Just a quick video on how to fix blinkers on 99-04 Jeep Grand Cherokees. Comment any ideas or issues you would like to see a video on. Thanks as always!!!
Thank you Dex, this info is going to make driving my Jeep less of a hassle. Yet just 7 Months after this video was released and the $15 fix is now $25 from the same supplier. .
Thank you so much, Dex! My late husband was the fix it guy so now it falls to me. I can hire it out but I'd rather DIY if I am able. I sincerely appreciate you generously sharing your knowledge and helping me learn. I fixed my Jeep for $50 today! Hurrah!
Hi, I will be going out to take the dash off as you have so kindly showed me how to do it, thank you so much but now my question is will I keep blowing the relay because I have brand new LED tail lights
Thank you for this. The flashers working but not the turn signals had me confused. Pulled off the covers pushed on that relay and pow they work. Now off to order a new relay.
Yep, when i used to work for a large auto parts retailer i cant tell you how many times WJs came in for this exact issue and how many 'seasoned' mechanics argued with me on it.
I have a 1999 Jeep grand Cherokee that idels a little high and stalls every time I slow down or stop . What could that be? Also the blinkers only work when it seems to be running for awhile or if I pound under the steering wheel. I watched your video and am going to try to replace that little black sensor thing you showed in your video. I’m a female with a 5 year old and safety is my main concern and I’ve been using my hand signals but almost got rear ended a few times with the Jeep dying when I slow down or stop. Any help would be appreciated thanks
I have a wj I’m thinking about going to a fan clutch and run a electric fan too. It’s on a 4.0l. What fan and clutch should I look for. I love your channel I do some of the same thing with jeeps. New to the wj world.
I replaced my headlights on 04 wj. Lights work, hazards work, and right blinker works but the left one stays solid. Do you think it’s the relay? I tried the wiggle method you suggested and didn’t work for me.
Hi, I replaced the relay just as your instructions, but the problem is still there, no blinkers, no turn signals at all. Would the fact that I use LED bulbs on the front turn signals and regular bulbs on the rear be causing a conflict and therefore the issue is not solved by replacing the relay?
Just subscribed! This is a part you want to pull in a wrecking yard. Mopar is very proud of these. I think they are 60-70 bucks new. I pulled a couple for my Son's W.J. ... and then he put it on it's top. Your channel has inspired me to jack the roof back up and turn it into a wheeler. Do you run Dana 35s on any of your rigs? The WJ should have a non-C-clip version so at least when it breaks the wheel doesn't fall off.
Thanks for the sub! Yep Oriely is about 90$. Haha sweet. Need to do a video on it but that’s why we run disc brakes. They prevent wheel running out on you. But Dana 35 is very week.
Hi there, my name is Jason. I have 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. The problem I have is: all of a sudden, the left blinkers just stopped working (right side work & hazard work both sides). Could you help me with this problem please ?
You can also hit the hazard button about 50 times really fast and it will usually reset that relay and they will start working again, that’s what I’ve been doing on my 02
I have an 02 wj with brake light problems. Brake lights only come on when I turn on the parking lights or headlights. I've replaced the brake light switch twice, all new bulbs and just recently replaced taillight assemblies. I'm at a stand still with this one. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
I have a 2000 jeep wj, brake lights don't work, and my buddy was trying to buy it, he put a new brake switch and back light sockets fried. Looks like someone has messed with wiring Under steering colum before. Thank you
Awesome how to brother!! I wanna ask but if you don't know off the top of ya head Don't answer!! Do you know what spicer u joint goes in a 95 xj with a D30 HP front axle shaft? W/O taking it out an measuring it google says 5-260? Thanks in advance!
I’ve got an 02 WJ Laredo, skim delete but recently the battery died. After I charged it the blinkers and markers are flashing like the alarms going off… pulled the blinker fuses and have been running it that way. Any idea ?
Just replaced this on my 97 xj. Now when I turn my headlight on at night. My left blinkers will randomly flash on their own. When I manually turn my blinkers on they work perfectly. But even off they flash randomly on their own. Only left side. Driver side.
I have a 97 xj that keeps giving me fits with the blinker switch. After several different ones(various parts stores)I got one from Napa. It always works, however the other ones wouldn’t shut off. The stalk would click off after turning and the dash indicator would go out as well. However the tail light and front grille light would still be flashing. With the radio off and the under dash pulled you would hear the relay clicking as well. Any thoughts on that?
I’ve got a 2004 with a 4.7 and after driving it for a while if you park it for 10 minutes or so when you go to crank it it will stumble and die for a while. When it does finally crank it runs rough then clears up. What could it be?
Question actually on the 96-98 ZJ 4.0 cannot figure out why lifters go from noisy on crank up to quiet and smooth at temp to then randomly ticking. Its just inconsistent, i run Valvoline 10W-30 since I bought it two years ago. Im almost wondering if weak oil pump or a clog of some kind maybe?
Two things to consider. at startup it could be piston slap. He has a video on it. Your Valvoline oil probably does not have Zinc. These motors love Zinc. Extending oil changes and running without Zinc can cause wear where the cam interfaces with the flat tappet.
2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee - driver side rear blinker not working...Hyper blinking. Already replaced bulb and entire Assembly but still not working. Help????
Mines working on drivers side (front and rear) and dash indicates for the working side but I have no turn signal on on passenger side (front or rear) and dash won’t indicate for right turn.
My 99 grand cherokee no brake lights driver rear no blinker front passenger head light no blinkers cluster signal blinkers fast. Right blinker doesn't light up or blinks Now loud clicking noise underneath
I actually pulled mine out and smacked it on the ground a couple times and used some light bulb/di-electric grease on the mail spade connectors. that come out and plugged it back in and it's been working perfect ever since...... (Another cool thing to do before you get it fixed is to roll down your window point into the traffic where you wanna go and yell at people, "HEY,... I wanna move over!!!!!"😅😂
@@dexjs In my case it was a faulty switch. Big waste of time removing the relay on my 2004 the relay is under the hood #36 So is the fuse that feeds the relay. The relay you changed just makes the blinkers blink. feed by the relay under the hood after the fuse powers it. I have owned Jeeps for many years. I have had some strange things with the wiring on the Cherokees. refreshing every ground you can find is a good place to look first.
I had one the left side blinker didnt work. It was the switch that you said never fails. WRONG...I wasted 2 hours changing this relay for nothing. Turns out you aint as smart as you think you are. Never say never son.
