Hello Sonya I just want you to know that I have tried your SIRKANIS RICE recipe with the carrots and chic peas twice now, and both times, it was DELICIOUS!!! 😋🥡 Thank you sooo much for sharing your delicious recipes!🍽👍🏽👏🏽
To be honest I tried the other day to do a small version of what she does because is only 3 people and 1 baby in my house, and I thought that it was going to be exasusting and it wasn't it was the same duration that any regular dinner with more variety I had more fun ,my husband loved it and the leftover were eaten at lunch next day we had 0 wasted, I guess I all about the recipe that involves fresh ingredients with thing we have in the pantry and because all looks so beautiful and tastes so good and is a combination of healthy and scrumptious that makes it work. My menu was ... her quick Mac and cheese, homemade chicken nuggets, one of her fresh salad and meat stew. I'm not Jewish but that was yummy.
Thank you! I am a vegan who always keeps a kosher kitchen. My elderly mother lives with me and my vegan daughter, and she desires a bit of chicken and kosher fish every-so-often, as she has a restrictive diet (medically). Of course I honor her with Shabbat treats of the chicken soup and fish dishes. Thank you for sharing these recipes! For the Sirkanis, I use vegetable bouillon; and the salads are fabulous. Again, thank you!
Hi, Wanted to thank you. It has been months that I just didn't feel the motivation I had in the past to cook the Shabbat meals anymore and I believe your videos were sent to me divinely.Got motivated like everything is fresh and new!!thank you!
Never cook or bake directly on aluminum, always cover with paper , has nothing to do with easy cleaning or saving those pans for future cooking. It’s for your HEALTH .
It's hard to not love you, Sonya! You are a doll! I am new to your channel and I am learning so much from you! Thank you, thank you, thank you!! Love your family too!! Hubby is funny!!
Sonya, Shavua tov from Jm. For this Shabbat, I tried your Sirkanis and it came out wonderful. I must add though... we don't use the chicken soup powder and I cut down on the oil. But it still came out so delicious!!! I also made your meatball recipe and as you said, they came out light, fluffy and yummy BH!!! I've been cooking for over 40 years, but it was so fun trying something new (especially since my DIL's family is Bucharian:)
Ur such a dedicated mother and wife , you work so hard to perfection which is something that allot of women especially in these times would not do … I’ll just hoping that you get some vacation time … like go someplace with your family and have a good time not to worry about cooking , cleaning and overnight food preparation…
Shalom soy nueva en el canal me encantan tus recetas las haces ver muy faciles de cocinar todah rabah, tengo 7 niños y se me hacia dificil a la hora de cocinar pero tus videos me ha ayudado mucho😘
I love watching your videos - everything you do looks so professional. Do you have training or are you self taught? You have awesome time management skills.
I discovered your channel not long ago and am so happy with it! Your videos are amazing, I want to try everything for my next shabbat. I have to review a few passages however because I am French and my English is not yet fluent 😅🙄 Hashem bless you and your family🙏🏻
You did a huge dinner. Congratulations. Everything seems tô be Very tasty. Some of the dishes I don't know or better I' ve never tasted. I'm gonna do them. Shalom
All your recipes are great!!!! I wish you would write a cookbook so that I could have these wonderful recipes at my fingertips. For now, I write the recipe down because I just don’t want to forget anything!!!!!
Outstanding! I'd like to compliment you on your tichel, the colors of your outfit look nice with your complexion. I smiled at your comment about pureeing the vegetables, I used to put purreed squash in my doughnuts and rutabagas in my cakes (they never knew). My family is getting pretty tired of my Friday night salmon and this fish looks so good, I'm definitely going to try it. I served your roasted beet salad to the older kids this weekend and it was a huge hit! Your channel has certainly improved my skills. Thanks so much for all you do!
Hi Sonya! I love your videos! Before this video I had never heard of sirkanis. I tried it out and it was a big hit! So easy to make yet nutritious, filling and delicious . I substituted coriander for bay leaf. I will definitely be making this again in the future. Thank you for opening up your home to us and teaching about your customs and way of life!
I'm so very happy to have found your channel! I love learning about different cultures and of course the amazing foods! I love how you explain all the recipes and how to prep the meals.
Hi Sonya so glad I found your channel. Your prep is such an inspiration, I’m vegetarian and can easily adapt the recipes. I’ll be making the meat ball recipe using impossible burger this Shabbat.
I bet that would work great. That is my family’s fav veggie meat. I just found Sonya 1 video prior and came here for the sirkanis recipe. Will swap the meat for mushrooms :) making me hungry! :) not only is Sonya lovely but I’m learning about Jewish orthodox and new recipes :) I had no idea about no electricity for Shabbat!!!!

I love watching your videos! You make it look so easy & delicious, and the presentations are lovely! I am inspired to play with my food processor & master it. Also going to make challah. Can't wait!!!
That fish looks delicious!! 😋and everything else! Everything you cook looks Beautiful and delicious! ( and easy ) but when I try it's get complicated 😬
I can't wait to try these dishes. I am fortunate to live near a fish market where the fishermen dock and sell fresh fish right off the boat. I am very excited about the flounder dish for this reason. The seasonings you use are fantastic. Can't wait to try the fish dish first with the rice.
I thoroughly enjoy your videos. You should try using a small ice cream scoop with spring lever to make your delicious meatballs. MUCH faster way to make cookies, meatballs, etc.
Simply stunning, everything looks absolutely delicous. Sonya I am a new subscriber from Sydney Australia. I literally only come across your channel yesterday and I have been binge watching all day. My warmest thank you to you, I think you are the most beautiful person and mummy to your children and I'm so grateful that you share your delicous meals, family and home xx
@@cassandra5516 Hi Cas, I agree her meals always look absolutely delicious and she is always so calm in the kitchen whilst cooking so many lovely meals. Last Friday night I cooked lemon chicken kebabs on homemade Greek yoghurt flatbread...it was very tasty and a great way to start off the weekend. Where abouts do you live in Australia Cas? And I hope you are safe during this time of lockdown. 😀
If u use a warmer ,isn't tht using electricity to warm it? Love ur video btw. I'm new but I binge watch .love them all. U seem like a very well rounded person. I'm surprised u haven't got a deal for the food network, ur recipes r amazing. GOD BLESS U AND UR FAMILY
Hi Teresa, great question. The prohibition is to not turn on or off. The warmer is turned on prior to Shabbat and remains on the entire time unless I put it on a timer to turn on and off on its own. Because it is on we are able to place food on it to warm up. Hope I made sense in my explanation.
Sonya, I liked your fish dish. If you’re looking for a different Shabbat fish dish, try Moroccan spicy fish. It’s a common Shabbat dish for Sephardic Jews. It’s amazing!! You can easily look it up.
I just went to read up about cholent and variations. Before ovens the cholent was taken to the local baker the day before. I'm wondering if my mother's stove was designed for cooking cholent. A tall metal pot with a clamped cover was placed over th e pilot light for things to cook slowly over night. This was how she cooked our oatmeal for breakfast, white bean soup, maybe her delicious oxtail and barley soup was prepared this way.
