Welcome to the official RU-vid channel of Quitting Together, a place dedicated to those of us on a journey to recovery, especially from marijuana addiction.
This channel is not about demonizing marijuana; in fact, I acknowledge and support the right to choose. Marijuana can have positive impacts, as it did in my life for a long time. But, like many, I reached a point where it started to take more than it gave. If you find yourself in a similar situation, where marijuana has begun to overshadow other aspects of your life, I invite you to join me on this path to recovery.
➡ Here, you'll find content that tracks my personal journey from day one of sobriety. This channel aims to provide a supportive community for those who are looking to break free from what is often considered a "non-addictive" substance, yet find it challenging to let go of. Each video is a

Whether you're newly sober, considering sobriety, or have been on this path for a while, there's something here for you. I share not only my experiences and challenges but also invite guests to discuss various aspects of addiction, recovery, and mental health. From professional insights to personal stories, each video is an opportunity to learn, grow, and find support.

checking back in, im glad you are still doing this! looking forward to a more sober future! its my 18th day as well, im feeling great, but there are minutes in any day where i just want to smoke my brain away. its gonna be okay!

Thanks for checking in! For me, whenever I have those feelings, I simply have to acknowledge them and ask myself what has caused me to be triggered into feeling that way. Then when I really examined it, I realize I don’t actually want to smoke. I simply don’t want to feel the way I currently feel and that’s OK. And by then I no longer want to smoke.

Start of day 18 today! I feel great too, feels like smoking was a previous life to me but I’m humble enough to know where a slip up will take me! Back in marathon training and lungs are feeling so clean it’s unreal! Been very productive and sleep amazingly, I’m in a good place right now

I love that you said that. It really does feel like a former life but then the second you smoke again. It all comes back. It’s wild how we can smoke for years and then not smoke for two weeks and feel as though we’re fine and don’t have a problem anymore. That’s the addiction brain lol

@@Quittingtogether that’s incredible, congratulations! I took on a part time job in evenings for additional funds that wouldn’t of happened if smoking and just generally being more assertive. Someone called it a coincidence. Someone call it New Year’s,😂 but for real I’m really proud of you. The dreams have been really fun for me. @@mariechosgaire6984 Louise is my wife’s middle name, so that’s easy to remember! And that’s incredible! Congratulations on day one. You are in for a rough journey at first. There’s no way to sugarcoat that. But I am sleeping so much better now than I have in years, and I’m having really cool dreams again! I would recommend going back and watching some of my earlier videos from this year when I first quit. I think it really helps when we’re struggling to see someone else. That’s struggling and know that they got through it. The first two weeks are always the hardest and just know it will get better after that. I’m really proud of you for being here and please keep commenting and letting me know how your journey is going. Today is 11 days for me Dr Frank, could not have done it without Jesus and you. Withdrawal sucks but so does addiction. Having to admit to myself that I can't smoke and put it away for even a day. It's a hell of a lot easier now without it. Like all the other time I had to quit because of no money, the first 3 to 4 days is the hardest. Then you wake up and realize it's not that bad. The unbelievable boredom the first 4 days was hell. Don't ever want to go through it again. To everyone who is trying to rip that monkey off your back, you can do it. Ask God and Jesus for the willpower and strength.

No alcohol or weed… day 12. Still not getting the REM or deep sleep that I like but I’m hoping that will improve. Been waking up kind of groggy. Other than that feeling pretty good. I water fasted the first three days and I guess that fixed my appetite bc I’ve been able to eat three meals a day and I’m actually hungry. So that’s good.
