If you lubed the existing hinges and the latch/plate areas it might be enough to get the door to fully close. My preferred light duty lube for indoor use is a silicone spray because it fully dries and is cleaner (i.e. it doesn't attract dirt like oil based lubes).

It may be air pressure which is preventing the door from closing fully. Opening a window or putting in a small vent might solve the problem. I've also seen in the UK, Rising Butt Hinges. The door rises slightly when pushed/pulled opened and closes by itself, using its own weight to drop.

I have 3 normal hinges on my door. I wonder can I install just 1 new door closer hinge? The cylinder rod of the door closer looks much thicker than the old hinge cylinder rod so I was wondering if the door would be aligned properly if I use 1 new door closer hinge with 2 old normal hinges. Thanks.

Alright. So this is look clean n it will close ur door. I also have another question is there another another hinge that help keep the door open permanently and it doesn’t slam back if there wind blowing. I need a solution for my back kitchen door open without getting shit from the wind.

I have some weather stripping on my door into my bedroom because I like my room quiet so the tension on my hinge would have to be quite high does the hinge have lots of tension?

Good video. The issue in that one room is probably air pressure. Adding another spring may not help it latch. You'd have to go with a more controlled hydraulic closer to work around that.

Hi, i have door hinge, may i know if i buy a new hinge will it fit exactly the old holes position? My door frame is metal so the hinge holes are fixed, so i am looking for exact hole position like my old hinge, i wonder if every door hinge holes are at standard distance apart standard size? Before I buy, how to know will the new door hinge will fit into the old hinge hole position? Thanks

With the new hinge isn’t the distance from the edge of the hinge to the center of the pin with the spring about 1/2” more? Doesn’t that change the position of the door?

Hello! I have a similar set up at my house and I have a question of what you are using for your door hinge stopper on the exterior door?? When I come inside the house, it swings open and hits my interior door (which for me is a coat closet). I really don’t want to put any stoppers on either one of my doors, just the hinge.

I have those same hinges in my laundry room. How do I remove the door without removing the entire hinge?

Instead of removing the original door hinge, why not install the spring hinge underneath the original hinge

I needed this before I forsed my fiance to put up a door closer on a main apartment door that people that slam ALL DAY LONG! I asked it to be fixed with nothing, i put up note and asked very nicely to please not let door slam because it shakes my whole apartment and it helped but not for long. Then after weeks of the earthquake all day i had my fiance put up a door closer and it was heaven for a week and half until I seen it on floor and manager took down saying it was pulling on metal hinge on door frame. Why note fix the problem and try to do what your job is. It took 10 mins to put up and the guy lives in the same building. He took down my note too because i didn't beg him to put it up after he has done nothing to try to fix it and make a tenant at peace who has lived here for 4 years. The guy is a huge tiny turd who thinks he is the smartest little guy in room and spends more time trying not to fix things. I know just move right:) PS i think your video was simple and easy to understand! I wish I seen it sooner :) because he wouldn't of known I did it or if so I would be long gone!
