Hello lovely people, thank you so much for watching. This is just me using up some of my scraps. It might give you some ideas for creating pockets with off cuts x

Love these and am glad you did the demo as my brain would never have thought to put the longest piece on top and I do love that look. Hope you got the cat cared for and loved. i have a special place in my heart for strays, have 6 cats and all but 1 was a rescue and that one's mother was rescued while pregnant with my Zander kitty.

Rewrap an empty spool with the thread, and it won't be wasted. It takes a minute, but then when you get to the end of the spool, all that thread can be utilized.. You can also put the thread on a bobbin. It makes an interesting combination with a solid color of thread.

Nice to see you and hope the cat was alright. So sad when they are not well and have no one to help them. Loved these quick make pockets. I had to laugh when you said that by making these you were making even more scrap Lol! Thanks for the video.

Thank you hun. Not much makes me mad and upset, but animal cruelty does! I stops me sleeping, I just cannot stop thinking about it. If I ever win the lottery I think I will have to open a shelter! xx

Hi Tracy live your videos. In regard to your cotton, try putting it into a bobbin as use it top and bottom. It works for me. Keep up the good work. Thank you Fran

You could use the spooled thread to reload your bobbins with.

Be sure you are using the appropriate size spool cap for the thread spool. Otherwise thread comes off the spool irregularly. Also keep the notched end towards the back, so thread can’t catch on it.. some hints I learned working at a Ewing machine dealership and fabric store. Hope it helps. 😊

Yeah I tried the bobbin, I would have to do it by hand...the machine locks and the thread just breaks. Its a silly thread but someone said try standing it in a mug so will give that a go. Hugs hun xx

I know I watched this earlier but I just watched Wendy's Adventure where she used one in her journal, so I had to watch again! What a great idea to use up scraps - and I too have a large box full! As far as your thread, I could take them off you hand as I love to do hand stitching - LOL! As always, love your ideas. Thanks for sharing.

I'd send a few spools like that back to the manufacturer to show them and ask for their opinion as to what to do. Hopefully this approach will have them sending you free replacements. It may be your machine, but if only those spools cause the problem, then it's obviously not your machine. I like your pockets!!

LOVE these... I'm buried under scraps so tomorrow I start making pockets. I think I'd just drop that spool of thread into a basket behind the machine... that's what I do with my cone thread. Stay safe!

Love the video. One thing you might try with your Gutterman thread, try placing it in a coffee/ tea mug behind your machine rather than on the spool holder. On my machine, I have to use this method for any Coats and Clark thread I still have. The Gutterman thread is spooled differently...seems like this placement would help with the thread getting caught on the spool.....but, if this is the reason for your problems, you could also load the spool with the slitted end facing down on the spool holder! TFS
