Hey, great to see you deep sea fishing on your new Stabicraft boat 💦 You were on a vacation for a while, right? What did you do with your silver aluminum boat? I fear getting my camera stuck in time lapse mode LOL You got nice size black rockfish 🐟I know that feeling of getting a late start and needing to care of stuff at home 🤣 But you got your limit and the last one was a giant 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼❗️

Thanks. This is the first boat I've owned. I did quit the boat club I was in. I went to Florida for a week. It's easy to get it in that mode on the gopro. Just hit the power button when it's on and there goes all your footage.

Best to try on a better day. The spring can have some gnarly weather but some is usually a lot calmer.

@PeelingLine yeah I get it. I went out on a charter 33 miles for halibut and it was 10ft swells. I also fish the Columbia alot. Rain or shine. Can get pretty nasty out pretty quick. Keep up the great content!

No do you have a link? I bet it is though. If I need a bigger boat I think I will stick with stabicraft. Even my little one is good. In three foot chop and less you just floor it and you skip over the top of the waves.

Seeing you out there in a 15 footer makes me more confident. As someone who has never ventured into big water before, what are things to know about Neah Bay specifically?

I would be very careful. Definitely pick your days. This 15 footer has pontoons that are filled with foam and is meant to handle more than for it's size. They say the 18' stabicraft is more like a 20'er and I chose this over an 18'er. There is less rock on this boat so I worry less about falling in.

Some good weather to try your boat out in, looks like no problems and I see you got extra gas "smart". Those were some nice Black rockfish, I wish we could keep a couple inside here when lingcod open. My fish in the freezer is running low as well. Looks like all went good with the new boat? 🎣

I will continue to bring the gas till I get more comfortable with its range. The boat sips gas though. If you want to do a collaboration and go out there for a meat run I could pick you up from the ferry.

That camera angle is great for actually capturing the roughness of the water. Usually that's lost in video for some reason. 31 minutes! Nice, great trip!!

The image stabalization is so good on the gopros it doesn't look that bad. It was bad enough i put a lifejacket on. Good thing you can't see far with it. The gap had massive waves going through. One guy took his grady through and launched over the wave. I debated not posting this so my wife wouldn't get mad. Hope she doesnt read the comments 😂

This is amping me up to get out there for groundfish. Our season just opened, and super excited! Going to try painting some jigs copper as you did in your past video. Looks like the Stabi's doing its job well in the rough!

I thought your season (at least for halibut) opened earlier than ours. There were guys posting canada halibut pics in march. I was considering getting a canadian license but maybe next year. Yeah those copper jigs slay out there but if you look at all the small fish available for food a lot of them are brown, black, white and orange. I wonder if these fish don't see the copper better from adapting. Good luck out there.

@@PeelingLine thanks, looking forward to it. As for our season, halibut season has been open. Rockfish and lingcod opened April 1st for the westcoast of Vancouver Island, and the rest of our waters open May 1st.

No, those were freedom boat club boats. I finally got my own. They were too big for someone that fishes by themselves 90% of the time. Also they used too much gas and would be harder to launch by yourself.
