stops and starts. And could drummer, Scott, be any more into it! He's a very inventive drummer. Often using unusual time signatures. He's just really good, as are Eddie, Michael, Chris, and Geoff! Geoff IS theatrical! He puts his ALL into his performances, that's for sure! You had some great ideas about the lyrics. This song was a little more obscure, leaving a lot up to the listener...but, yeah they talk about someone who perhaps has prophetic visions about what will be happening in the near future. Sounds like they're speaking about a time of war and unrest. The part that says: "His eyes once wide in learning wonder now leave stains, stains upon his face.". The stains are tear stains. The person learned things that were sad enough to make them weep. And, it's OK to "create a meaning of your own" with lyrics. Sometimes that is what the writer intends. You personalize it. Many lyrics are whimsical, and just create a FLAVOR of what the writer is talking about. One thing about Queensryche that stands out is what great songwriters they are! They are especially good at writing music that supports the lyrical idea. The music SOUNDS like what the lyrics are saying. Good, thorough analysis! You are right to give the lyrics and music equal attention. Looking forward to your awesome artwork for this QR block you've done for us! And good luck on your exams!! ☺️
thank you so much for sharing this very helpful analysis of the lyrics and i hope you are okay with another 3 videos of queensruche(for this week that is comming) before the artwork video is out as i couldn't make my deadline sadly :)
@@venicerealm Oh, don't worry about deadlines too much! I think everyone understands. You have a lot going on with studying and all your reaction videos. Take whatever time you need! We will be around. ☺️. And I'm certainly not complaining about 3 QR videos!!
This was the first full Queensryche album from 1984 - 'The Warning'... it followed the first Queensryche EP which scored a minor hit music video 'Queen of the reich'. At the time, 80's glam was the image trending... so Queensryche adopted that look for the first few years w/ makeup and big hair... but their music was darker and more along the lines of heavy metal bands Judas Priest & Iron Maiden. They opened for Kiss, Dio and Iron Maiden between 1984/ '85... 'The Warning' (produced by Pink Floyd producer James Guthrie) was not a commercial success at the time, but it did get them some fanfare worldwide, particularly in Japan, where the song 'Take hold of the flame' was a minor hit... The band did start a loyal fanbase in the US and Europe, thanks to this record & the EP. Recently, Queensryche (w/ singer Todd LaTorre) have been performing songs from this record - 'Warning' ... 'En force'... 'Roads to madness' ... 'NM 156'... 🤘🤘🔥🔥 In 1986, Queensryche got a metal producer Neil Kernon and worked w/ Dave Ogilvie, which resulted in a futuristic-sounding album 'Rage for order'... (Ogilvie worked w/ Nine Inch Nails years later) Again, it wasn't a commercial success upon release... but had some fan favorites like 'Walk in the shadows' ... 'Screaming in digital'... 'London'... and a metal cover of 'Gonna get close to you' (originally by Lisa Dalbello). Queensryche broke big in 1988 w/ the 'Operation: Mindcrime' record, proving that their music was ahead of their time...
Yes, the drummer's name was really Scott Rockenfield. Destiny at work! And Geoff Tate was an amazing singer and showman! Hey, now you need to react to a different song named "Warning", that by the band Incubus, delivering a different sort of warning in a powerful video. Just a suggestion I hope you will take up!
