Well lots of them just have elements of a glorified B movie which people like for the cheese factor really that is what he likes himself about lots of those B movies probably.
Pulp Fiction is hilarious. Reservoir Dogs has a lot of funny lines and conversations. "Why am I Mr. Pink? How about Mr. Purple? That's fine, I'll be Mr. Purple. -"You're not Mr. Purple... some guy at some other job is Mr. Purple - you're Mr. Pink!" 😂. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood has a lot of funny scenes. Inglourious Basterds - don't get me started 😂 I personally don't like strictly comedies, as they are mostly lame. I want a movie that has it all, and is entertaining and you don't care what happens next because you're enjoying yourself at every moment in the movie. The Hateful Eight, Django Unchained, all of these movies are like this. Every scene is either funny or interesting, or both
Yeah, Lee Van Cleef was truly a badass guy. His face said it all. I will quote the best line that he delivered: "When I'm paid, I always see the job through." in The Good, The Bad and the Ugly (1966).
You're totally right. IB was the first Tarantino film I watch and I was completely mind blown by that masterpiece. That last scene when the cinema set on fire and then the FMC die, and music starting to play, I laughed at that. Not because it's funny funny, but because it's a tragic and beautiful conclusion, packaged in kinda comedic way. That moment was really something else for me. When I saw it, the word "Art" Is the only thing that comes to my mind. And I watch it on TV, not knowing what the movie is about at first, and not knowing who Tarantino was. So it was a really good moment of realization for me.
Exactly my thought. I think Edgar Wright is very easily recognisable by his filmmaking style, and he loves that Tarantino is even more recognisable and admire that of him.
edgar wright could have just asked himself that question. In a way I think wright was kind of patting their backs saying "yeah we are cool and unique". not saying hes wrong but i think he is kind doing that lol
Oh, good pick with the Lee Van Cleef pick Quentin. LVC is one of my, maybe even my favorite period, Western actors. His piercing stare was amazing. Nobody could pull that off like Cleef. The only guy that you could put opposite Eastwood and he out badasses him.
I really think he should recreate one of Lee Van Cleefs characters and cast Snoop. I honestly think they could pull it off. Not sure why he hasn’t done it already.
@@alejoparedes2388 I'd argue Death Proof and his early work (esp. "Reservoir Dogs") are closer to "arthouse" independent cinema -- whatever that means. He's probably too big in the business now to make something more daring and extreme. And most importantly, it should not revolve around saving the world. But then again, he could do *anything* at this point.
@@veryeyeofnight as far as I'm concerned almost everything he's made is "arthouse." I mean Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction were both completely avant garde compared to their contemporaries and the only difference now is that he's a household name. Nobody is really making QT-like films, even today.
It’s odd that he feels Sergio Leone was his biggest inspiration considering Leone was famous for his long scenes with no dialogue and Tarantino characters never shut up for a second.
Weyoun Six He's said he'd like to try plays in the future. He could also try writing a book. Or you know, just forget that he said ten movies and come back and make more.
The Vicious Chicken of Bristol you seem like a nobody, who's just bagging out one of the greatest directors of all time, asking why his movies are no good any more doesn't actually make sense. His movies just keep getting better
