great tips Chris! My first experience was with another hunter that became my mentor. Before I even had a licence I joined him on his hunts, being an extra set of eyes but also watching him and modelling his behaviour. He would stalk, but then stay still for a long time, in his words "waiting for nature to come out". My first ever game with my own gun was a fox - I will always remember that. I'm still learning each time I go out, trying to improve my read on tracks and animal signs, looking for behaviours. You're right about staying positive - several times I've headed our for the day, walked everywhere, seen nothing, then hoofed it back to the car to see a goat standing nearby.

Love your comment mate. The value of having a good mentor model good hunting techniques and being there to share wisdom cannot be understated. You're super lucky mate. Once you feel like you've gained a bit of wisdom and experience it will be your turn to pass it on :) P.S I always feel like the trip back to the car or camp has the highest likely hood of finding game haha.

I really appreciate this video further solidify my methodical approach of doing a small game tour for our first hunt. My partner and I are just getting my firearms licence for the first time with intention to learn to hunt and living a self subsistence life style. Your channel is very approachable for a beginner and a lot of it has to do with your structured approach and your warm personality. Thank you for putting your time and effort to sharing these videos. You had a subscriber since the first video I've watched of you. :)

Jay thank you for your encouragement, it means a lot! I'm glad that you've found some useful resources that are proving useful. That really makes me happy. Good work as well getting out there with your partner and trying to get closer to the land and the food you eat. You won't regret it! Where abouts are you guys based? If you every have any questions feel free to send them my way. Always happy to help - Chris

Some seriously awesome advice there sir. Great content as always, but I really appreciated the tips. My son and I have only been at it for a few seasons but appreciate any advice and tips. It's funny you say about guided hints. I was just talking to my wife about us organising a trip for just those reasons 😂 Keep them coming 👍

@@muhammadalihindi411 sambar are amazing. I also like hunting fallow deer. And hunting rabbits is always a lot of fun too. I've never hunted in the Blue Mountians but I've been there on a holiday once. It was beautiful. Hopefully I'll get back there one day, maybe even for a hunt :)

People telling you where deer are as well helps

Haha, yes it does. But that's not always possible (or wise). You've got to be super careful who you share information with, and know that they are responsible. But you're right Adam, it is good to share hunting spots.
