I used to be a recovery driver and drove a Bedford AWD Beaver tail and a spec lift AWD Bedford and also a Ford Cargo 7.5t beaver tail. That was until I changed jobs in 1999. The spec lifts were mot exempt but the beaver tails were not. All were tacho exempt. A couple of years after I left, I heard by one of the drivers who drove Iveco spec lifts all drivers needed HGV licences because of towing vehicles on the spucs and the weights being towed. The company was not going to put hte drivers through hte hgv test and said it was the drivers to pay for it or find other jobs. Nearly all the drivers left and the company closed down. lol
if your only recovering broken down or non runners then it is classed as recovery no need for an operator license , but like you AL iused to run a tacho plate (mot tacho cert to those who dont know )I used to run an 814 alongside a sprinter and a daf 45
Them compression reduction injectors are for making starts easier - they ensure even the crappest battery can turn the engine over... if you fix 'em, you'll need a bigger battery,,,,
Can I just say you are truly inspirational... you explain things so well I get a real sense that your heart is all over giving the viewers a really good video... Iam a DIY mechanic (own car only) have been for 20 years.. everytime I watch your videos I wonder what is he working on today 😂😂... love your videos.... "Top quality parts"😊
Good you "know your onions" (and weights and measures), the M6 Constabulary in Lancashire (I've seen "tweeted") are regularly bemused by the number of overladen Sprinter vans they come across.
I went to Fareham one night with a supposed Max Weight Trailer to find an extra 5 Ton of Batteries onboard 🤣, Thought the DAF was struggling at 49 Ton 👍
Hi 👋🏻 Al. Fantastic as always 👍🏻 Loved the parrot 🦜 joke off the cuff lol 😂 Why do folk just drive and drive until there vehicle just stops 🙄 I change my oil every 5/6 miles and that way I can see how evening thing is looking on the engine etc or big Al will get it lol 😆 Happy Easter 🐣
Thats engine abuse. The driver must of had serious nausea driving that for so long for that much carbon build up plus 2 more blowing like a hurricane...
Hi Al do you have any tips on removing my grand cherokee 2.7 mercedes engine glow plugs, I think the tip on cylinder 1 has swollen and won't come through the hole
They are a bit renowned of snapping off right at the top, there is a drill kit to remove them if this happens. I’ve never had one that’s swelled up at the end. I’m assuming it just wont unscrew ?
I expect you’ll find fella you’ve only got the top half of it , my got be worth seeing if it’ll pop the rest out if you run it. Otherwise you’ll have to snap the electrode and the extract the rest of it
