I didn’t know these valve stems existed!!!! So awesome. Just a warning that if you have sensors in your stems then you will break them by attempting to remove the valves.

Me neither until about a year ago. Also true if you have tpms this will not work.

FYI, There are rims in existence that have the valve stem hole behind the face of the rim/center or inside the rim. a person can reach inside the spokes of the rim to the valve stem. i love this feature on my new rims. some may need small valve stems for clearance. Thank you for sharing these valve stems. i would like to share this with others. And BTW, everything is better when wet so lubing the valve stems when removing them is important for this type of situation.

Another option for a standard valve stem is the AME INTL 51025 Quick Tire Valve Change Tool. Some guys I wheel with have used them & they do pretty good also.

I thought they were more of an emergency valve rather than a permanent solution. They couldn't drill for the stem where you pointed, that is where the tyre bead mounts and slides while mounting, but I get your point, they could have found an circumference surface instead of a perpendicular one. Side note - stick the old valve in the garden hose, lock it in with a worm drive hose clamp, and now you have a light duty high pressure nozzle that is better than using your finger.

Exactly right. I guess the guy didn't think about trying to seat a tire bead with a valve stem mushroom in the way!

A set of Colby's, ARB repair kit, and a Glue Tread sidewall kit live in each rig 🤞

All the essentials. It will fix pretty much any tire issue you could have👍🏻

Colby stems are a must have for emergency use. Most newer rigs have TPMS so you'll need to replace sensor if you want it to work.

I found these things a couple years back. Last time I took my jeep out the valve stem started leaking on one wheel. I was able to swap one of these in in 10 minutes. I keep a pack of them in the jeep now when I take it out. Can't speak highly enough about them.

My only concern is with them being shorter and rigid, they have not "give" to them and could do the same damage on lesser contact. The longer rubber at least give you some flex-flop when making contact with whatever. Looking forward to the extended review. PS Evans Creek opens in April...Just sayin

I keep a set of the Colby's in my truck, just in case. Cross fingers, I haven't had to use them yet.

Nope it’s a 24 yr old truck. Those are the valve stems the local offroad shop used when the mounted the tires.

@@MuddyBeards4X4 just mentioned it for the guys with the new vehicles. Would be a heck of a mess if they tried to do a trail replacement like you did. Some folks are none the wiser.

Really weird that you had the TPMS style valve stems.

That’s what the local offroad shop put in when they mounted the tires. I had planned on swapping them out eventually.
