Just so everyone knows, the man speaking at 14:03 is Paul Washer's own pastor at his local church in Radford, VA. The humility of brother Paul to sit and come under the Biblical authority of a younger man, what a great example he is to the rest of us.

What do we do for the next 500 years? My question is: "how do we preach the gospel to a generation of young people who from the moment of their birth have been taught to emote rather than to think, and when the subject of thinking DID come up, they were taught WHAT to think rather than HOW to think... This generation of young people who think that the rules do not apply to them, and who feel that they cannot be wrong about anything, how do we reach THEM?"

The 'first' reformation 500 years ago opposed the errors in the preaching of the gospel through the then current channel. It did a good job on the whole opposing false doctrine mainly about authority for truth (the bible) and that salvation was and is by grace alone through faith. 500 years on the errors are still the same, however one doesn't have to travel to Rome to encounter them. They are also in the heart of 'evangelical protestantism'. How many occupying the pews of the Baptist and Presbyterian churches are under a false allusion and assurance of eternal security based on their tradition or on the recall of raising a hand or saying a prayer? There is often so little to differentiate the secular and the 'christian' in many of the church communities. Ultimately there are only two ways of salvation preached or believed; works and faith in the gift of christ without merit, and we know that however works manifest themselves they are not able to save. People in churches are fiddling and diddling over KJVism, cessationism, music types in worship, getting side tracked over dealing with the symptoms of sin such as the abortion issue and various kinds of sexual behaviour and so on instead of getting a hold of the root causes of these and other errors, many of them found in the pulpit. The message hasn't changed since Peter stood up in Acts 3 only the specific manifestations of the errors to be confronted.

18:05 "How to defend the doctrine of Sola Scriptura with the Bible" - I'll give you the answer by Scripture. Ephesians 2:20 - "You are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets(...)" This verse is saying that, if anyone comes with another teaching than what you have received from the Apostles, it is not to be taken, for it doesn't come from the foundation on which upon we stand. The ADVENTISTS stand upon Ellen G. White. The Mormons stand upon Joseph Smith, etc. Also, Acts 2:42 - "They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship" Also, Acst 15:4-7 "But some of the sect of the Pharisees who believed rose up, saying, “It is necessary to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.” NOW THE APOSTLES AND ELDERS CAME TOGETHER TO CONSIDER THIS MATTER. And when there had been much dispute, Peter rose up and said to them:(...). I hope this helps that, the Apostles and the elders who new the Apostles or Jesus - ARE the Sola Scriptura. I too grew up and still am in a southern Baptist church- Never heard the doctrines of grace- Will be moving to a reformed church soon. The historical baptist churches left their roots and now side purely w only 1 point at best!

Sad to say as they were addressing the errors of their times there are many that have become institutional especially in the calvinistic church tradition which incidentally is Augustinian errors inherited from the Catholic church.zThe ideas that formed the thinking behind those who were involved the inscripturation the Bible can be traced to preflood and shortly after the flood. The influence of these ideas are seen in the postexilic second Temple Jewish scholars who's writings set the stage for the teaching and preaching ministries of Jesus Christ and later the apostles.Strangely non of the men esteemed in this panel are mentioned much they were significant in their times. A wise teacher once said to us in a class that when one is sound on Theology proper only is in a right frame of mind concerning other doctrines,that is how I was rescued from the Calvinism bondage that is my prayer for these loyal to the Bible Christ loving men.

Very encouraging to hear a call to focus on "Who is this man (Jesus)?". All laypeople need to be equipped to give answers.

First of all where in Scripture did THE ALMIGHTY Direct anyone to start a religion or denomination? Second, why not stick with What THE LORD SAID In The Gospel and What The Apostles taught? How about they stick with what Peter said in Acts 2: 38- 40
