A really easy way to fix your leaky Gas blowback mag, sometimes the fix is time and this is a prefect example. Im aware there are probably better things to use than silicone

Had to come back and confirm this worked for me. I really was skeptical, but trusted the process. TM USP mag fixed thank you very much!

i usually put telfontape right where the rubbergaskets normally are and that seems to fix it for life

I actually do that on brand new mags. When I get new mags or new GBB, I open the mags and spread some silicone grease (Abbey actually) on the orings, both the base oring and the little one on the fill valve. Next, after closing, I press to open the release valve and spray some silicone oil in it. The just press a couple of times. Then just like Ollie said, low powered gas with lots of silicone (abbey 144a is really nice for it) and leave it for a couple of hours. Never had 1 single mag leaking after doing this. The orings needs constant lubrication. The abrupt temperature drop when filling and releasing the gas causes the rubber to get rigid and sometimes they my crack.

Or you can boil the mag (not kidding, it worked every single time). Basically you put water in a can, let it boil, close the gas and wait for a few minutes. Then you put the mag with a LITTLE bit of WEAK gas in there (around 1 or 2 seconds, I use 134a), trying to submerge only the parts that leak. In a few seconds it should stop leaking. I did that with my leaking m&p9 and hi capa mags and it solved the issue (did it a few months ago and they are still fine). The only downside is the danger of putting a compressed gas in a very hot environment, but for a few seconds and using a weak gas not even remotely filling the mag it's doable.

Thanks for your videos. I find them really helpful as for the new MWS user. I had a lot of experience with gas pistols in the past tho so one more tip you could use. If you want to locate a really difficult leak you can always top up your mag and use a bucket/bowl full of water and submerge the mag in, you will see where the leak is. :)

Marui USPs need oversized o-rings to stop that issue for more than a couple of weeks. I know Eagle Six sold such an example but from memory the dimensions you need are 15.6mm x 20mm x 2.2mm. Double check this though!

I've had split seals that I fix with the blue (Loctite?) silicone gasket maker that you can buy in Halfords. It usually works a treat once dry, apart from on some Umarex PPQ mags that are stubbornly leaky 🤦🏻‍♂️
@SolidSativa1

Using tiny amount of gas and waiting 24 hours is just stupid. Getting that o-ring back in place needs cleaning, lube and High pressure, not time. Cmon now

TM mag is petty easy to fix the leak and they are not that easy to have a leak at the first place. But some brands just are not in such case, for example, VFC mag. VFC use a lot of screws, and those screws are screwed through the rubber seals. It makes those rubber seals really easy to get damaged if you are not careful enough. One of my older VFC Glock mag had its rubber seal damaged and I have no idea how to fix it so that mag still leaks today and it is completely useless. So we are lucky to have TM design a good mag for us, we shall praise the TM god 🤣🤣

Onl solution if rubber is dead is disassemble and glue it with some silicone for car Windows or gas pipe sealer i personally prefer second option with the first i had silicone débris from my magazine in my nozzle

@@OllieTalksAirsoft no problem, if you try it i personally aplly ptfe rubber on the oring and then apply the sealant. So you glue the tape and not the rubber. I see this on a vidéo it work for my tm hicapa mag, my we m92 and for the mk23 i change the oring with a n14 but i must close it with à clamp

You can also put them in some water and see where the bubbles come from. I often use the same method as you, but I use some nimrod gas, which has WAY too much oil in it, so much so that it is useless for airsoft, the hopup does not work when you use it (nimrod) claimed that it was a factory error . but now it's my gas to seal magazines with, works great, you apply pressure and everything is smeared with silicone :D

Hey Ollie short update from my past basement sessions: Done everything with lubing what you told me to do. (Used the BB session to work it in.) Again used 144a. I could get 1 Load of BBs out of my Mags, (tested) by 8 seconds of charging. It was bit more bit less, cause I have a shitty speedloader (have problems with loading - already ordered the odin adapter) so I had 25 23, 32, 34…so on. Tried again with a (full load) of gas waiting until the valves spit, then one complete Load and a only bit more. I will test again with greengas but I often read that people could get at least one load bit more out of their mags. Possible that with greengas less problems with one load cause of temperature resistance? And now: Hearing test: 3 of 5 mags having those minileaks. 2 completely ok. After that relubed from outside router and output valve again. Would you say: „Test again with green gas! Don‘t worry about your nozzle spring! (Not cheap to buy this guy and mags…..have to order from abroad for spareparts…..nozzle springy) Than have a look at your mags! 😅😅 I‘m afraid of punishing anything…🥺🥺 Today, when working more near to your hobby (as I had ever done) I had a bit better feeling about this problem 🙃 Have a nice day! @OllieTalksAirsoft
@OllieTalksAirsoft Год назад
Well any leaking from the top will be to do with the release valve. Co2 is much higher pressure so will require a more hardcore grease probably. Or you may need to remove the valve, soak it over night so the o-rings plump up a bit and it'll probably be worth cleaning the inside of the top of the mag (where the valve goes) with a Q-tip as there may well be dirt in there keeping the valve open a tiny bit

Hey Ollie, I‘m asking you for help and an advice ;-( I am officially now an owner of a mws and 5 mags. Last sunday I broke in my mags to see that everything funktions so I went to my little shooting range in our house. For information: I used low powered gas (white Nuprol 1.0) cause I don‘t want to ran it on green gas first. When I charged the mags I waited until the inlet valve spit the gas out as I‘ve seen it on many videos. But this took me 20 sek and I thought that was the right way (full when spitting) Every mag ran great but after that I can hear little to micro „pff“ at the output valve and the gasrouter area. After BB session I tried a few dryfire shots only with gas until the mags were completely empty or the MWS gases the rest out. Possible that only the higher pressure of the green gas mags let you know that they are full and with 144a/134a you won‘t reach that point and overfill the mags? It’s just a micro leak (if it is) but I‘m so depressed now cause I have to maintain and repair EVERY mag now ;-( …time consuming and not a single gameday played…) Works your method here in the vid also with mws mags? If you find time for an answer would be very nice. Josch
@OllieTalksAirsoft
@OllieTalksAirsoft Год назад
Hi Josch, please don't be down, we can fix the problem 😁 so firstly I would be using green gas as the temperature is starting to drop (in the UK anyway) if you're somewhere hot then 144 will be fine but it can 100% take green gas reliably so id make the switch anyway. secondly id spray some silicone onto the router, like inside, and on the release value where the hammer hits, then shoot the mag a bit to work the lube in, its likely just not reseting all the way as it'll have been in storage for a while. also TM mags do have a blow off unlike other brands of mags, even clones, they purge air and a little excess gas but they're actually pretty efficient, they have a restrictor so you don't over fill them and waste loads of gas when shooting. the MWS mags are a little more complicated to take apart but I have got a video on my channel about swapping the mag lips which shows how you take the mags apart and its not tooo bad but I just wouldn't unless there is really no other option. a tiny leak I would worry too much about, as long as you can fire 2 lots of BBs on 1 fill of gas then its performing fine, the mags should be able to hold gas for ages so it may be worth leaving the problem one to the side for a bit and testing in a week to see if the mag actually leaked all the gas or if it was balancing itself out, if you get what I mean,. finally if you are new to gbbr's then always leave some gas in the mags, especially if your not going to play for a while, it keep the seals under pressure and working properly, don't leave them full but a 1-2 second spirt of gas will do. good luck buddy and I hope you have many many years of fun, if you issue persists then shoot me an email with a video and ill help how I can. happy shooting Ollie

I think I can shoot some mags with no problem and extrem leak so we will see next week or something! Oh yeah I‘m waiting for my first CQB game here in Germany 🇩🇪. As I am new to gbbrs I know that I have to put a bit of effort in my new toy. Cause gas guns need a little bit of love. But not so much as every other brand right! yeah its all about leaving it with the valve upwards and just using a little gas and time, time is the big but 24 hours is enough usually. the gun is actually a H&K USP-9 and I added a KWA .45 USP Match rail, I did it as a project, there's a couple of videos about it on the channel if you fancy being the second person to own one 😎

I usually don't as rubber seals don't really like getting wet but a lot of seals are silicone nowadays so it may be ok. usually id put my thumb over the outlet value, if the hissing gets less then thats the issue, if not then its the base sealing o ring.

@OllieTalksAirsoft
@OllieTalksAirsoft Год назад
id say the MWS, the community is massive and the gun just rocks out of the box, you literally need to do nothing, well.....maybe replace the nozzle spring but that's it and its easy, where you buy the gun will probs do it for you if you ask or ive done videos on how to do it yourself if you're feeling brave. but honestly whatever you choose you'll love it, GHK users love them but I think for competing against AEG players the MWS is the only GBBR when you don't ever really feel out gunned. also ive got a mate who hasn't cleaned his MWS in years and it still works and shoots great.

Have you ever had issues with TM MWS/Type 89-mags leaking? Particularly from the release valve? If so, do you have any tips? Disassemble? And of course, thanks for your vids, always a pleasure watching and learning!
@OllieTalksAirsoft
@OllieTalksAirsoft Год назад
with the MWS and T89 mags sometimes the valve can get develop a leak, make sure you use green gas with silicone in it for a bit, id also pick up a valve key so you can remove the fill valve without damaging it (although a small flat head screwdriver can work fine too) grease and re-insert. im specifically saying do not just tighten the valve more as it usually only fixes the problem temporarily and ive seen valves snap. so make sure you remove it and put some grease on if step 1 doesn't fix it. also leave the mags with green gas with the valve facing upwards like I do, it helps the mags re-seal. hope this helps

@@OllieTalksAirsoft thank you for your informative answer. i've tried to refill (green gas w/ silicone) and store it in all kinds of ways the past 24hrs but the leak from the release is too severe and empties the mag within a minute. so next step is to disassemble grease and re-insert it and see what happens! once again, thank you for the answer and for your content!
