Quigon saying "he is imprisoned to the darkside" instead of saying "Anakin is lost to the darkside" is actually pretty meaningful, means that Quigon felt that Anakin was still there whereas Obiwan and Ahsoka simply gave up on Anakin and felt that he was lost forever, Quigon still had hope in Anakin 😢

If I remember correctly Liam Neeson said he's always ready/willing to dust off his old Lightsaber to come back as Qui-Gon, Qui-Gon and Maul were and have been my favorite movie characters since my kid self first saw Phantom Menace and I'd love to see Liam Neeson return

I really want to see Qui-gon's Force Ghost telling a depressed and defeated looking Obi-wan that Anakin is still the Chosen One and that there is Light deep inside of him. To which Obi-wan will answer "No Master, he's been consumed by the Dark Side. That little boy from Watto's workshop is gone". Qui-gon will answer: "The Force works in mysterious ways, old friend. All is not how it seems, and you may find the Light surviving even in the darkest places. You still have much to learn my young apprentice". As Qui-gon disappears, Obi-wan mentions: "Master, there is another....".

I always thought the "I dont like sand" line was lowkey genius from Anakin If Anakin doesn't like sand, it's a reason why he wouldnt return to Tatoine.

5:08 lmao poor Obi-Wan can't catch a break. This I think is why he's such a beloved character though, he's a little more relatable than apparently all-wise and powerful force mystics like Qui-Gon and Yoda (as cool as they are). In the prequels, he's almost kind of an everyman, the primary character through whose eyes you witness Anakin's rise and fall.

Basically Qui Gon was Obi Wan from Episode IV, it just took longer for Obi Wan to learn from his mistakes as a Jedi. You see how when he was an old man how tender and caring he was with Luke, he rectified his coldness with Anakin and was like a cool grandpa to Luke.

I 100% think Qui Gon had an understanding of Anakin’s fate in going to and from the dark side. Anakin needed to do so to bring balance to the force. There was no other way for it to happen. I believe Qui Gon understood his role within this prophecy and carried it out the best he could.

That’s why obi wan is a fan favorite! It’s because even though he suffered enormously he still didn’t turn to the dark side. He was the wisest.

as a fan from the original movie I’ve seen when opened back then to now, it’s always have been the story of Anakin. It’s a tragic story… but gives hope. Lucas really did have a good story.

If we got Matrix 4, and if we got Dafoe and Molina in Spider-man: No Way Home, I think we can get Qui-Gon easily.

Theory’s take on the novel, Master and Apprentice, is a bit off IMO, but people interpret things differently. I felt Qui-Gon never viewed Obi Wan as a sub par Jedi or apprentice, Qui-Gon viewed himself as a failure because they weren’t attuned as master and apprentice until later in their time. Qui-Gon felt Obi Wan was too much aligned with the council’s beliefs and didn’t think for himself. Likewise, Obi Wan felt Jinn was too rouge and went against the council’s guidance too often. Obi Wan was a very talented apprentice, he won his class’s dueling trails amongst other high achievements. In the novel, Qui Gon thought often about assigning Obi Wan to another master because he saw what potential Obi Wan had and was concerned he wasn’t getting it out him. Qui Gon figured out toward the end of Obi Wan’s apprenticeship just how talented of a Jedi Obi Wan was and would become and (without spoiling the book) why master Yoda had assigned the two together. I couldn’t recommend the Master and Apprentice book any higher, it’s a great read.

Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan both had lovers that almost made them turn to the dark side. Explains why they understood Anakin so much. There’s something about Qui-Gon’s master-apprentice linage getting into trouble like that

I would really like to see Obi-wan talk to Qui-gon Jinn as the force ghost for the upcoming Kenobi series. That would be so amazing!

The Rise Of Darth Vader is a great book and I've been hoping they'd use it for tv or movies. Star wars is Skywalker.

I think Qui Gon easily could have steered Anakin in the right direction. He too had his own disagreements with the jedi council. And he understood the faults of the Jedi better than anyone else. Obi wan couldn't have done it, since he was more of a brother to Anakin than anything else. And the main reason Anakin ended up making the decision that he did was because of the inability of those around him to fully grasp what he was going through. Qui gon was perhaps the only one who could have understood Anakin.

What if OBI Wan felt pain when holding the lightsaber. And everytime he held it, he would always feel like he failed anakin.

You made some really good points about the difference between Anakin and Darth Vader. Things I had not considered. I appreciate the thought you put into this video. I shall also put more focus into the motivations behind the actions of our Star Wars heroes and villains. This was very much eye opening. Great video my friend.

I would love to see Vader go to Tatooine let Anakin take over, but then remenbering how much pain everyone brought him. Letting Vader take full control and with all the rage he has at that moment destroy a small village or something like that.

I believe James Luceno also wrote Labyrinth of Evil, and I always considered that, the Episode III novelization and Dark Lord a kind of trilogy unto itself. Great read, and I too hope some elements find their way into the Kenobi series.

I hope we get to see some appearance of Qui-Gon during the Kenobi show guiding Obi-Wan and telling him all the things that you mentioned Theory. Great video!

George Lucas has one of the most creative and brilliant minds when it comes to film!

I remember reading the Darth Vader novel, which I still have. That scene with Obi-Wan on Tattooine was very thought provoking. And yes I’d love to see it put into the series as well. I always thought Vader and Anakin were two different people, just like a multiple personality. To me, I think Vader represents all of us. There’s both a light and darkness inside all of us, and they both fight against each other for control. Maybe it’s our soul, our minds, or spirits. But it’s there and some people give in to the darkness and fall into it forever, others through years of torment, struggle, and self hatred find a way back, only to be scarred for life from it, but stronger. It’s the uphill grind we find ourselves in every day, so I think that’s partially why it resonates with people so much. We see a little of ourselves in the characters of Star Wars.

I would love a “what if” type of series for Star Wars, so many cool plot points that could’ve had such a drastic impact on the series had it gone another way.

Qui-Gon is such a legend

One of my favorite books. I’m currently listening to 20 audiobooks. Starting with Plagueis and ending with the sequels. Can’t wait to go through this one again. Currently on Wild Space for the first time. The audiobooks of Star Wars are sooooo well produced.

But fun by side Anakin had to fall to the dark side to fullfil the prophcy. Its said that if there is just Light or Dark there is no balance. At the time where Windu tried to kill the last dark force user, the Balance would have no longer existed if Anakin had not stept in. The death of Qui gon was the pure will of the force, otherwise Anakin would not turn. Watch the Mortic Arc of the Clone wars, The Father said it: "if there is to much light and dark, the ultimate balance of the force would be destroyed."

Your channel enlightened me to the fact that Anakin & Vader were two very different entities. I loved that concept because it breathed new life into my decades-old love affair with Star Wars. Yes, Vader’s armor incarcerated Anakin and strengthened Vader until Luke’s ultimate breakthrough.

This is a really good book. I liked seeing Anakin's thought process as he was getting used to the suit. There's even a small part where Palpatine feels bad for him.

Had this book and read cover to cover back in the day! It was 2006. Yes, to me this remains CANON. And what a legend it is.

This was a great book. And I see it as part of an unofficial starwars trilogy that should have been, with labyrinth of evil, revenge of the sith, and this book. All great reads.

Obi wan didn't have time to go down from the high ground to "Finish him off" but he does have the force and could of easily force pushed Vader into the larva below.

Everyone missinterprets Anakin's conversation with Yoda about his visions of padme's death. Yoda tells him to learn to let go as aposed to clinging to what he desires. This is essentially a Buddhist view on the world. Anyone who's listened to the Dali Llama speak can easily see how Yoda's character was directly inspired by him. Buddhist's believe that clinging is the main source of all suffering and that in order to conquer your suffering you must learn to not CLING to your desires. This is different then not having any desires. (The main mantra of Buddhism happens to be "om Mani PADME om". ) Everyone hears these ideas as "do not desire anything. Do not love. Do not care" which is ironic given that even Anakin himself expressed that he fully understood these ideas when he explains these very concepts to Padme in episode 2. He tells her that Jedi are not forbidden from love, but are encouraged to love with compassion as apposed to possession. It all comes down to a misinterpretation of the word "love". Every heard someone say "if you love them, let them go"? This is an expression of this very idea.

In the Revenge of the Sith book, they were really working on Obi Wan's character development as a Jedi. More in particular, cutting off attachment. It was a strong, yet subtle theme that he went through a few times. Some of it seemed like rather dark steps, or just the Jedi way that Obi Wan was headed. After Vader and him shared their final words at the lava pit, Obi Wan thought of killing off Vader to end his suffering, but that theme came up in his internal deliberation, and Obi Wan concluded that he was not in a generous mood that day, and thought nothing more of the situation as he turned around to leave Vader there to burn to death. At the cantina scene, I think he was flabbergasted that Vader survived, it was as if he was pissed that upset that Vader had lived on, but went on to ask Qui Gon questions later. It was quite an interesting take, and read.

2:50 I’ve always talked about that but when I say it people say “there’s nothing he could have done”. Well that’s not the point he doesn’t know there’s nothing he could have done, both he and Yoda feel they were responsible

Qui-Gon was the father figure Anakin needed while Obi-Wan was more of an older brother and both of them gave Anakin a family dynamic that he never had besides his mother.

Not just the men, but the women and the children, too. He definitely reawakened the Anakin Skywalker within lol

Vader even acknowledged in that book that he would not be able to go to certain places for his own health. But Qui Gon being one with the Force was more perceptive. It was also fear, yes, but it was also to prevent him from dying of basically a heart attack brought on by emotional distress.

Hey can u do a what if video of what if Anakin had nightmares about Obi wan and not Padme

You know what I never got? Yoda and Kenobi had to have special training to talk to force ghosts, but Luke just gets to hear and see them without even knowing anything about this training. Did Luke have an innate ability to commune with force ghosts or did Kenobi then Yoda slip those lessons in without telling Luke what they were teaching him to do, or maybe it has something to do with the abilities of the individual force ghosts and their differences in ability to manifest themselves?

Not sure if it's mentioned in the video but I just watched Attack of the Clones last night and had subtitles on. I've seen it a million times and for some reason I never noticed that when Ani starts slashing up sand people, Qui-Gon's voice echoes "Anakin, NOOOO!!" and it's labeled Qui Gon in the captions too

I really like this way of Obi-Wan finding out and his conversation with Qui-Gon are incredibly cool and interesting. To be fair to Disney’s cannon though, like most people I much prefer epic stuff like this to happen in a show or film.

God, I would love that part of Obi-Wan finding out about Darth Vader being alive in the cantina to be in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, fingers crossed 🤞
