@@ScienceOfDiagnostics Absolutely man. I feel the same way. Have you tried this on the old mechanical rack style setups like Detroit used to use? Don't know if the result would be the same since you effectively have as many high pressure pumps as you do cylinders. Just thinking out loud really. I always enjoy your posts on Diagnostic Network. I need to do a better job of contributing there.
@@gearheadautomotivel.l.c.5476 just takes time to write the posts, which is at a premium for most of us. Contribute as you can and I'm glad you enjoy my posts. We need more HD guys on there, which I'm working on. As far as the old Detroits specifically I haven't tried, but some of the older deere and cat engines utilize the same set up and it has worked well for them.
@@ScienceOfDiagnostics You hit the nail on the head brother. Time is always the most precious commodity. Calling me an HD guy would probably be a generous assessment but I've got a fair amount of diesel experience. I used to fix rental equipment too for what it's worth. I seem to be doing more in the HD segment since becoming self employed. I don't mind, just need to get to a place where I can afford at least some type of HD scan tool. You know the deal, always another tool to buy.
Small tips. Works great on these PLN systems. Just partial restriction and good to go. If it still has trouble priming you also know that you have a suction side leak
This looks amazing short cut! But my diesel engine doesn't have collapsible fuel like anywhere, they are all metal tubes, but conceptually this definitely helps.
He’s definitely a complete genius After a lot of time trying to start jd6320 with fuel pump problems I started watching the video and just tried it one more time and guess what it stated without even lifting the bonnet 😂😂😂😂
Thank you so much for this video, we're going on a camping trip tomorrow in the T4 and no start! This got it going first time. I just need to find where the air is coming in now.
When changing out a filter, leave the canister lock ring somewhat loose when starting. This will allow the air to come out completely with a few cranks. Prefill the filter as much as possible first.
Wow I didn’t have time to research a kubota ssv65 I changed the filter wouldn’t start I found the return line pinch it a little started right up thank you soooo much
Unfortunately this did NOT work for me. I'm happy it worked for so many others on this thread. I have a 4600 JD tractor. Recently replaced the fuel filter and ever since then I just can't get it to start. Before reading this post I've had times when it ran for 15 to 30 seconds but then just did not stay running (this after I just let the tractor sit for a week). Anyway, I clamped the return line hose as instructed in this video - kept tightening/squeezing it more and more but then started worrying I was going to damage the rubber fuel line (or other). (btw - I have a full tank of diesel). Alas, I may have to go the expensive route of shipping it off to the local tractor garage. :( Any suggestions are welcome.
Oh by the way!!! You just costed shade tree mechanics across the world a fortune! 😂 love it! I’m sitting out here in 100+ temps fighting my JD until I found you! Thx so much brother
KNOWLEDGEABLE Science Diagnostics Thank you very much for sharing what you know with us Take care and have a great day 👍 Science Diagnostics From Nick Ayivor from London England UK 🇬🇧
THANKS A BUNCH! This worked beautifully on my 1025! She turned over on the first try, but found I had to open the throttle about 25% to get her to keep running, in case that helps anyone else.
Thanks so much. What a brilliant tip. I spent 3 hours trying to clear an air lock, with no success. But, this tip worked first time and I would never have thought of it. Keep the tips coming
Chris thanks so much for the info. I have a perkins 4-108 in my sailboat changed my fuel filters today couldn't get the air out. Just before bed put RU-vid on and discovered your video. My wife and I grabbed a clamp put it on the return line and Mr perkins came to life purring like a kitten. Thanks so much extremely 😊.
Thanks bro, i was 3 days bleeding and cleaning fuel sStem, screwing injectors, cleaning tank etc etc... and this tip solved my problem, big thunbs up, great idea! Cheers
I came across your video looking for issues im having with my JD770 loosing power while under full load. the fuel train in the video is my exactly like my tractor. I've ran out of trouble shooting options and wondering if you can assist me.
Great video. We tried this on a John Deere 1070 when it suddenly wouldn't start. It actually acted just like the video said it would. After starting four times with the return clamped, it would start normally again. Thanks for the video.
