Curriculum mapping can take a long time. But, with this simple step-by-step process you will have your curriculum map done so you can get back to your summer vacation.
These 5 steps will guide you as you make your curriculum map. You will get tips for each step to make this process easy and fast. In the end you will have a curriculum map that you will actually use. (gasp)
**Remember to ask any questions you have about this process.**
Step 1 -Gather supplies
Step 2- Make a color code annotation key
Step- 3 Use a calendar to map out non curriculum events (I made a calendar for you that has big space for writing… see the link below)
Step-4- Map out reading & math
Step 5- Integrate themes, science, social studies, health etc.

I was wondering,if I don't have access to a sample of test questions what would you recommend?

If you don’t have the assessments to look at I would either skip it or look at the objectives or benchmark skills for the unit and put that in the curriculum mapping. Lots of times you will see the same benchmark learning objectives over and over and over. That’s how you’ll know it will be assessed at some point. Hope that helps. So glad you are using these resources. The calendar has a pop of color at the top but I will add some more color to next years calendar. Thanks for the idea. One way to customize it to your own color preference is to decorate with markers and washi tape.

What about the teacher binder I tried to get it to print in color I will be a first year kindergarten teacher your videos has helped me tremendously can you do a video on activities for the first week of school also I need help coming up with a classroom theme thank you so much for all the videos

The Teacher Binder Starter Kit is in color so I wonder if it's something with your printer settings? I wonder what's going on? (Some things that have happened to me in the past when things don't print right are 1) make sure the color ink hasn't run out 2)print settings where set to print in black and white 3) my adobe acrobat was out of date. ) Maybe those will help you to print in color. And Yes, I'm going to do a video on my exact lesson plans for the first few days of school. That will be coming out in July sometime. If you have any specific questions let me know and I can talk to each specific question.
