#queretaro is one of the most desired places to live in Mexico.
Wages are some of the highest paid in all of Mexico. The weather is pleasant almost every day of the year, and there's a lot of sunlight and lush green hills. The cost of living is a fraction of a similar city in the U.S. or Canada, with 2-bedroom rentals starting at $500 USD/month ($9k MXN).
And Queretaro is centrally located in Mexico, which makes exploring the rest of the country a lot easier.
In this video, we share rental costs, grocery costs, and utility costs. We also give you some of the top neighborhoods to live in and how to get around this amazing city.
It's one of my favorite places in Mexico. If I wasn't in CDMX, I would move to Queretaro in a heartbeat.

I am an athletic, very healthy, non smoking retired science teacher moving to QRO in August. I want to go to language school for the first year and am also interested in volunteering in a teaching environment. Do you have any suggestion to go about getting certified/verified in order to volunteer if there are any opportunities to volunteer as a teacher? Thank you to anyone in this community that offers advice. Cheers,

This is one of THE BEST videos I have seen on our gorgeous home - Querétaro, Mexico. Thank you for being honest! The cost of living here has increased dramatically over the past 5 years. The dollar devaluation against the peso in the past 4 years has really hurt. Add in general cost of living and increases (inflation - especially food) in food costs has been significant. Great job on this video - you were a little too kind on the cost of living here though - particularly for retirees from the USA and Canada on a fixed retirement income. Mexico is NOT the bargain economically as it was five years ago…Nice job!!!

@@MexicoRelocationGuide Our pleasure. There are WAY TOO MANY “Relocation to Mexico” videos and channels that move away from the truth and mislead people. Your adherence to the current facts sets your channel apart and garners you integrity - well above other “promotion and pump” channels and videos. I am writing an article on “how things have changed in Querétaro over the past 5 years” and would like to interview you. CNN is also writing a piece on this subject as well…from a broader perspective- U.S. retirees heading to Mexico. They interviewed me. Article will be out in a few weeks. (Both articles). Let me know…Again - Nice job!!!

Really great video. I was there last summer. The city is growing very fast as manufacturing is booming and bringing jobs with it. The centro was lively and walkable from Los Alamos. It was too congested and too polluted for us due to the volume of cars. The traffic is terrible. But if you like big cities, then I imagine it’s one of the best options in Mexico due to the safety and economic expansion.

Great video. We are considering moving there at some point. We enjoyed our time there last year. The one thing I completely disagree with in this video is about AC. When it reaches 95F in May and early June, I dont know about you, but I need AC no matter what the humidity level is.

Querétaro is a fantastic place to live, especially in the very walkable Centro with so many cultural events to attend. Yes, like every place in the world, prices have gone up - but for under a $1,000 I can rent a well located, huge 3 bed, 2 bath apartment that in Canada, in a comparable city, would be at least $4,000/month…

Is Queretaro safe? I would like to go, but I worry about the safety factor.
@MexicoRelocationGuide

As anywhere in the world, Queretaro has crime. However, it is also one of the safest cities in Mexico. Many people move to Queretaro from other parts of Mexico because it is considered to have very low crime.

Can you buy a house in alamos for 2 million pesos max? Are the colonias where the regular working- middle class Mexicans in the more traditional type of homes live safe as well? And can you buy a house there for max million?

@@MexicoRelocationGuide If they're going to have the same income as they had in the Western city they're from, then yeah it's going to be more affordable. But if they're hoping to move to Queretaro with a $2k monthly budget and lead a very comfortable middle-class lifestyle, I'd say that's probably not going to be quite enough anymore. That said, Queretaro might be the most beautiful city that I've had the privilege to spend some time in. It's an absolutely stunning place - an incredible historic centre, a perfect climate with sunshine almost every day, relatively low crime rates, and only about three hours away from CDMX by car. All this has obviously driven up its popularity with middle-class Mexicans and foreigners, which has in turn driven up prices.

In Mexico’s current economy, it has gotten very expensive. I lived In Queretaro for 1 year in 2022 and prices have doubled since then. As a retired single female on a very small retired income. It is not affordable.

I can see all the benefits you guys get for coming here but most are not working people nor investing in things that benefits us. If you say we go to the states we do but are most hard working people getting paíd less then min wage so it benefits you. All I can say if you americanize it mexican will turn on you. To keep it peacefull visiting is fine but moving to anyplace in mexico needs to be with a benefit to us.

You sound like the anti-immigration folks in the US. A bit hateful. Not all Americans see the value of immigrants working in the US. Remember that. As a matter of fact, they feel it takes jobs from Americans and puts a burden on our already broken healthcare system, transportation and housing crisis. Many Americans have 2-3 jobs if they can even find a job to survive the high cost of living so not sure why you don't consider us hardworking. Your statement sounds just as ridiculous and racist as the anti-immigration activists in the US. If people are kind, willing to respect and learn the language and culture and most importantly support the businesses in the community where they reside and the Country in general what's the problem? People should be able to live freely anywhere in the world with love and respect.
