Hi Kenny. Unfortunately you can't on this one. It's just the wifi feature that lets you access the images via your phone when you're close enough to the device. They might have a cellular version though. I don't have much experience with trail cams so take my advice with a grain of salt. While cellular ones are good, you end up paying for it even when it is not really doing anything. You also need to make sure the cellular service you go with has a good signal in the area you place the camera. Which basically means you need to go with one of the expensive networks like Telstra. Even then, there is no guarantee that you'll have a signal in the spot you put the camera. Especially if it's a remote location. Just some thoughts :) thanks for the comment.
sounds like ya mate who gave ur first trail cam pin was a stitch up. over the years ive had hunters wave at my cameras. I do the same if I see 1. just like a crab pot, or someones camping gear you don't touch. True aussies respect what your doing. keep it up mate
You could be right. Either that or it was a terrible recommendation. Spot on about the defining characteristic of a true Aussie. Respect and kindness. It's not hard. Thanks for your encouragement Jordy :)
I had a card taken out of my first camera just as I started to track a big stag. To say that pissed me off the least. My plan was to put a camera there again like it was with a SD card infected with some sort of computer shut down virus 😂 so at least if it got taken I would get the last laugh. But in other luck I scored a private property never returned to my shitty over run public land
That's such a dog act, stealing an SD card. I know some hunters who will take out and SD card, copy it's contents to their phone then put it back in the camera... Not sure how I feel about that, but at least it's not getting stolen like yours. Geeeez.
@@Thehuntsmanshow I would of been happy for them to copy the content that’s fine I do possibly recon as he was a decent fella they got the shit I knew he was there, spose some people never got taught manners hey
Very true. I fear it's only getting worse too. As for copying the SD card, i mean, they already know the spot right? They may as well have the pics too.
This reminds me of the Ben Major burn. I looked through there in 2018/19. It was slowly coming back as it was a very hot fire and there wasn't anything to hold the Sambar so all marks were passing through. Nice to see it coming back
Bush fires suck. But the good news is that the bush can come back pretty quickly. The issue, as you've identified, is if the larger animals like derr, goats and piga can come back. In state forests surrounded by farmland they literally have no choice but to leave and risk it, only to be shot in the paddock. Sucks.
Nice. At the 0:30 second mark you list some species (starling, European blackbird etc) whilst highlighting the displayed document . I don't see any of those listed in it. Is there another list you're referring to?
Hmmm. I filmed this a while ago. I might have been referencing another SA government document. Or the dame document on a different page. Have you read through the entire thing?
Over time you get better at it and manage both the hunting and the filming. At the start it felt much harder. But like anything, the more you do it the better you get at it.
@@Thehuntsmanshow they used to trade them to locals for a whole variety of reasons. For example a crashed drone that would be found by a local would be traded for a few camels…
It is crazy we can’t catch, control, harvest, valuable and easily available animals. High quality protein. Excellent for farmers. In some cases the pelt can be used. The list goes on. Those who argue against it seem to believe native animals/animals go into retirement homes and live in harmony. The death by bullet or bow is often far more humane than so called ‘natural death’ Take care all. And don’t forget, fish, chicken, been, and more aren’t from supermarkets, they are from farms or the wild. Peace.
Hi Syed. "Stupid" is an interesting word to use. Why was the hunt stupid? What is it about the camel which makes it stupid? No judgement, I'm genuinely curious in your thoughts 😊
Firstly you will need to decide if you want to hunt with a bow or rifle. If you choose rifle (which i recommend for beginners) you will also need to get your Queensland firearms licence. Given you live in Queensland you will only be able to hunt on private property. The best way to find a property is to start making friends with local land owners, or join a club like the Australian Hunters Club and connect with other members who have land and may be willing to mentor you. They would be my initial suggestions.
I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has watched this video and offered their encouragement and feedback. It's been great to see the response form the community and to see new people watching the show for the first time. If you have any questions, comments, feedback or just want to say hi feel free to leave a comment below. I try my best to respond to everyone who comments. - Chris
Love your video. My only negative comment is that you should get rid of the background music, because it makes it very hard to hear you talk and also to the stags croaking.
Good feedback Alan, I appreciate it. Sometimes i feel the pressure to add background music to help "set the scene" but I'm starting to trust the content more and let important sections just play out with the audio captured via the camera. For the episode that releases at the end of this month the entire stalk doesn't have any music. Which I think is the right call rather than try and fabricate tension. Thank you again for the feedback Alan. Chris
I went for my first hunt a few weeks ago, and my feet definitely felt the cold then, which made it harder than it needed to be. Went out and got a pair of proper boots and have been breaking them in to be ready for my next hunt in two weeks 😎
Good work! It's really important to look after your feet. Especially when you're hunting in difficult terrain. Hunting can be hard enough haha. No point making it harder.
Fly amanita, will give you a stomach ache and maybe diarrhoea if you eat it raw (like most mushrooms). It's psychedelic and has been used ritually, spiritually, medicinally and recreationally for centuries. Technically you've recorded a crime by picking it 😅
Really??? Wow. Good to know. Who'd a thought! Thank you for sharing. Learning more foraging (legal) mushrooms is something I actually want to spend some time learning. Something to aspire to.
