You have multiple electronic devices mounted on your rifle: gun light, laser sight, and maybe even an IR illuminator. And now there's a tangle of remote switch cables on the handguard that resembles the back of your "11.1" home theater system. What a mess! Relax, Brownells Gun Tech ™ @CalebSavant explains how to manage those cables so they don't get in your way or snag on nearby objects. A cable management system can be as simple as gaffer tape or zip ties, but there are neater, more sophisticated ways to keep the wires under wraps.
Caleb has a Steiner DBAL dual-output (visible and IR) laser sight and a SureFire Scout light mounted on one of his "hotness" rifles, both controlled by a Unity Tactical AXON remote switch. The AXON actually has two control buttons, so it can operate the DBAL and the SureFire independently, which results in THREE cables snaking around the handguard.
The solution to Caleb's "cable cacophony" is PCM "Panel, Cable Management" wire routers by Forward Controls Design. The PCMs are machined from billet aluminum, with the same non-slip dimples on top as FCD's MCF rail covers, and channels cut in the underside to route cables. The PCM mounts neat-as-you-please to an M-LOK® slot in the handguard and snugly locks down those cables. They can't move around or snag on something and get dislodged or disconnected from the devices they control. A very neat, tidy installation.
There are other products for routing cables. If you're running just a SureFire light, Cloud Defensive offers a pressure pad switch mount that lets you route the cable under the switch. There are plenty more innovative, effective ways to put those unruly cables permanently "under new management."
