How to quickly re-initialize your BMW sunroof if it has stopped opening, is stuck open, only opens partially or one-touch open/close has stopped working. This will fix most non-mechanical/electrical sunroof operation issues.

Dosent work for me the motor of the sunroof is trying to close it or open it but it cant its just making noices like the motor wants to close it but it dosent move

Bro thank you so MUCH! this fixed my issue. My stupid sunroof went crazy in the drive-in car wash... I hit the Close button several time just to make sure it was properly closed but the bitch opened and got stuck 😭

My sunroof screen is still stuck, it will only go back a couple of inches.. After trying this, the sunroof glass itself opened and closed with the reset, but the shade liner stood closed.. Any tips????

This didn't work for me (x5 F15) . I fixed mine via a hard reset (remove battery negative head for 20mins +) and then back on. All ECU reset itself and my sun roof started working

Bro, thank you so much, I had a problem on my BMW E60 and when I try closing it from the tilt position it would just bounce back. Resetting it, solved the issue. Thanks man!

I have a Mazda 3HB 2005 and it died. I opened it and now it won't close. Motor doesn't do anything. Just the clicking sound when I press the button. Do you think this process could work?

It partially worked on my X3. The interior portion of the sunroof stay closed, but the exterior top portion magically closed itself.

That didn't work on my X3, neither did disconnecting the battery as some have said. The only thing that works is the popup button in the middle, it pops the rear of the panels up then if I push the switch forward they go down. thats it thats all. The shade is open about a foot and wont move, the only noise the whole thing makes is when the panels go up and down
