The quick and easy way to do a diesel particulate filter dpf install on a one box mated to a DD style engine. This way you get a full wall around the onebox and how it looks from all angles. Anything to aid in the understanding of what goes on your truck or help you work on it yourself.

Great video, now I know what to look forward when I clean those filters. I would like to make a suggestion, can you lower the sound of the music, is hard to hear your voice over the music.

Doc, first off, thank you. Great stuff and a great thing you are doing for us. Can you periodically do a little segment for the OODO (owner operator's day off)? All too many times we get stuck at a truckstop somewhere and it would be nice to have something we could do while we take that government mandated day off. Simple things like wiper blades, changing bulbs, finding broken circuits, finding air leaks, replacing the Davco filter...anything like that would be a great help to many of the Cascadia owners out there.

How much easier it must be when the one box is clean, soot free, out of chassis and you can walk around it freely. The last time i did this i considered just removing the piece of shit with a cherry picker and doing it at eye level

Haha so I have a few vids on this in chassis and out of chassis. But ya so much easier when it’s out. But I figured this was a perfect opportunity to show everyone what there getting into from all angles.

Hey Mr. Diesel Doctor I hate to bother you again but I have a fault code SPN 3720 FMI 15 DPF Ash Clean Request. Will it make my truck derate if I don’t get my DPF filters changed out in a timely manner? Do you think I can make it another 4 weeks on the road? I really didn’t want to put my truck in the shop over the road. Thanks for your input!

Never a bother, thanks for reaching out. Once that code pops up it’s just a matter of time before it puts you into derate Wait to long and it’ll bring you down to 5mph. I suggest you change your plans abs get it done right away. Not cleaned filters but new or remanufactured. Hope that helps.

Thanks for reaching out. It’s always best to replace the filters with new or reman ones. Cleaning is never a good option as the life is really reduced.

Hello my question i did preventing maintenance on 17 freightliner cascadia No codes show I clean my dpf filter ! Before I was able to do manual regen many times I wanna it . Now don’t let me to do a manual regen and the light come on hot exhaust . I need help thank you . I learn a lot from you

Great question and thanks for watching. If the hot exhaust light is on than it’s doing regens on its own no problem. If the regen light comes on than there should be no reason it won’t allow you to do it if park brake is set, you switch to high low of manual trans,hit the clutch pedal of manual , than hold the button for 5 seconds. If you do all that and it doesn’t allow you to then you would definitely need a diag computer to be able to see what’s going on. Hope that gives a little insight.
