Step-by-step instructions on how to remove and test the door switch on a Samsung dryer. The door switch shown in this video is Part # DC64-00828B (PD00028436) but the instructions in the video apply to many different part numbers and models of Samsung dryers.

Hey I saw your videos yesterday and had an issue with my dryer. Kept throwing a DC code. I cleaned the door seal, actually removed it and cleaned it because I do have dogs... anyhoo I watched this video and thought, hmm I bet I found my problem. So I ordered the part from your link, it said it would be here in 3-5 days. It came the next day! So I put it in today and my problem is fixed! I fixed it! Thanks so much for your videos, these days I can't afford the maytag man to come to my house! MUCH APPRECIATED!

useful but you can open the switch (it has clips) and most of the time it's just the bar which pushes in the switch is worn in from door slams etc all you do is bend it back out and it works like new

I tried this and the switch tests good, but I still get a dC error code (dryer thinks door is not closed). The model number is DVE50R5200V

Hi Greg, next we would test the wiring harness that goes between the door switch and main control board. If the door switch and wiring harness are both good, then you most likely have a bad main control board.

I'm getting continuity only when the door is closed between common and normally open terminal. But when door is open I'm not getting anything between common and normally closed. Wouldn't that be called a short?
