I love the Qui-Gon content. More of anything about him is going to be a great watch. He's definitely one of my favourite characters just because of how true he is to the force compared to most jedi. I can't get enough of it.

I think Anakin had to lose his ability for foresight when he became Vader because he no longer cared for anyone or loved. His premonitions were always centered around the things he loved and cared about most.

I am surprised we haven't gotten a "What If" story where Qui Gon survives and trains Anakin yet. It seems like a comic book mini series about this would sell pretty well.

I'm not sure a Vader who could see into the future is such a good idea. Anakin already proved that his knowing the future is dangerous. I think the his being able to see the future was the will of the Force, just as him not being able to do it after falling to the Dark Side was also the will of the Force. I think Vader being able to see his son in the future, may have made him go look for him when Luke was younger, which would have thrown everything out of whack. If he found him, he might have brought him to the Emperor or maybe tried to train him in secret. One of the things I've noticed about Anakin is that he's never really listened to the Force. He's interested in connecting with it in order to use it, but not really listening to its will. He's too quick to want to interfere, to "save the day." He has a good heart, but doesn't always stop and think of the consequences of his actions. His intentions to find and train his son, may have come from his love of Padme and their child, but it would have prevented Luke from growing up and making his own choices, choices which ended up bringing Anakin back from the Dark Side, destroying the Sith, and bringing balance to the Force. I think the only way to bring balance to the Force was for Anakin to do exactly what he did. The Jedi weren't listening to the will of the Force. They were too caught up in the politics of the Republic. Palpatine was too powerful for them. Even if Windu killed Palpatine in his office, how would that have looked? Would everyone just believe that he was justified in killing the Chancellor? People might have turned against Jedi and the Jedi would no long have their trust. So, kill off all the Jedi, and then get close to Darth Sidious to kill him. It's as if the Force needed to wipe out almost all the Force users and start fresh. It left Obi-Wan and Yoda to teach Luke how to use the Force. They didn't have time for all the dogma, just the basics and a warning about falling to the Dark Side. That's about as clean a slate as the Force could get to start again. With everyone gone (at least the story was told in the OT) Luke was left with little other than the Force itself to listen to and to learn from. What's really funny here is Palpatine's power and him saying how things are happening as he has foreseen them. I always wondered how he was foreseeing all those things. I imagine that that was the will of the Force as well, considering he didn't foresee Vader's betrayal. I guess the Force clouded his sight when it came to his own demise.

The books that were written to take place before Episode one were flame. Dirty dealings in the Senate and Qui-Gon training young Obi-Wan.. he was sensing darkness arising then too and it's been awhile but I swear I remember actual thoughts in his mind pondering if it could actually be the Sith that he was sensing

Qui-Gon is by far my favorite Jedi and my favorite lightsaber design as well, which I've only realized over the past couple of years. I like that he was a rebel and didn't allow himself to be beholden to the whims of the most convenient agenda of the day. Super cool character.

Again, another reason why we NEED a Qui-Gon show. Not an origin story (maybe flashbacks) but just dwell on his leaving the council, etc.

Coruscant has a population of over a trillion, pretty impressive for Qui-Gon to sense Maul. Tatooine doesn't have nearly the same population

It's really interesting to see Maul's backstory. When you consider how long he waited and bided his time, barely restraining his bloodlust, only to be cut down in his first-ever confrontation with the Jedi... it really puts the unimaginable suffering ad fury he must have felt for those 10+ years he spent in isolation after the events of the phantom menace.

I can totally see this, qui was really trained In the force and he could probably sense a disturbance such as mauls dark side aura

Awesome vid, Theory! 👍 I think my favourite Jedi of all was Kyle Katarn - he had a really cool story, leading up to & including his becoming a Jedi. Being a part of the Empire, transitioning to a Han Solo-esque Rogue Merc, to finally aiding the Rebellion & becoming a Jedi Knight. It's one of my favourite Legends arcs. 🤟 I wish the sequels had done something similar to this with the character of Finn. 😔

i feel like the whole story of maul, sidious and plagueis would deserve their own film(s) because when i read the plagueis book (i know it‘s legends but still) i thought it was very cool, especially because it gave a lot of background information about the grand plan of the sith since darth bane and it also made it clear to me why all the politics in the prequels mattered that much. the characters themselves were also really badass so yeah i feel like that would be very cool. and the whole throwback to darth bane and the order of the sith since then is so cool that for me personally it would‘ve been 100000 times cooler to make a trilogy about bane just like in the books (in my opinion some of the best fiction books in terms of character development, narration etc) instead of making the sequels like that… (but somehow star wars is more interested in doing tv shows around some kind of cool characters some years around the battle of yavin)

I think that Qui Gon won't be in the Kenobi show as he said he would like to be in another movie, but not a show. I think that he would have been an iconic role in addition to the show and I always wonder what the future would have been like if Qui Gon wasn't killed in the phantom menace.

Its interesting since at the beginning of episode I, Obi Wan tells qui gon he senses danger in the future inside the seperatist ship negotiations chamber then qui gon shuns it off n tells kenobi not to think that far ahead…

Even tough Qui-Gon is my favourite Star Wars character, Dooku is, indeed, highly underrated. What about a "What if the Jedi Council listend to Dooku and therefore Dooku never left the Jedi Order?" - This would have so much potential.

I think it would take longer than six months learning the dark side before anakin would be able to defeat the emperor, quite a bit longer. I'm thinking a few years, say 3-5.

Is it just me or was Dooku in the movies more like a fallen jedi than clone wars Dooku..? I feel like clone wars made him look way more evil than the movies

Speaking of Qui Gon. What if his friend, Jedi Master Plo Koon trained Anakin instead of Obi Wan. It should be a long multi parted series cause a lot of the story could possibly change a lot that needs to be covered throughly.

Out of all the jedi, my favorite use to be Anikan when I was slike 10. I grew up though and my favorite has to be Obi-Wan. I would say Qui Gon but I didn't know much all about him. I got to watch as Obi-Wan grow to be wise and trust in the force more than the council. Though my favorite of all legends and Canon characters will always be Revan.

Qui-Gon was always my favourite. I know it's an unpopular opinion but the phantom menace was my favourite film because it's the first one I watched (after getting the ps1 game for christmas as a kid). I couldn't count how many times I must have watched my VHS copy

Palpatine is one of the most cunning figures in the SW universe, there is no way he would train Dark-side Anakin up to max power so that Anakin can defeat him. Palp always has a trump card up his sleeve. Also, if Qui Gon survived the fight with Maul, the Jedi council may not allow young Anakin to be trained. The council allowed it because one of the reasons was to grant Qui Gon's dying wish.

One of my dreams is too see a what if Qui gon survived and see the good timeline. Marvel did, give Star Wars a series too Disney. Also a story about Vader being able to see in the future would be interesting, it would change ALOT, you could go either really far with it or keep it small and those are the best fan fics.

I'd say that Qui-Gon can't sense Maul on Tatooine because his senses are overwhelmed by, "a vergence in the force."

For me, at the heart of Star Wars is Luke Skywalker. I’m sure big part of that is growing up with the OT. And even though the PT is the story of Anakin, I connected in a similar way with Obi-wan Kenobi. He and Luke are similar characters in number of ways. And over the years, I have grown to appreciate Qui-gon more and more. Wish there was more content including him.

Qui-Gon Jinn is the epitome of what all Jedi should be. And my favorite character along side with Darth Maul.

Since they made all the cool Luke lore, legends material, I would love if they made an animated show abt him. Showcasing how powerful he was in cannon. Of course I want the Dave Filoni Clone Wars team on it, and I bet Mark Hamill would be willing to voice act. I mean the guy who played Luke Skywalker all those years ago is now one of the greatest voice actors of all time. And the Clone Wars is probably some of the best Star Wars ever. It just seems like a missed opportunity.

Fan fiction idea: what if at the beginning of ROTS when the separatist flagship was breaking apart, it would have exploded, killing Palps, Obi-Wan and Anakin? Just curious how you think things would have played out.

I wish Qui Gon Jinn was able to open Obi-Wan's mind a little more earlier then I would've love to have seen Obi-Wan more wiser at that age before he became an old man.

My boyfriend made a really good point about Anikin being the chosen one to bring balance to the force... The force was already imbalanced. IF the Sith truly had been gone for all that time, that would have meant that only the light side of the force had existed. That's not balance. That's a top heavy load of malarky at best. The force would have been strained because there was no dark for the light to shine on. There were no shadows for the light to reveal. The Jedi counsel was collectively guilty of believing that the will of the force was also the will of the Jedi. Jedi only use the force as a tool. It is not up to them what the will of the force is, it was never meant to be controlled, just respected.

it seems to me that Mace and Qui-gon had some similarities in that they both kinda bucked the norms of traditional jedi teachings/ traditions, it'd be interewsting to have a story with those two working together at some point.

The prequels created so much potential for backstory that's never really been fleshed out in either the old or current cannon. In my personal opinion, one of the biggest reasons why The High Republic is such a misfire is because it is set centuries after the believed defeat of the Sith, but before anything major mentioned in the films. Now I only read the first few novels before I gave up, so perhaps they do address where the Sith were at in some point, but otherwise space pirates and plant monsters just don't measure up. "Once more the Sith will rule the galaxy" is the most intriguing line that's never been explored. In the old/legends lore, the Sith seem to have never ruled the entire galaxy--I want to see that time Darth Sidious is referring to when they actually did.

The death of Qui-Gon absolutely crushed me! He was and always will be my favourite Jedi.

I agree Master Qui Gon was more in tuned with the Force than any other Jedi or Jedi Master including Yoda ever was. He sensed what was to come and when he came back as a Force Voice reaching out to Yoda. He saw that the Sith grew stronger with every day that the Clone Wars contunued. Master Qui Gon sense danger for the Jedi and if he hadn't died in tbe hands of Darth Maul, who knows what would have happened to Anakin. Hence, why the battle between Maul and Master Qui Gon is called "Duel of the Fates". There's no wonder why Darth Sidious/Palpatine feared Qui Gon more than any Jedi in the council. Qui Gon would have exposed Palpatine and his plot much quicker than Mace Windu or Yoda could have done so.

Qui-gon left Shmi a slave because there was nothing he could do about it. So I don’t see how he could have saved her when he would have never been there. Obi-Wan was also super accepting of his love for Padme. Anakin and Padme hide it from everyone.

I've always loved Qui-gon Gin. But Luke is my hero from childhood. That's all I wanted from the sequels was to see Luke... so dissatisfied with Disney/lucasfilm/KK.
