@@ArabicwithManar I actually have a question. I do henna and when asking which design someone would like should I use shu biddek or ayy biddek? In Danish I would be ayy but this had me wondering
Another great video! You make this language seem easier, thank you! One difficult thing is the way vowel sounds move in Arabic, since they're not written and I guess that's why it makes the most sense to use and abjad to write this language. One example: Huwwa libis but when conjugating the future 1st feminine person, then it is La5 tilibsi. This is hard for me since it's not that intuitive and I would have read it as La5 tlibisi. Anyway, just found it interesting 😀
Salamat Gastón 👋🏼 I agree it challenging to read without the vowels, but if you study the roles of congecating the verbs you will know what vowels to use. 🙂 And anyway it not really a big deal to mix them if you are understood 🙂
Gaston, I personally prefer to write out new words/phrases in my own Arabizi with the Latin alphabet so that I can remember exactly how to pronounce them. And in terms of verb conjugations, I go through the conjugations in the present and past tense with a teacher or friend or listen to recordings/watch videos of native speakers conjugating (because you're absolutely right that there can be surprises and exceptions). Then I write it all down phonetically in a table for myself and make flashcards in Anki and Clozemaster so that I can practice them. I find that if I memorize the I, he, she form in the past and the I, you, and he form in the present, I can remember the pattern for the rest of the forms of that verb. Yes, it's important to learn how to spell in Arabic, but, I think, first you need to memorize how to clearly pronounce the words. This system has worked well for me.
Another very nice lesson. Thank you. I remember that when my father or my grandparents used the word "ay", it almost sounded like "ay-ya". Maybe that was their particular Lebanese accent or dialect. But it always sounded like they were saying "ay-ya yom" or "ay-ya sa'a" etc.

Thank you so much again! I have a question for you about the word بقيان. What part of speech is it? An adjective? Active participle? And how would I change it for you feminine and you plural? This word (and its verb) is new to me. I just know ضل.
Ahlan Alice 👋🏼 tekrami 🌻 Yes you are right 👍🏼 But the way the sentence is used in Arabic it gives the meaning of the present. "Why were you later" in Arabic would be. "ليش كنت متاخر" Always feel free to leave me comments when you have any questions or suggestions or just to say hi 🙂
@@ArabicwithManar it's me again😊 i was thinking about your answer, and this example came to my mind: in arabic you use shta2tellak in the past meaning "i miss you" in the present, so i was wondering, is it common in arabic to use a past tense for present actions? If yes, when? Akid there won't be a fixed rule, but just an idea if possible. And another question, i don't understand why تأخرت is pronounced "itakharit", where does the initial i sound come from? Sorry, lots of questions😅 thank you again!
