Newly qualified been driving a wagon two weeks now and my only problem is getting to grips with tacho , I’m sure il get the hang of it but hope I don’t get pulled over 🤦🏻♂️
Thanks very much for explaining that bud I have my CPC on the 12th hope I pass it then it's artic time and the tachograph is what Iv been nervous about using as it's so easy to get done for small mistakes with it
Love the vids , very informative. I have my class 2 licence but covid messed me up for hitting the road and never got the experience after passing . Just been offered a 7.5t multi drop job , what do you think 🤔 any tips for getting confidence up ? .
Just passed my CatC 2 days ago so this is brilliant... any chance of doing some reversing clips, showing loading bays, building site entrances or reverse parking with wee tips on where to position back wheels etc...not looking forward to my 1st lgv reverse while hogging both lanes and the world watching 😳🙈 can't believe you can pass a test coz you can reverse between 2 cones, box ticked, move on 🙄. Cheers!
That comment was a year ago! My Cpc was done over zoom during Covid at that time with a class full of drivers ticking the cpc box so taco was unanimously skipped over at lightening speed... but I'm sure your comment has helped a lot of people 🙄
New driver here, forgive me if this a dumb question. I’ve just received my DQC card through the post… is that what I insert into the tacho machine? Or do I also need a tacho card aswell as this? I’ve no idea and Google doesn’t help 😂🤷🏻♂️
@@JoeRPlimmer cheers mate. I’d already found the answer shortly after posting this haha but thank you. I figured there must be another card as every job advert stated CPC AND digi :)
Thank you for the simple explanation. When you take a 45 min break do you need to select chair symbol or can you turn ignition off and it will self select? Thanks in advance
Yes, it automatically toggles between driving and other work. Just be careful when you turn off the ignition as many tachos automatically switch to break and you have to manually toggle to other work before you jump out the cab.
Hi , new to digi card , last tacho I used was the disc, what symbol do you put it on when your loading or unloading? , does it tell your due a break or do you have to keep time on that ? Thanks .
The two pickaxes that look like a cross when doing other work, most new vans give you a 10 minute warning but I brake anexia so I'm constantly checking mate 👍
Alright mate. Just been stopped in P&O on the way out. They stopped me done a printout pulled my card. They said I’m pulling my card at the end of my day wrong????? And done me for miss use of equipment.
To be honest, this is a new one to me. I'm not that advanced 😂, if it is a problem with the taco machine, the company you work for should be getting someone else to double check that you were in the right, please keep me informed on this. Thank you 👍
I Have Apply My First techo graph Card And Its Been 9 Days I haven’t Received my techo card By post Dvla Send Me an Message Of Dispatch But I didn’t got My First Techo graph card please Tell me what is happened.?
Me personally have it in for at least 15 minutes so I have time to do my checks but if your not setting off and not doing other work then put it on period of availability (box with line through it) until your ready to go 👍
Forgot to put it in first thing did all my walk round checks went to leave the yard with tacho flashing ( driving without card) dam it .is ten minutes long enough or will I have an enfringment? New driver .
Had a couple of conversations about this I like 15 minutes but I spoke to a transport manager and he said as long as it takes so I said 5 minutes he said if it takes 5 minutes then that's all you need, how in depth is your walk around sheet? In bestway it's 10 questions 😂 lights, body work, tyres, tail lift, millage, horn, wipers, oil, water and clean cab I actually check more than that because it's my license on the line............... Long story short 10 minutes should be fine 👍
@@JoeRPlimmer that's cool then thanks for that. Yeah like yourself engine bay levels oil water screen wash ,fuel and ad blue, all lights, mirrors, windows, wipers clean cab ,milage ,wheels n tyres, body and spray sup, tail lift, vulnerable people stickers,, correct paperwork and handheld ,correct load and secure ,fuel card don't think I missed anything . Cheers for the reply
Hi Joe! I never commented before but I watched all of your videos and it helped me a lot to understand taxi/ ph trade . I am currently in construction jobs all around UK but this summer I want to change job to be ph driver in Liverpool to spend more time at home with my kid and wife. Also to be flexibile with job so that my wife can get job as well. When I heard you left taxis I could not learn two days as I am in process to get my ph licence in Antrec bootle . So my question is : what you think what is better for me to work for alpha or delta taxis if I live in Wavertreee area?? Also how long will it take to learn the job / streets etc. I use to work as a bus driver for stagecoach in Livepool for 6 years I am familiar with areas and some pubs hehe also major hotels and points of interest etc . Many thanks in advance , Dusan
